  3. LOL, I so the same thing and I to never thought I would be one of those brides. Thank God we have each other or we would drive our FI crazy.
  4. Oh okay. Well, I'm glad you got it out the way. Weird, let's try a lil overwhelming. Lol. I'm excited, anxious, and ready to get my life and pockets back. Lol. Right now I feel like my wedding consumes my entire life.
  5. FLO628 you and your FI rock. LOL. I completely understand though, if my FI and I could afford it we would've bought our immediatley family's tickets and just been done with it. Unfortantley, that was not an option. My parents have booked their flights, paid their room depoist and then some. My brother has paid his room deposit and will either reserve his flight (with my TA) or order his ticket in the next week or two. Now, I'm just waiting on my FI's mom and sister to jump on board. I'm sooooooo over this part I don't know to do. Six months to go.

A girl has to dream though, right? You have to check out the link to see it on her, it's just stunning from all angles. (http://queenslandbrides.blogspot.com.au/2013/09/real-life-wedding-susan-ben.html) That gown is absolutely breath taking. WOW!!!!
  9. Here's what I have so far Something new: My dress and shoes Something old: My best friend died 8yrs ago and I have an old wife beater of his. I'm going to cut a piece out in the shape of a heart and have it sewn into the inside of bodice of my dress Something borrowed: ?????? Something blue: I haven't finalized this yet but I really really want to have my name (Mrs. Tuff) sewn inside the hem line of my dress in blue. Hopefully, the place I will have my dress altered will be able to do this.

When you have a moment and come down off your honeymoon bliss can you please tell me how you enjoyed your experience/wedding at the HR? Are wedding is 6 months away and I am sooooo excited and anxious. I would love to hear about your experience.

I got married at 5 PM in a hot as hell Catholic Church lol. They wouldn't let us light a unity candle because of the "breeze" except...there was NO BREEZE. HAHA. My reception was on the beach at 8 pm after my 7 pm cocktail hour. I got married on July 5th so it was blazing. Heres my hair do: You looked beautiful
  12. I am sooooooo happy I found this thread. I have gotten some amazing ideas from you ladies. Thank you
  13. I'm glad I came across this thread b/c like many of the other brides I didn't think of this either. I have two bands and I am getting them soldered onto my engagement ring. So I think I will just give my ring to my mom and his ring to his mother (b/c we don't have a bridal party)and we can get them from them during the ceremony. However, I will wear my ring up until the day of the ceremony (we get into the DR on Wednesday and don't get married until Saturday) b/c mine doesn't fit on my right finger either.

Never would have thought of something like that.

I am going to get this done on a seperate peice of fabric (that way I don't have to worry about them ruining my dress) then I am having the lady who did my alterations saw it in. I know there are some booths at some of our malls that will do this sort of thing on shirts and hats...that's where I was planning on going. Thank you. That was very helpful. I will look into this as well. I REALLY REALLY want to do this.
  17. Sooooooo cute and very creative. I want to get my name (Mrs. Reese Tuff) sewn into my dress but I have no idea where to get it done.

Which means you have to stay at their hotel for 3 days prior to your wedding date, which does not include the day you arrive, your wedding day, or weekends. They say it's to assist you with wedding preparations, ensure that all of your documents are in order, etc. But, this also means that since my proposed wedding day falls on a Wednesday, I will have to arrive the Thursday prior, which means I have to arrive a total of 6 days before my wedding. I really do not want to change my wedding day because it's special to us. What is a bride to do? I'm not sure if you've found a solution to your problem but I may have some helpful information. I signed my wedding contract in June and here is my understanding of the "residency requirements" for the DR and HRPC. If you are having a legal ceremony you have to meet the three day residency requirement for HRPC and the DR. The day of your arrival can count as day one as long as you arrive in the country before noon. If you are going to have a civil ceremony then you do not have meet the three day residency requirement for the DR. However, HRPC still has a two business day "arrival" rule. I'm assuming this is to make all the appropriate wedding arrangements. So, in your case you would need to be in the DR on Monday by noon in order to have your wedding on Wednesday. I hope this helps. Good luck.
