  1. I . I'm nervous about the same thing. I just wonder how they define "guest." You're good to go it seems since you already have yours approved.
  2. Wow that is ridiculous. And I know what you mean about them claiming it's not bc of food/drinks which like you said is bogus bc for example- for the pick and choose private dinner prices range from like 18-28 dollars/person! So frustrating.... Anyhow- I'd love to hear more about your rehearsal dinner! That's sounds like a lot of fun. What exactly is the beach BBQ? We just had a change of plans for our rehearsal dinner so now I'm looking into more options.
  3. That is so unfortunate! I don't understand... Are they no longer allowing outside vendors of any kind?
  4. Haha well good to know! At least that does make me feel safe. Thank you for the info! Yes, I will just be firm. Ultimately, as brides we are bringing them a ton of business... I'm not letting them walk all over me.
  5. I thought the same thing- "will anyone even really know??" I haven't been there but I assume the only way anyone would know is if there is like a locked gate at the entrance lol. I have considered booking rooms for my DJ and photographer as well. Are your vendors very local? I guess I just thought it would be funny to book a room for a local, but it does technically present a cheaper loophole. Who is your DJ and photographer? We are using DJ Doremixx and Samuel Luna for photos.
  6. My DJ wants to meet prior as well. It's something I didn't even mention to my WC. There is no way I'm paying for a day pass for him to meet me for a 30 min meeting in the lobby. You are absolutely right that the meeting is part if his service which we you (we) are already covering in the vendor fee. Who's your WC? I think I'm going the route of "easier to ask forgiveness thatpn permission" and I'm not going to mention it and ill just "tell" my on site coordinator when I get there vs "asking" now and risking them telling me I have to pay a fee. Since you already mentioned it to your WC I would just be firm that you refuse to basically "pay twice" since you are already paying a vendor fee. I will probably run into a similar issue with my photographer since I'm doing my TTD pics the day after the wedding....
  7. I love these! Does it matter what kind of flower you use? I've been ordering my flowers from afloral and I like what they have way better than michaels and hobby lobby but I don't know if the type of flower matters ... Silk, real touch, etc
  8. I love afloral! I'll post pics of my bouquet I'm making tomorrow.
  9. I'm making one very similar to this! I just bought the shell on etsy over the weekend. I'll post a pic when I make the "basket"
  10. Same! I've purchased flowers from afloral for my bouquet and I love them but what kind are best for floating in water? I need purple as well
  11. What? Weird! She is wrong. Unless the policy has changed very recently, they do allow outside DJ services, you just have to pay the vendor fee. I booked DJ Doremixx for my June 28 wedding and my WC added it to my detail sheet. I would definitely look into that further. Good luck!
  12. Thank you so much! This makes me feel a lot better about my plan! thank you!
  13. We are June but I just ordered mine from afloral.com and I am very happy with them especially for the price. This was I also didn't have to worry about what's in season.
  14. We booked dj doremixx bc even with the vendor fee he was only like 100 more than the two the resort offers and I really like all the reviews I read about him vs the fact that I couldn't seem to find ANY info on the others and they don't (or didn't) have their own website, etc. it just made me feel like I would be booking a DJ that I didn't know anything about
  15. I just stumbled upon your planning thread and am soo inspired! I've already done a lot of DIY but your beautiful wedding has just given me so many new ideas! Everything turned out beautiful for you!!! Congrats!
  16. I think that sounds great! We only have a couple things planned as this is more than likely the only vacation for many of our guests as well. Plus I don't want it to feel busy and overly scheduled. I want to be able to relax and not look at the time. Also, I think my maid of honor is planning a bridal brunch one day so that's another "event" for me. Ours looks like this: -Wed night- "White Out Welcome Party" - a welcome dinner where we asked everyone to wear their favorite white attire -Thurs- rehearsal dinner for immediate family and wedding party -Fri- wedding with private cocktail hour and reception -Sat- Farewell Brunch Everything except the brunch is a "private event" and since we are also trying to watch our budget the brunch will really just be casual and more of a "try to all sit in the same area at one specific restaurant" if that makes sense. We MIGHT make the brunch private but as of now we aren't. I didn't want to "over plan" so that's why we aren't planning group excursions or anything like that.
  17. Beautiful! We are doing trash the dress pics as well. My biggest question is did you literally trash it afterwards or did you take it home? If you took it home how did you get it dry in time? Our TTD pics are Saturday and we leave very very early Sunday am.
  18. I have Erika. She responded to me last week once and said wedding season is in full swing so I'm assuming she is busy. I emailed her today and am waiting to hear back. I'll let you know when I hear back. She usually takes a couple days.
  19. I knew about the price increase and that's one reason mine are out already but I can't believe I didn't think about actually getting the RSVPs back!!! :/ good thing I already have 36 booked and have gotten a lot of RSVPs back... I hope this wont affect anyone too badly.
  20. I am still undecided about exactly how my centerpieces will look, but I just completed these table "numbers" today. Each table will actually be a city vs a "number." When the guests get to the reception a table will be set up with maracas and each maraca will have the guests name and what "city" they are sitting in.
