  1. Thank you ladies!!! Breathing a huge sigh of relief now. I'll be sure to post pics once it's all over.
  2. @KristieT...you could always just buy the wine bottles when you reach your destination. There are plenty of liquor stores around hotels. Heck, if you're a real hustler, you will just pay one of the bartenders or kitchen staff to slip you a bottle. LOL! Then all you have to do is pack the marker. I found gold and silver sharpies at staples. They have a fine point so it writes like a pen.
  3. My BM's have the convertible wrap dress...similar to Henkaa and two birds. I don't know who the maker is but we went bridal shopping and popped into this one store and everything was 50% off. They got a coral dress that they will probably wrap either one arm or in a way that looks just like the blue one posted above.
  4. LOL!! What does it look like? Maybe I can help. Can you post so I can see what you started with?
  5. Instead of a wedding book I was thinking of buying 3 bottles of wine in black bottles. I bought silver pens and was going to make labels for the wine. 1st, 5th and 25th anniversary or somehting like that. Have people sign the bottle and we'll crack it open on the anniversary and think of them while we toast. I want to set it up on a table with photos and candles. Prob near the seating chart area. I'll also have a basket of CD's. I made a cd of reggae love songs to go with our JA wedding.
  6. @dazeydawl...THAT IS PERFECT!! Ok I just calmed down about 1000 notches after seeing this. You may be right...it may work out better after all. Coral is a shade of pink so maybe that should just be my theme. LOL...joke is, I actually hate pink and anything girly. But glad to knw there is hope after all. Thank yoU!!
  7. I like the bouquet idea. That may be the only way to pull all the colours together nicely actually. And YES!! The fuschia flower in hair would look nice too. Good idea. Thank you both!!
  8. The guys will be wearing light gray suits. And I had these darker gray tablecloths originally with fuschia napkins. Perhaps now I'll stick with white napkins on the gray. I also had ordered fuschia, gray and white lanterns to string overhead. I ordered them from the states so it'll be a hassle to return or exchange them now. Ugh!! I hope it doesn't look like a wedding that's all over the place and people don't think I have no sense or direction. LOL!
  9. Decor help needed: I was planning on having a fuschia and silver wedding. Went BM dress shopping and of course the dress we decided on is more coral/peach than fuchsia (heck, it's not fuschia at all). My question is now, can anyone suggest ways of how I can still incorporate the grey and fuschia with the coral? Has anyone seen photos of how this could work? Do I need to eliminate something? I can't find any images online and haven't actually seen this done before. But I already bought the decor and don't want to return/exchange or buy more if not necessary. My brain is currently on overload. Any suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks.

  12. This is the link I used. If you just play around with it IE; just put in your names or just enter the date etc you have a lot of options and can make a nice header for your seating chart. The site has alot of free templates too. Makes our lives MUCH easier. Hope it helps! http://www.weddingchicks.com/freebies/invitation-suites/modern-monogram-invitation-suite/
  13. Go online and download new fonts for free. OR...just create a logo for yourself that you can use on everything to brand your event. Use your names, initials or whatever. Save it as a jpeg and use on everything. I did one on a free website. I'll look for it and let you know. I actually created the invite on the site but then just did one with only our names and it works great on everything!
  14. You can easily do this yourself in any document...even Word. Type in all the guests and put them at a table. Do something easy like Word Art for the letters. Then you can just select all and put it into columns so that it fits one page. Add a page border and voila! Take it to Kinkos and have it printed in the size you need to fit the frame.
  15. Welcome!! If you're looking at 2014 you have some time to make decisions and research. use the boards to let other ppl's decisions guide you in vendors they liked etc. Do you know if you are doing a hotel, villa or offsite wedding yet? Or any thoughts on what you'd prefer? Lots of decisions! All the best with planning :-)
  16. When's your wedding day? I hope it's not same as mine because I have yet to book hair/makeup yet either. EEK!!
  17. LOL! Oops...just notices you guys were talkn bout BM dresses. And I'm rambling about my wedding dress experience.
  18. My experience at Davids Bridal sucked the first time. i went on a sat and the store was like a zoo. The woman couldn't help me, didn't stay focused, i had to wait more than an hr to begin...it was a nightmare. I left and went to a restaraunt and had lunch and about 3 glasses of wine. Then I found what i thought was my dress at another store. My best friend thought it was so pricey for such a simple dress and convinced me to go back to David's to have one last look. We went back on a tues. Middle of the day. The store was empty. The service was fantastic - prob cuz they had nothing else to do. LOL. And i found a very similar dress for $1000 less than the one i was fixed on. Tip: Even though it's a retail store...never settle for full price. Ask adn you shall (probably) receive...I did.
  19. I'm very picky and I always think that anywhere serving food should have a nice washroom. I remember being very impressed with the washroom so that's a good thing. The venue was nice. For a 30person wedding there's alot you can do with it. Ceremony by the pool or in the garden side. I was considering it but am having approx 100 ppl so it would have been difficult and I went with another venue. I also didn't eat the food because the kitchen wasn't open the morning I went to view the place and walk around. But I looked at the menu and we were considering going back to have dinner that night but just got caught up with other things. Another place you may want to consider that I also looked at was the Seawind Club. It's the restaraunt within the Seawind Hotel. Online there aren't many photos available but if you look up seawind hotel weddings most of the receptions took place at Seawind. They have a bridge that can go over the pool so the wedding party walks over it and meets groom on other side. It was just beautiful. Perhaps they can email you the photos if you request them.
  20. I didn't do a wedding there but I did do a site visit when I was in JA last month. It's an intimate venue. What do you want to know about it? They have a website also. Are you having your wedding there?
  21. There are lots of photographers in jamaica if you do a google search. There is an association of phototgraphers there that will list them and have links to their website. If I remember I will post it for you.
  22. Some things to consider are: Invitations/RSVP Decor/Florals Photos/Video DJ Entertainment if applicable Cake Catering - Does villa have everything you need for the amount of ppl attending? i.e.:tables, linens, cutlery, etc. Alcohol wedding favours Does the church provide the officiant and do the paperwork? Accomodations for out of town guests And of course Attire for you, groom and bridal party
  23. I saw some bouquets that they have and was wondering how the final product looks when it is shipped. the price was less than $20 ea. I'd love to see photos if anyone has any they can share.
  24. Thanks Ladies! Fushcia it is. @Donna...that linen site listed above has a great sale on them. It works out to like 60 cents ea which is the same price of a rental co. At least this way you could sell them to another bride afterwards.
  25. Decor advice needed. Help pls!! Ok so if my colour scheme is grey and fuchsia, how far exactly do we carry this theme? Reason I ask is this. Was just checking out the linentablecloth website and had an idea to get fuschia napkins for the tables. My tablecloth is a dark grey ( i think gun metal when i think of the colour) and I figure this could add a pop of colour to it. My centrepiece is a cylinder vase with pink sunken orchids. and then I have two or three tealights around the vase. Other decor includes paper lanterns in fuchsia, white and grey. and that's really it. It's an outdoor reception which may be under a tent depending on weather. What do u guys thinks? White or fuschia napkins on the grey tablecloth? Thanks in advance for your help.
