  1. Why not put the groom in a vest to match the pants, or perhaps a tie?? A bow tie would be cute, depending on his style and comfort with that. He should definitely have a boutonniere of some sort too if he's not going to have any other accessories on him. At the end of the day, you have to remember he's the groom. The fact that he'll be beaming with the biggest smile, will definitely set him apart from his groomsmen. :-)
  2. I was considering doing a birdcage veil but then when I tried the dress I want (which I'm still undecided on) I realized it looked way better with the traditional veil. Now I want to have birdcage/fascinators made for my bridesmaids. They think I'm crazy but I think if they're not white they'll look amazing in them. What do you guys think? Am I nuts?
  3. What about renting some sort of boat to take everyone out on? Like a booze cruise but without the intent of getting everyone drunk. Just to relax with music and cocktails. That could take 2 hrs and then give guests the chance to freshen up before dinner. You could maybe have someone in your bridal party initiate some kind of a game that be revealed/winner rewarded to the bride and groom at the reception. ie: create a scavenger hunt along the strip in Negril or around the hotel Off the top of my head I can't think of anything more specific but if an idea comes to me I'll def let you know.
  4. I didn't even realize the show was this weekend. I may check it out. Thanks!!
  5. Question! When you fly in your photographer, do you pay for their flight, accommodation AND their wedding photography package?? I was wondering about this and felt like it may make more sense to just hire a certified professional from the destination I'll be heading to.
  6. The story and photos are great!! I'm prob going to copy this and do something very similar. It just looks like it's your personal web page. LUV IT!
  7. Do you have to stay at this villa in order to have a wedding here? Or can you just rent it out for the day and have your ceremony here? Does anyone know the answer to this question?
  8. I am considering Hummingbird Hall for my May 2013 wedding. Does anyone have any tips/photos or info they are willing to share that can help me with the planning please? Id be very grateful. I just returned from JA and did a site visit of the property. Very beautiful and intimate.
  9. I just returned from vacation in Montego Bay. The 200 ml bottle of jamaican rum can be purchased at the Mega Mart grocery store. I just saw them 2/$4 last week and they had a huge supply. Its probably worth the cab ride into town to pick them up. If you have them delivered it will probably cost you much more. There is a store called Sun Island (google it). They also have trinkets and stuff- coffee, rum etc. Def cheaper than buying it from the hip strip.
  10. I am currently looking at SeaWind Club as a wedding venue. If anyone has any reviews or info that would be helpful i'd appreciate it. Thanks!!
  11. Hi Ladies, I'm probably not having a wedding at Moondance Cliffs but wanted to drop a line to say that I attended a BEAUTIFUL wedding there last year. It's an amazing venue. The reception setup was just stunning. Claudette, your wedding website has inspired me to get on with the creation of mine and get save the dates out. My wedding will be in Montego Bay and I am looking at a few venues right now. Once confirmed I want to have everything prepared so I can just hit the GO button. Lol! I too am considering Sungold for my photography but they only have the associates available for my day. A friend used Marcia E. Roberts and I called for a quote. She is very reasonable and flexible. I may go that route. Anyways, good luck and congrats to all of you!
  12. I'm currently looking at having my ceremony/reception next door to Secrets at the SeaWind Club. I was in JA recently and had dinner there. One of the employees showed me photos of weddings they've done and it was BEAUTIFUL!!! I have a few children that will probably be in attendance so Secrets won't necessarily work for me. But what i saw of Secrets, I'm sure it will be beautiful. What sort of rates/packages are they offering you? Congrats!
