  1. Hey ladies, I had seen a post previously where someone mentioned that they had found a photography team that also consisted of a hair/makeup artist, but can't seem to find that post again! I'm wondering if anyone else has gone this route or found a similar team. It sounds too good to be true lol. This could potentially be a great way to save on vendor fees and essentially "kill two birds with one stone". Would this actually be your wedding day makeup they are referring to, or more geared towards day after shoots like TTD or similar?
  2. Did you end up using this shop? If so, how did everything turn out (would LOVE to see photos). Did your resort have any issues with you bringing flowers in from outside? Also wondering if anyone bought their own flowers in bulk and arranged their own bouquets?
  3. Hey, thanks for posting! I hadn't really considered flying in a local photographer just because the idea seemed so expensive. If the individual is a guest at the resort but providing a commercial service, the vendor fee is waived? What about work permits? Also, for the cost of travel alone, do most photographers provide editing, prints and digital copies or is that an extra fee?
  4. So many of the photographers sites I have looked at so far do not seem to list prices for their packages. Is this an industry norm? As I find it to be rather evasive. I am still in very early stages of wedding planning, so have not taken these steps yet, but are most photographers willing to give you straight forward pricing info if you contact them directly?
  5. These are super cute! Are you helping your BM's plan the party? Great job!
  6. Gorgeous! Wow! If you did it again would you have bothered with makeup? Did you just do your own hair as well? Who was your photographer, by the way? STUNNNING
  7. Good tips girls, thanks. I guess there will always be those people who just don't bother replying or those who keep you waiting until the last possible second. What can ya do, right.
  8. loooove the hand prints with the rings! Great idea for a thread.
  9. I agree, I think it's a fun & creative way to bring a bit of your personality to your ceremony! You could maybe add something like "any last words.." and maybe something cheeky towards/about the groomsmen already standing at the alter? Hmm... tough one...Love the idea though for sure.
  10. Thanks for the tips Abby. False eyelashes are a great idea (although I will have to learn to put them on...) Question...why is it that most people seem to do their TTD so early the morning after the wedding? There has to be a reason for this that I'm missing, lol. I will probably use the same dress I get married in, mostly to keep the luggage to a minimum ... another dress will just take up precious space haha.
  11. For savings like that, SOOO worth it!! I'll keep you posted with my dress hunting. I'm in no rush so have plenty of time to find the perfect deal
  12. I love this style. The bunching on the front tied together with the flower is so gorgeous. It looks great on you. Suits your body type perfectly. wish i could pull off something like that!
  13. MsBlissMpls, Your hair looked great!! And I agree, I think it looked even better once the wind hit it and the curls relaxed a bit! Beautiful!
  14. I love this type of venue idea for a reception, but am wondering (for any brides who have used this location below, or something similar) how private did the venue feel? Did you have other guests "invading" the area or attempting to wedding crash? The set up is just beautiful, but does it feel intimate enough?
  15. So the results are scattered...I have reviewed a few forums discussing this topic (although can't seem to find any more recent than 2009) and I am still left in the dark as to what time of year is best suited for a Riviera Maya wedding.... **I know that weather is never 100% predictable ANYWHERE, just looking for reviews/general consensus** Hurricane season? - officially starts August or September? I'm reading mixed reviews Duration of rain? - Short lived downpours similar to other areas of the Caribbean or does rain usually last fairly long? Temp? - I've looked at the weather networks average temps...fairly straightforward it seems...avoid June-August (True or False?) Busy Times? - Resorts are expected to be most crowded/booked for weddings between April-June (True or False?) Cheap Travel times? - Lower prices generally found during summer & hurricane season (True or False?) Other factors to consider? Any advice, experiences, clarifications, etc are greatly appreciated. It's these basic decisions, like WHEN to have our wedding, that have me stumped!
  16. I say stay with purple...add the turquoise as an accent colour....best of both worlds!!!
  17. This is a great starter thread! I think it deserves to be bumped! Us Newbies need all the help we can get!! haha
  18. I love the barefoot sandal idea!! Barefoot on the beach has always been my dream, and this is a cute way to dress it up a little. I'll probably have a pair of flip-flops on hand for the reception though.
  19. This thread is great for confidence boosting! Just have fun with it....best words I've read so far!! Where have all the photos gone? Is anyone else unable to see the links and pictures that the girls have posted? They all say removed to me... hmm..
  20. Are there videographers out there who will capture the actual ceremony as well? Most of the videos I'm seeing are pieces of the day all linked together and put to music...although these are STUNNING, and I would love to incorporate that, I feel if I am going to video tape the wedding I would love to get the whole ceremony - vows and all!! Anyone have good examples of these? Alos, Stefkva, what's an Animoto video?
  21. MJKH, can I ask which resort you got married at? An English ceremony is fairly important to me and my FI and may be the one thing holding us back from doing the legal ceremony in Mexico. We aren't too worried about the blood work, etc...but I totally understand where you other girls are coming from. It's a very personal choice, and I say do whatever makes you and your FI happiest...after all, its your day, and the start of YOUR marriage Jessica4LUXE, is this policy perhaps something specific to the resort you represent (and I'm sure others)? As if it is a legal thing, then how is it that some venues could offer this service? I appreciate the feedback!!
