  4. You guys should try X-Rated Fusion Liquor (it's in a big pink bottle) and grape soda. It's SOOOOO good!!!!
  5. Did you get the fireworks?! An epic song playing in the background like a soundtrack? I'm working my tail off to get to 150 and I better get something big at the end of this
  6. Congratulations!! I've been entering contests left and right and still haven't won anything But I'm going to keep trying!
  7. Wow you really are getting an early head start!! Congrats on your wedding, and the brochure looks great! - From another scorpio
  8. I love all of the cake toppers here! It's going to take me forever to decide on just one that I like
  9. lol!! Oh my goodness....I forgot about that cake!!
  10. All of these pictures are gorgeous! It's giving me some good ideas for our sweetheart table.
  11. We are doing coral, turquoise, and lime green. I wanted super bright, cheery colors, although I hope it doesn't end up looking like a rainbow threw up on my wedding
  12. I love the idea of a "pre-wedding" party instead of an AHR. By the time we get done with the wedding, I don't think I'd want to come home and have the stress of planning and throwing another party. I've asked my sister and mom to invite all of our friends to a casual BBQ instead of having a formal wedding shower. We have more guy friends than girl friends, so it will be way more fun instead of a stuffy Sunday afternoon wedding shower
  13. The actual link that she posted doesn't work anymore, but this is the website she's talking about. http://www.barmenus.com/
  14. Holy Cow! If it is legit, that's awesome! I have heard from alot of people that Vistaprint is awesome to work with and they are pretty generous with their discounts and freebies. There was another bride that talked about creating a couple of different projects in her "portfolio" and a couple days later she got a coupon emailed to her that basically made her projects close to free. I haven't had such luck, but keep us posted and let us know if you ended up getting all that for free. Maybe call their customer service # and just ask? Good luck!
  15. I'm actually interested in this as well. I'm planning on printing out some shared photo cards to put in the OOT bags, but I haven't decided which service I will be using. I would like to find one that is the easiest to use. We have some tech-challenged people attending the wedding, lol!
  16. Forgive me if I missed this question in all the pages in this thread, but has anyone had the opportunity to work with Pastor Rick's associate, Mark Lykins? If so, what were your thoughts?
  17. These pictures are getting me super excited that we went with HDC for our wedding in December! It seems like everyone had such a great/memorable time with them!
  18. I have to say, your pictures are positively amazing! I tried so hard to find someone in the DR who was able to take under water photos and unfortunately struck out
  19. I feel your pain on the awkward factor surrounding showers and a small destination wedding. It's such a catch 22. Extended family and acquaintances get upset because they weren't invited to the wedding. But then if you invite them, they are put off because they think you are just looking for a gift. And that's something else that kind of bugs me. I would ONLY say this on here where other brides would understand where I'm coming from, but don't you fee like you might be getting the short end of the stick when it comes to wedding gifts? I don't want any gifts from people attending the wedding, their presence truly is all the gift I could ask for. But for people not attending, I feel like there's this attitude of "I'm not attending your wedding, so why would I get you a gift?". And it might be all in my head...but I feel like I wouldn't feel so weird about the gift thing if I was having a traditional local wedding. I've also heard that you don't invite people to a shower unless you invite them to the wedding. So my thinking is, I will ask my mom and sister to word the invitation as less of a "shower" wording and more like a "send off the happy couple to become husband and wife". And my mom brought up a good point. Traditional wedding etiquette doesn't always transfer to a destination wedding. If everyone knows your having a DW, I would think that it would be ok to invite them to a local party (shower or AHR) to give them the chance to celebrate with you guys.
  20. I picked out a pre-maid pair on Etsy, but one pair was $30 which I thought was a little pricey. Can any of you tell me approximately how much you spent to make each pair? I love the idea of making them myself, it seems more personal!
  21. I hope it's ok that I vent for a second. I'm so glad to hear that I'm not the only one dealing with people who are all "Sorry, even though we got your invitation in the mail OVER a year ago, and have a reminder card and email sent to us, we just weren't able to save up the money". I also don't mean to be a bitch, but I had SOOOOO many people in the beginning tell me "oh yes, we would be able to afford to come, we will absolutely be there" and then flake out when it came down to booking. Two of the couples who pulled that, had DW weddings themselves and we attended BOTH. I just wish that people could be adults about it and just tell me they aren't planning on coming, instead of avoiding me all together. Grrr....I know in the end, the people who really matter will be there. But still.....SO frustrating! Rant over.
  22. I don't have any suggestions or experience with pregnancy during wedding planning, but I wanted to wish you a big congratulations on the pregnancy and upcoming wedding! I can imagine how incredibly overwhelmed you are. But the good part is that, ordinarily, a destination wedding is easier to plan than a traditional wedding. The idea of a DW is to have fewer decisions to make and someone to do most of the work for you. Also, as for the dress shopping, there are some BEAUTIFUL "beachy" wedding dresses that are flowy and less form fitting, so that might be your best since you might not know how much your body will change. Good luck with everything, and try not to stress too much! The wedding, baby, move to Tennessee....all wonderful things!
