  1. Congrats!!! And be prepared - there is a LOT of information out there. Just know what you want, and you'll do just fine. Remember, its all about you & your FI and YOUR day!!!
  2. Hi ladies, thanks so much for all the great info! I'm still trying to pick my spot and this thread has helped very much!
  3. "You can always get pictures taken together" - so TRUE!!! and my FI's step-mom is a photography teacher at a local high school, so I contemplated asking her to take some engagement shots, just havent yet. FI broke his foot the day after christmas, so we've been dealing with that situation ...
  4. At first I wasn't sure as I definitley can't afford to buy 2 dresses, but this thread changed my mind! These pics are so amazing and like many of you said, it really doesn't "trash" the dress anymore than normal wear & tear on your wedding day/night. Question though - is it that much more expensive to add on? I haven't even begun to look at photographers yet as I still haven't picked my resort, but will definintely want to include. Especially since we havent and dont plan on doing engagement pictures. Thanks again!!!
  5. When I'm in meetings or on conference calls, I practice signing my new name, as ill be going from 7 letters to 4, not major but still gonna take getting used to. At least my new last name will be easier for people to pronounce! =)
  6. Hey everyone, I'm still trying to pick our resort and am wondering if anyone else has dietary restrictions and the chef is willing to accommodate them. I am lactose intolerant, with my biggest issue being butter and 2 guests have celiac disease. I know some places such as PF Changs now have a Gluten-Free menu so just wondering if any resorts have them as well. It's not a deal breaker as we know how to choose things that will fit within our parameters, but it'd make it that much better if someone was willing to create a special menu, at least for one night. Thanks!
  7. Interesting, I'm November 16th and received the exact same, which is only true during a certain time of the month, if you catch my drift ....
  8. I get why they put that stipulation on there, but at the same time, i don't want to be a "post wh0re" and just put random things on peoples threads that are actually asking questions that i dont have answers to, to bump up my number, but alas, must follow the rules ... so here we go. wish me luck that i get there before my wedding, which is currently 14 months away ...
  9. LOVE it!!! I've been wanting to get someone in here to do a deep clean anyway .... and asked as a christmas present, but no one caught one ... hmmmm, guess i just will just have to schedule it myself!!!
  10. Hi all, I stumbled across this site a couple days ago and wow, there is SO much info to consider! I'm excited since I have picked a date, but now need to narrow down a place. I'm leaning towards the Riviera Maya area of Mexico. Any suggestions on how to pick the perfect spot? Thanks in advance!
  11. Is cabo that much more expensive? Because the majority of our guests will be coming from RI/DC area ....
  12. So, I have a similar dilemma - only, my issue is with having 2, yes 2 AHRs; one in RI (where I'm from) and one in CA (where my groom is from). My grandmas wont be able to make it to CA and some of his family & friends wont be able to make it to RI and we don't want to leave anyone out. These will both be small BBQ-type events, in our parent's backyards. We are already married, long story, but due to finances decided to just elope here in San Diego and we're keeping that secret from our other friends & family. But in looking at the difficulties in legally getting married in Mexico, I'm kind of relieved for one less thing to worry about, minus the secret part ...
  13. Hi everyone! I'm a March 2013 bride, in hopefully Mexico. But haven't decided on a place yet, or even a coast. My man and I live in san diego, and all of his family is in southern California while most of my family is from new england and my friends are east coasters as well. Anyone else have this dilemma? I'm leaning towards Riviera Maya/playa del carmen, as I want to venture to the ruins one day, but I'm sure the west coast has great things to offer as well. I also just stumbled across this site and there is SO much info out there, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. Guess its time to make wedding planning my 2nd job ....
