  1. Your invitations are gorgeous, I love the white starfish.
  2. This thread is really helpful, especially when you don't have a hot clue where to start and what online companies are trustworthy of delivering quality products. As I begin my online shopping journey, I will definitely add sites that I've used and hopefully I can find some new great retailers in the process!
  3. Damn, that is a good price. $20 to ship to Canada totally defeats the sale lol that's too bad!
  4. Love this colour! Everything looks fab, all the best as your big day approaches!
  5. I love the seashells and starfish...the colours look great!! And thats a great idea as MrsTgun suggested with turning it into a magnet favor.....all y'all are so talented. Here are some sample shells that will be decorating the table I was going for silver, white and different shades of blue. I based coated the shells and starfish with a Martha Stewart Pearl paint, and then use the Martha Stewart glitter paint on some of them so we had variety. I also purchased a clam shell at Hobby Lobby and painted it for a ring dish. I wanted to soften the dark purple on the dish, so I used an acrylic pearl white color an mixed it with a little bit of a clear base coat to soften the color of the shell. I had some extra ribbon and raffia and used the glue gun to secure everything with a pearl on the top! me playing with my rings And last but not least..our sand dollar escort cards. I had other intentions...like writing the 2012, and St. Thomas on the actual sand dollar so it could serve as an ornament, but it didn't work out so great with the pens I had (they bled and it looked terrible, thankfully I bought extra sand dollars just in case I screwed up), so I had to scrap the writing idea because of time and just went with making a name card for everyone and attaching it with ribbon.
  6. Your planning thread is fan-tab-u-lous...all the best as your big day approaches, your going to make a beautiful bride!!!
  7. Thanks for all your advice ladies. I emailed Paula at the Sungold email address and she got back to me within an hour.
  8. Great job on the planning thread!! Girl you are certainly on top of your game, I wish I had as much crossed off my list as you do...I need to get my butt in gear lol
  9. Hey I was just wondering if anyone out there has used or is using Sungold for their wedding photographers? Whether its Paula and Damian or their associates. I've been trying to get in touch with them since February and I've sent them 2 FB msgs and I filled out the form on their website and I even called their contact number. Is it typical of them to take this long to respond? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks
  10. So many cute ideas here, I'm not sure which one I'm going to go with. I was thinking of putting, "Sorry we can't handle the heat" for the decline part..I'll have to think about it some more.
  11. Tori everything you planned turned out amazing!!!!! You have provided so much inspiration, thanks for sharing with the rest of us BDW brides. You've influenced me to take on more DIY projects than I originally intended on doing lol...and btw I love love your dress!! Mine looks a bit similar and it's a San Patrick Pronovia. Just curious as to how you got all your wedding decor down to the DR?
  12. OMGEEE this made me laugh sooooo hard. lol lol I can't believe someone would actually do that. How could they have not realized it was used?!?! It's the wedding guest book WTH...
  13. Have any of you ladies heard of Seawinds Beach Club Resort in Mo Bay? It's located between Secrets St.James and Sunset Beach. I saw some photos from a couple who had their ceremony and reception there and it looked absolutely beautiful!!! I tried googling to see if I could find other photos but haven't found anything. It seems as though this is a resort for day/cruise guests mostly. Just trying to see if anyone out there has any more info, thanks ladies!
  14. Thanks for the luck!! Best of luck to you girl on this very special moment in your life, soon your going to be a wifey WHOOT WHOOOT !!!!!!!!!!
  15. Thanks for advice!! Holding the rooms is definitely something to keep in mind. My TA informed us that if we book our group rates and if the prices drop we are allowed one price adjustment. So I guess we'll see how much the prices go down in the next month or so if they do at all and perhaps my FI and I can put our deposits to hold to rooms at least that'll be secure.
  16. These are really cute, great find!! Which section of wal-mart were these located? Party section lol?
  17. Your slideshow is amazing Kimberli!!! Clayton did a damn good job and you and your hubby look like superstars, ya'll are so photogenic.
  18. Yes I do remember you telling me that you guys waited until closer to the date. I'm praying that the same price drop will happen for us as well or at least close to. If it does i'll be so happy Quote: Originally Posted by starrysim Hello lovely brides-to-be! So I'd be happy to answer any questions about the resort (We stayed at the Beach for the wedding and Grand for our honeymoon) and our vendors (Marcia Roberts, Rashel Edwards, Tai Flora). I'm also from Toronto, so let me comment on the prices, as I see there has been some discussion. I followed prices for about a year before our wedding, and if you book about 6 months ahead, the Beach is usually about 1600-1800, Suites is 1800-2000, and Grand is just way too expensive :-p. I would actually recommend booking 3-4 months before the wedding, and getting a group rate. I know how stressful it is, and hard to wait that long, but IME they don't sell out that quickly, and you get the best rate. When we were looking at 6 months before, it was $1700 for the Beach even with group quote. We finally booked the Beach for about $1400 for a group of 20 about 4 months before. Less than a month later, it dropped dramatically to $1200, and our travel agent managed to get us an adjustment (we threatened to forfeit our $200 deposits and just re-book at the new lower rates). Anyway, the point is, that last minute prices will go as low as $1100-1200 for Beach and $1300 for Suites. I don't recommend waiting last minute, but waiting until 3-4 months before and shopping around for the best group rate then is the best way to go IMO. In fact, tell your guests NOT to wait until last minute - for us, it sold out about 3 weeks before, and some people who were waiting lost out, they were NOT happy. Bottom line, book between 2-4 months ahead of time to get the best rate. If you want more peace of mind, then book a year ahead. lol
  19. Hey Sjay Thanks for the update!! I'm soo glad the prices have dropped a bit, let's hope they keep going down that route. Plus westjet tends to sometimes be more pricey so hopefully their competitors will release even lower prices
