  1. I cant find anywhere Im my "contract" signed Nov 7th about the charges to set up. Everything else that says $65 there is an " * "saying all rates are subject to change. My friend was married 5 years ago at a Palace Resort and she got pictures included in her complimentary wedding package!!
  2. I LOVE the duponi Silk. It is so light weight! I will have 2 of the 3 creneline removed when ever it comes in......
  3. I cant wait for my Dress to come in! I orderd it in October. Got the tears when i tried it on and it didnt even fit! Style #4106 LOVE the Dupoini Silk. It make me feel like I will be a "real Bride" after trying on do many dresses I knew would be too hot in Mexico in June!
  4. You cannot use any promtion dollars towards any optional services. You can only use them towards a weddings collection package. BUT, You can use them towards a My Palace Memories by KODAK. I was told that you get a palace photographer to take pictures anywhere on the resort at anytime during your trip. I was thinking of using this for a dinner, or by the pool or beach. Its obviously not even close to the same thing. Anyone can use this and it would be nice to have pictutres of your whole group taken by someone else.
  5. Yes, One of my friends 5 years ago did not and it wasnt a big deal. I wanst able to choose? Someone once told me they were "miffed" because they thought "Im not good enough to be invited to the ceremony, but they want me to come to the after party and bring a gift?" She was talking about someone else, but it always stuck in my head. My FI would have preferred just the wedding in Mexico, but I knew so many people would want to see me get married (Ive been in like 12 weddings with a large group of friends and Im the last one to have anything) I knew so many friends and family wouldnt be able to make it and would want to do something. This way I still get a shower and a full reception This way I never stressed about guests coming away. Everyone who can makes me super excited. OUt of 180 invited, we have 30 coming
  6. Last night after seeing this post I emailed Joannis: HI! I was hoping to get my wedding locations secured. I am getting married on June 25th at 6pm. I am just worried that a location I want to book will not be available because my wedding is "last". Id love the tucan gazebo and terrace for my wedding and cocktail/reception. I have my contract signed and dated November 7th 2011. Thank you for your time and response. Siobhan I just recieved this response: Hi Siobhan, I’m going to send you a wedding location request form so that you can fill out your choices. I can only reserve for any functions on your wedding day. Anything before or after, the locations will be subject to availability. Thank you! Not sure if this helps anyone, but its funny that Im over 100 days out and I'm able to book the locations this easily.
  7. WOW! Great thanks! Very well written! My TA has been in contact with Janina Mendoza? Is there someone else other than her I should email? I have not "talked" to anyone.
  8. I am getting married at the Moon Palace on June 25th, 2012. Our AHR is July 28th 6pm-12am at a Holiday Inn in MA. I invited all 180 guests to both. I knew I wanted a destination wedding, but I also knew how hard it is for people to fly and stay in Mexico. I ordered my invitations through www.zazzle.com. I had a Boarding pass invitation to the wedding in Mexico, a luggage tag "Save The Date" for the at home reception. I put "no flight required" on one side with the reception info. I also added a post card "response card" to stay within the theme. I didn't have any formal response to Mexico, just a book by date. I also didn't have the response cards due back until June 14th (before we leave for MX). I sent them out right after Thanksgiving. I wanted everyone to have ample time to decide, and I wanted to let them know the AHR details so they can mark their calender and it gave them something to respond to if they couldn't swing MX. Ive been receiving the responses all along, and most people wrote, cant make Mexico, but will celebrate in the US. My invitations were 200 dollars for everything! (I used a 50% off promo code for the invites.) The one thing I have heard, which all along was my hope, was that no one felt pressure to attend or not attend the destination part. I think because of the AHR invite. Tim and I along with our parents will be there.....anyone else is a bonus. Best part is....my invitations were done in November, and I haven't had to worry about a thing! The 30 guests that are coming are amazing!!! I cant wait, and I cant wait to live it all over again at the AHR. AND wear my dress twice Money well spent!
  9. Great favor idea!!! We are having a big reception 1 month after we get back. Its supposed to be less stress, but I want so many "fun" things . Pinterest is killing me ;0
  10. I never even thought of the AHR and ruining the surprise of pictures and how we look.....YIKES!! I really need to rethink that. My entire family is on FB...and all my guests. I am planning on wearing my dress at the AHR too. hhhmmmmmmm. Its one month later.
  11. I would be so upset with MP as well! I just emailed her, I was happy to wait for 3 months out, because I myself dont really want to deal, but now I'm getting nervous that ill never hear from anyone!
  12. Im so glad i stumbled upon your post. I am getting married at the moon palace in June and I was thinking of using my parents BOSE stereo as well. We will prob still do our dances but we dont need an introduction? We will have about 30 guests. We are also haveing a big reception back home with a DJ, and announcements. How did it work out?
  13. Hi ladies, I am getting married in less than 4 months! Ive been growing in the past year but even more since buying/gutting a house for 2 months! Mid January I started WW and have lost 9.6 pounds. At first it was coming off quick, but its slowed down. When you strt working out more as most of you have, sometimes you dont eat enough! if your burning major calories and not eating enough your metabolisim will stall and go into storage mode. For all you with little losses..Im sure your measurements have gone down..and a loss is a loss! Im thinking tomorrow may be my first gain after February vacation..... The countdown is on, my dress should be in soon, and I really need to break up with wine. Its just so hard (as I have a glass next to me now). Drinking and engagement and now wedding countdown just go hand in hand.... Im psyched to have found this thread.... Thanks
  14. Congratulations SFedEsq !! Just an FYI the catholic ceremony is only symbolic. I wanted to do that but we would have had to have and pay for a civil ceremony as well. I was doing the catholic to please our parents, so we ended up going with a civil ceremony only. One of my most favorite parts of a friend's ceremony 5 years ago (Aventura Spa Palace) was how they signed their documents, witness' signed the documents and they did their thumb prints right in front of us. It was so beautiful and meaningful to watch because its not a typical part of a ceremony with JP or priest around here. I knew I wanted that part from the beginning! Also, if you were to get married before leaving, I dont think the priest would marry you, it would be a JP. It was all very confusing, so we scratched it right away. I was a little bummed becuase the pictures of the Catholic Gazebo (a thread on here) were beautiful...and I believe it is air conditioned Maybe someone who went through the catholic ceremony could clear up the logistics a bit further! I still havent picked reception locations yet. I have about 28 people booked. Having skimmed some of the posts though it seems response times in the Miami office leave something to be desired, so I was hoping I could direct two big questions to you ladies and see if you can give me some clarity before we take any concrete steps with Moon Palace. First, legal marriage in Mexico: I'm not so excited about this proposition for a variety of reasons. I see some couples choose a civil ceremony before they leave the states and have a symbolic ceremony at the resort. My fiance and I are planning on a Catholic ceremony. Can anyone tell me...If we are not legally wed in Mexico, can we still have a Catholic ceremony? Now, the second hang up: I always envisioned an outdoor reception and I know Moon Palace has some fantastic outdoor venues. But, I'm marrying in to a very large family and what I thought would be a 30-50 person affair is looking more like it could easily be a 100-120 person affair. Are there outdoor venues at Moon Palace that can accommodate such a crowd? Or would we be relegated to one of the ballrooms on property? From what I've read so far, this is an incredibly helpful exchange of information and ideas. If we ultimately settle on MP, I look forward to joining in the fun. Congratulations to all of you!
  15. Thanks Jamie! I do have in the wedding brochure that was sent to me says 8pp per table. Im just waiting to see if the last few people book, which would be a surprise, then we get unlimited functions, but we will have more tables! Ha!! Its going to be awesome no matter what, and the more you "plan" ahead of time the more stressful it becomes when it doesnt work out. The whole reason for us going away was to be stress-free. Im going to enjoy the last few weeks of "non-planning"
  16. I agree we never know what time it is because no one wears a watch!!!!! what a cute idea!!
  17. Great!!!! I thought I had heard that before. Im Just not sure how quickly things change
  18. How does the moon palace outside vendor policy work with marvin? Id love to use him to add more flowers to my ceremony and function!
  19. I am doing the complimentary package with add ons...although Im not sure what??? I definately want the horse drawn carriage! I have also reached 65 room nights booked and I am thinking thats going to be about it. However, I would love to be surprised by a couple more, but having an AHR makes it easier for people to celebrate with us back here. I have loved not having to deal with the moon palace directly! My Travel Agent has done all the coorespondence I am just waiting for my 90 days out phone call. I know some people have been having problems and I am hoping to know exactly what I want by the time they call me. So I have a few questions for all you experts! What should I do with my 2 hour function-does it include dinner? Id like it to be 4 hours with a buffet and use PSAV. How many people per table? Was that ever figured out? and how much is it per hour to extend? I feel like there is no straight set answer? Is it in my contract? I know you all have been going back and forth and Ive been following everything, I just want to make this as stress-free as possible. I envy all your creativity and hard work!!! ~Siobhan
  20. THANKS!! Awesome! I know I want a gazebo. Are they all against the water? I love this! So this is the Nizuc side? Does anyone know if there is anyway to combine the cocktail and reception so they both happen in the same place? I still dont know how munt guests we will have. I think between 25-35? Im not sure what type of post wedding activities we are going to have. I just dont want to move between 3 places in like 4 hours.
