  1. AlmostMrsRJF: My TA just sent a wedding to Mexico. I think Secrets. Anyway, the bride sent a box of stuff for the OOT bags, and it got held up in customs. They were unable to get the bag through customs in Mexico at all. My TA's son even works for the FBI and he said since it was Mexico there was nothing he could do. So if at all possible, I wouldnt send anything down there ahead of time! Just an FYI
  2. I'm not formally telling anyone that, I'm just spreading the word. I just say that coming to Mexico is the ultimate gift...I went to a destination wedding before and once someone knows that they don't need to buy gifts on top of a trip, word spreads fast. Many people who cannot go away still want to do all the "wedding" stuff for you though, and be part of such an important time in your life. I still registered and everything! You also get 10% off registry items up to six months after your wedding date so that's worth it as well!!
  3. Thanks for starting this thread!!! Thank you so much Mpweddingplan!! Awesome pics! This allows me to have a better idea of where I want my locations to be once I am able to book them. I was told that the sunrise section was the most fun?? I like the idea of being in the middle though? I heard the sunrise lobby was huge and they have a differnt theme night every night, asian, chocolate, ect..and its a great meeting spot for a large group to gather. Im still unsure where I want to stay. I need to print a map of the resort.....
  4. Its been a while since Ive been on here because we are renovating a house and have 1 month to do so...I mean gutted kitchens and bathroom...its so stressful right now!!! The last thing on my mind is the wedding...until yesterday----I met with my TA and a Palace representative from here in MA. I discussed the cost of the "reception" and they reminded me of the number of free nights you will receive with the bookings....so that made it a little easier to ponder a reception as even a choice. We are also having an AHR so I'm still up in the air about it. One of my BFF's got married at the Aventura Spa Palace 5 years ago and we (35 of us) had the dinner reservation, and went to the lobby bar after wards....it wont matter what you do, everyone will have a blast!!
  5. Im only having a shower because we are having an AHR. The majority of our guests won't travel to Mexico. ( Im sure of it, alothough everyone was invited) For our guests traveling we dont want any gifts, shower or wedding...xmas and birthdays for that matter as well!! That is so nice of the girls to want to do that for you!! maybe they can host a bon voage party or something??
  6. Thank you! Everyday I log on I get new questions and answers!!
  7. This site just gets better and better!! Thank you to all who posted their song lists!!! I am copying and pasting to one word doc and this will be such a great resource for me to compile my list from!!
  8. I am meeting with Susan Solomon, a Palace Resort Representivie, and my Travel Agent on December 12. My TA has been in contact with the resort 100% on my behalf which has been great! Susan wants me to compile a list of questions ahead of time so she can have everything answeered when we meet!!! I have a million questions...and none at the same time!! I just dont know what to ask I dont have enough posts to see anything on this site. Its hard, and I dont want to fill up the thread with posts for the sake of making 150. Ive learned so much from this site already!! I could get questions that maybe any brides to be have and answer them for us all??? So... besides menus and spa pricing...and room blocking....what should I ask? ~Siobhan
  9. I got a dress by Paloma Blanca. It is duponi silk, so its really lightweight, and still has a full skirt (I will remove 2 of 3 layers underneath). I was thinking Id have to go with a short dress. I couldn't believe how light it was after trying on less expensive dresses that were heavy material (even though they appeared to be light weight). I am getting married June 25, so it will be HOT. As soon as I put it on I cried! It was everything I didn't think I would be able to have for a wedding in June in Mexico! I am paying double what I wanted to....but I get to wear it at my AHR too!! So it all equals out I am wearing a short vail. My BFF is letting be "Borrow" hers!
  10. WOW! You should really think about doing this as a side job!!!! How do you choose your menu???
  11. MEESH- I am getting married on June 25th. We were going to do the chapel but after finding out that it is not a legal ceremony, we are just going with the civil ceremony alone. The chapel is beautiful and I am so disappointed they do not consider it legal....in the catholic capital of the world! My friend was married at the Aventura Spa Palace 5 years ago and it was beautiful! I loved how they signed the documents, their witnesses signed and they even had their prints done in front of us. I'm hoping things haven't changed too much since then! My TA has been in touch with MP for me, its been wonderful, but I would really like to have my wedding coordinators email just for later. After reading through this forum I'm pretty sure us June brides wont have any answers till about April! I am meeting with a Palace resort Rep and my travel agent Dec 12...I'm not sure what i need to ask. I have no idea which section I want to stay in and or where to have my ceremony or receptions. The reviews on here have been great and I think I may just print out pictures and show the rep to identify the places??? Id love a copy of any menus and questions you received!! I should get my non DIY invitations in the mail this week and I will be sending them out by the end of the month. We are having an AHR so i have no idea how many people will come. We are hoping for 40!! In the meantime, we have signed a P&S on a house that needs alot of work....nothing like having everything happen all at once!! Love love this site

  13. YAY! I love love this website! I could spend hours on it a day. I have just ordered the Insanity DVDs and will be starting at biggest loser cometition at work. It will be graet to do it with a bunch of people! I am getting married in June and really want to drop 40 pounds. I know thats going to be so tough because I love eating and drinking wine!!!
  14. Hi Everyone! I know I will get my answers here first My TA just called me and notified me that the Catholic Ceremony in Mexico is not legal. Has anyone been married by Fr Benito? They charge 350 for him, and thats fine but Im just not sure if we will have to pay for a civil ceremony as well? I dont know how marriage licenses work and I dont have a problem getting to town hall and doing it in Massachussetts ahead of time?? I just do not want two ceremonies down there. Since it will be late June I like the idea of the air conditioned chapel, but now Im having second thoughts..and I need to know by TUESDAY!

    Moon Palace

Hi everyone! My name is Siobhan and I am getting married at the Moon Palace in Cancun on June 25th at 6pm in the Catholic Gazebo?? I think. I am in the beginning stages, and feeling a little overwhelmed! We are also planning an At Home Reception for July. I am hoping to find all of my Moon palace inside information on here, since Ive never been. We are hoping to have about 40 people join us in Mexico. We will be a large group of 30 somethings looking for a picture perfect wedding, good times as well a sunshine and relaxation!! Anyone with any suggestions on where to begin while planning my wedding events will be extremely helpful!
  16. Congratulations!! Happy Planning!!
