  1. Merrylee, You are so right! I especially love that you said that we are entitled to change our mind every day if we want to! Great advice. These are emotional situations. Stay strong.
  2. We are timeshare owners at an AI resort in the Riviera Maya. We negotiated several corporate weeks (which are free weeks) when we bought the timeshare a year ago thinking we might want to get married there. Even if we decided on another place for the wedding we would have the corporate weeks for ourselves to use in the future. We ended up deciding to get married there. So now we can let our close friends and family use our corporate weeks to stay the week for free, they just need to pay their mandatory per person AI fee of $99/day. Some resorts have an AI option, but this resort doesn't...it is mandatory. However, I've been there before and can assure all my guests that the food is delicious. There are 7 or 8 restaurants to choose from. Not to mention the bars have great variety, not just wells like many of the other AI resorts. So for us and our guests, the AI is way more cost effective.
  3. Great OOT bags. You did an amazing job. I can't believe you got all those items for free from Vistaprint. Very impressive. I hope to get it together and start getting free stuff too.
  4. Kat2012, Beautiful shoes. Love the color. I can't make out the brand. What are they and where did you get them? I want to wear red shoes too.
  5. I've been planning for a few months and still don't know most of the "wedding vocabulary" words. I don't think I'll ever know.
  6. 68 people! Wow! Have a great time. I'm so happy that no one complained about the cost. You have a great group.
  7. Congrats and welcome. There are many beautiful places to get married. If you are considering Mexico, check out Hacienda Tres Rios.
  8. I really want to give out OOT bags, but it's too early to start buying the items since I don't know how many guests will be attending. I definitely want to include a beach tote and bubba keg. I also wanted to do party flops but was thinking it might be a better idea to hand out the flip flops at the reception, so people keep dancing all night long (esp. the ladies that will wear heels that may get tired and will be very grateful for flip flops). What does everyone think?
  9. I agree. I would only call people like an older relative that perhaps isn't good with the internet. Other than that, people can RSVP or I will assume they are not attending. Calling people will probably just open the door for them to tell you their opinions...like how expensive or inconvenient it is for them. Don't do that to yourself.
  10. If money was no object: I would rent a private island so my dog could attend the wedding and run around loose during the reception. And I would pay for all of our guests' expenses.
  11. I probably won't get to 150 before the wedding, but I am learning so much.
  12. Yes, check out fireflybuys.com. The link below should take you to the 20oz 24 pack for $166.98 including free shipping. That works out to $6.96 per mug. I haven't gotten mine yet because I don't know how many guests I will have yet. Wish I could just buy them already because I think this is a good price. http://fireflybuys.com/p-823-bubba-brands-bubba-keg-20-oz-slate-travel-mug-24-pack-combo-pack.aspx
  13. For you ladies that already got married, did you contact the officiant ahead of time regarding the ceremony script? Or did you wait until you got there to discuss it with them?
  14. Right now, I feel like I should be doing more, but I can't since I don't know how many guests will actually be there. It is way too soon to stress about it. My biggest DW stress factor is definitely all the unknowns due to not knowing who will actually go. I suppose I will set a cutoff date and use the number of guests that have booked by that point. When should the cutoff date be?
