  1. yes, i also loved the idea of the boca clips. must try that with the personalized towels.
  2. my advice? do what you're comfortable with. With destination weddings, your guests will have already interacted with each other that conversations will be free and flowing and there really is no need for "entertainment". just get them to dance and party the night away!
  3. I agree with Erica. It's your party, after all. for me, an AHR is a great way to include friends and loved ones who couldn't make it to the DW. it will be a shame if they don't get to see you in all your wedding glory, so rock that gown!!! more gown exposure = better, at least IMHO. just my two cents' worth.
  4. Here are my picks. I wanted something classic yet updated so I opted for pearls and cubic zirconia.
  5. Have two MOHs! that will double the fun... maybe you just need to have definite assignments for each to avoid overlaps.
  6. Here is a source for wedding sparklers: http://www.sandsationalsparkle.com/A-Perfect-Sparkle-Wedding-Sparklers_p_15831.htmlIt m It may be best to have it shipped to your wedding location. From what I know, firecrackers are prohibited even in checked in luggage at airlines.
  7. Agree. OOT bags are an extra yet important touch to say how much I appreciate all the effort (and money) my friends and loved ones spent just to be with us. After all, scheduling a leave and spending for an out of town trip is no joke. I actually will be giving out the OOT bags before we leave, sort of like a primer package. the bags themselves won't be elaborate, just little somethings that will make the trip more comfortable and enjoyable - like tickets to local tourist attractions, discount vouchers for local stores, and so on.
  8. i love the readings! now, I'm going to tweak the reading I already have and incorporate some of the beautiful lines from here.
  9. I'm also planning to have a wedding sand ceremony. We'll be reciting a poem by Katherine Murphy Grant, entitled "Wedding Gifts" as we pour the sand. "Wedding Gifts†Grant us O Lord, the gift of words, Kind and loving words that communicate and encourage, words of wisdom from you. (pour a color) Grant us O Lord, the gift of attention, rapt listening to the needs of one another and the casting aside of all focus on ourselves.(pour a color) Grant us O Lord, the gift of acceptance, the ability to recognize our differences and see in one another the unique person you created. (pour a color) Grant us O Lord, the gift of patience, not only with each other as we grow and change but to know that all good things come in your time.(pour a color) Grant us O Lord, the greatest of all the gifts, Love – on this day and always – as we join together in the sacred union of marriage.(pour a color) I'll be getting a unity sand vase that is personalized with our names and the words, "This day, I married my Friend"
  10. Our version of the OOT bag would be more of a primer that's sent out before the trip to get rid of the hassle of having to lug all that stuff as I would have loads of other things to bring with me. I was thinking of including: - a mini travel guide (including the itinerary and schedule, contact numbers and maps) - discount coupons to tourist attraction or to local stores - t-shirts printed with our wedding logo - some postcards - one for us for our guest book and two stamped postcards - a pair of flip flops - and these cute luggage tags:
  11. love your tiara! It's elegant without going overboard. wish I'm also lucky to have such a find!
  12. if you need the height, wedges should do the trick. or, you can consider flipflops or flat sandals. you don't want to botch your wedding march by having your heels stuck in the sand every so often!
  13. Real flowers sound really cute but if you are worried about them wilting or dying throughout the day, maybe get more than 1 made? My cousin had a beautiful white silk flower on her wedding day and I did her hair and it looked so pretty. I am also thinking of going with something similar for my wedding. Something like this http://www.sandsationalsparkle.com/White-Satin-Wrapped-None-Headband_p_10146.html or http://perfectdetails.com/claire-comb.htm?Category_Code=Sara-fascinators.
  14. Thank you for starting this thread! We are doing a sand ceremony as well and it's good to get some more ideas! Have you already gotten a sand ceremony kit? We found some really nice ones at sandsationalsparkle.com! They had such a variety of colors as well! We aren't sure if there's any other good places that sell them?
  15. I need some help, i don't know which one to decide on the orange redish rose or the pink one. I found some inspiration and some good ideas from sandsationalsparkle.com and hoping that i could get what i want for my money's worth. Also i would like my bouquet and centerpiece to be simple but also elegant.
