  1. The huppa is definitely included, and I BELIEVE the basic decoration (white tulle and artificial flowers) should be included to. It is at the Suites at least. If you have gotten any paperwork on the wedding package it should say on there.
  2. Malikmakhi: thanks, definitely do that! BTW everybody, I was so fed up with waiting on flower quotes that after I saw DeAngelis' quotes I decided to give Godfrey an email. I started receiving info and pictures back from him within less than 30 minutes. Such a change from most wedding related things in Jamaica!!!
  3. Jamaica 2012- I think it's totally up to your preference- a wedding can look perfectly amazing without flowers. Having your bridesmaids (if you have them) carry parasols, and using ribbons, tulle, candles, shells, etc for decor can be gorgeous and extremely cost efficient. I absolutely love what MrsTgun did in her planning thread with the spray painted shells- I may have to try that one! ***I have a question for you all- I'm going to do my wedding on the terrace at the Suites (I love heels too much to go on the sand, although it was a hard decision!!). Anyways, they only have the rounded wedding arch for up there, and I'm not crazy about the rounded shape and iron at all. I SOOOO wish I could somehow have a huppa up there!!! I was thinking to thickly wrap it in satin and tulle (so you can't see the iron), and hang either ribbons or strings of capiz shells across the back as well. Does anyone have any thoughts of how this would work or anything else I could do???
  4. So I ordered a dress through Ideeli that ended up being a little too big for me and just not exactly what I was wanting, but I waited too long to be able to send it back. It's the Sue Wong one I posted a while back (sz 4). If anyone is interested in it let me know. It's really a very pretty dress, just not for me. Anyways, I'm off to Minneapolis next week and hoping to find something at the MOA- wish me luck!!!

  6. Ahhh MrsTgun, I'm still laughing over your post!!! Thanks for putting my thoughts into words.
  7. Starrysim, Totally agree with daizyduke!! I debated getting a size smaller than they recommended because things always seem to be too big for me when I order by measurements. SOOOOO glad I didn't- there's NO way it would have fit. So much easier to alter in. Looks beautiful!
  8. Marlena- I tried to email Jodi twice and never received a reply (at all), so I got frustrated. Maybe I'll have to try again. Another company was responding to me until I asked for something more detailed, and then I never heard back. Argh! Recently I started working on my luggage tags, guest book pages, money holder inserts, etc. They are going really well! I've definitely learned my way around Word! I'm taking a trip to Minneapolis in two weeks and am hoping to pick up some wedding finds there as well. Not too many options around here and there's only so much you can do online without seeing things first. I wanted to do a boudoir shoot but then decided against it because of cost. I'm rethinking though, because I can't think of a present my fiance would be more ecstatic about...
  9. Just as a thought for the several ladies who are getting married in early December: a friend who has yet to book called my travel agent today, and was told she could only book the 3rd-8th, because the 9th was sold out. When I looked online they had no availability for the 7th or 8th either. WOW. Luckily all of my people except 2 are booked. I don't know if some are reserved for travel agents or what, but it's crazy.
  10. Your dress is absolutely AMAZING!! Looks gorgeous, and that pic is on the beach is fantastic! I hope I get ONE picture that looks that good.
  11. I think the criss-cross material looks good actually!! I wouldn't change it.
  12. I am having the hardest time with finding paper for my programs/ menus!! Ugh!! I need a bright blue metallic and the closest thing I have found yet is Lagoon, which I luckily ordered samples of and it's way too green. I've tried all the paper sites and am so frustrated! I also had really good correspondence going with some florists, but as soon as I asked for more specific quotes, silence ensued. I'm starting to feel the pressure to really get moving on things. How about you ladies??
  13. It's definitely the same one I have, they must buy from a wholesaler... Great bracelet though.
  14. Ok, I already got my shoes, but I have to know where you got these?! They're so perfect!! Wish I had found them before my others!
  15. Cdunn, is that Misunbridal? I have the same one but with crystals in place of the pearls. I really like it, and it is great quality.
  16. I emailed Nicole to ask her the size of the square tables used at Aunt Ruby's, as well as what they could do for seating when we do our dance/ bonfire on the beach. Here are her responses: Tables for 4 pax: 90 cm x 90 cm (35.4 x 35.4 inches) Tables for 2 pax 70 cm x 90 cm (27.5 in x 35.4 in) Both are 77 cm height ( 30 inch) The tablecloths we use in the restaurants are 170 cm x 170 cm (67 x 67 inches), and they reach to the middle of the table, not to the floor. About the beach, we usually set a few cocktail tables and some chairs around, no extra cost.
  17. The nice things about studio suits too is most suits are $100, which is less than to rent anywhere. I would direct them to a specific place and specific color..... We are doing a "blessing" ceremony since my fiance wanted to be married at home. We just aren't telling anyone when we're doing it. So we'll actually be married and for a while it gets to be our little secret. It bothered me at first, and I've just had to find other ways to look at it.
  18. I'm also going with Studio Suits. I think we'll do linen suits with cotton dress shirts underneath, and ties. Then after the ceremony the guys can take off their jackets.
  19. Hi Sandjmod! I'll be arriving at the Iberostar on your wedding day! Mine is the 6th at the Suites... so exciting that you will be at the resorts at the same time! Hope all your planning is going well...
  20. Hey, They can do as many people as you want- the more people you have the more the price goes down per person. I don't think that's too many people to get ready in a room, but it all depends on your space preferences...
  21. Nikadawn- I've totally been pondering the same thing lately!!! You just can't have a bonfire without marshmallows!
  22. Well, with Zappos, think of it this way: if you order a pair and don't LOVE them, you can always send them back for the other pair, and you're not out anything.
