  1. If any of you are planning on doing your own clip-ins here are few tips I found to be helpful : Before cutting the weft of hair, measure where you will be applying the extensions and then cut. Buy thick thread (doesnt neccessarily have to be made for extensions, any thick thread will do) it holds better and can withstand hairspray. Make sure your clips are facing downwards and closed before attaching them. Insert the thread in the clip first, then sew it into the weft (it's a lot easier this way) Sew in the two holes that are on each side of the clip as well as between the teeth of the clip with tension and make a knot at the ends for security. The clips should not be sewn in at the very ends of the weft, leave a little (very little) of the weft hanging over the ends so the clips do not show. If you plan on wearing your hair curly/ wavy buy hair that is already a bit waved, the curls will last longer. Have fun and do this with plenty of time so you can test them out before your big day
  2. Very Charlotte from Sex in the City...love it. You look like you are pretty petite so tea length is a great call
  3. Thank you Gabi:) Aside from being new to Cancun I am new to BDW and I think it is GREAT. I have a full inventory of cosmetics and hair neccessities.I fly to Los Angeles every 8 weeks to re-stock and keep up on what is the hottest product out there.I have been in this business for over 12 years and LOVE IT! If you ladies have any beauty questions or need hair tips I would be more than happy to share my knowledge with you. Thank you and happy planning
  4. You should check out Gabi w/ [email protected]/www.planner1events.com she comes highly recommended by many.
  5. Hi rknanuwa, I tried using my Pro card in Cancun and they were like, "computer says noooo" may be different in Playa but doubt it. If you are just shopping, cool but if youre looking for something specific you may want to bring it. on two separate occassions they did not have what I was looking for. Cheers
  6. Being from Los Angeles I sometimes get caught up in the bling of things but imo a hair flower should never be used if you have on a tiara. It will be too busy and it will take away from one another. Depending on the size of your tiara you can wear it with the veil for the ceremony and then take them off for the reception and add the flower...bam, best of both worlds
  7. Tweets.13, have you asked Gabbi for any vendor referrals regarding a cake? Im sure she can assist you, she is very well informed.
  8. Herbie76, could you possibly ask the hotel to meet you in the middle...you only pay 1 vendor fee??

  10. I agree w/ mmcst38, you look great. The dress was made w/out the belt to show off those delicate buttons. A belt may take away from all the other detail. Your waist TOTALLY shows:)
  11. TO ENSURE YOUR MANICURE LAST, USE CUTICLE OIL BEFORE TAKING A DIP IN THE POOL.
  12. I HAVE NOTICED MANY BRIDES HAVE THESE QUESTIONS ON THEIR MIND... WHAT STYLE OF HAIR/MAKE-UP SHOULD I WEAR? SHOULD I USE AIR BRUSH MAKE-UP? HOW WILL THE WEATHER AFFECT MY HAIR/MAKE-UP? SHOULD I WEAR A VEIL,BROOCH, TIARRA,FLOWERS? I HAVE FINE HAIR, SHOULD I USE HAIR EXTENSIONS? DO ANY OF YOU HAVE SIMILIAR QUESTIONS/DOUBTS? IF SO, WHAT ARE THEY?
  13. You dont always have to be in the water to have the TTD vibe to your photos. Also, you can always change your shoes to something a bit more funky, perhaps more dramatic eye make-up and a hair style you wouldnt neccesarily wear and of course props always help. Maybe wear black spanks so they show on purpose? Anything goes, have fun be creative
  14. Gabi with Planner1 is amazing. I have had the opportunity to work with her on several occasions and all her brides are always raving about her. Her info is www.planner1events.com/[email protected] Happy planning
  15. Im working with a bride who will be having 3, yes! 3 dress changes. Different hair/ makeup to go along with every gown. I say, if EVERYTHING is done and you have time to look for dress #2 GO FOR IT! Its so much fun getting dolled up the day of your wedding and now you get to do it twice?!? Just dont make any decisions until you have everything in order for dress #1, shoes, accessories & hair/make-up. You chose dress #1 for a reason maybe you just need to get excited about it again.
  16. Have you considered having the dress made? I dont know if I would alter a dress too much from its original state, it may not fall right. Maybe you can start a new thread "Looking for a seamstress in (area you live in)" Also, stay open minded, try on various styles of dresses, you never know:) Just have fun, this stage of the wedding doesnt last forever.
  17. While doing your own hair/make-up is comforting (because you know youre not going to make yourself look terrible) there is a flip side to this. Me, being a professional hair and makeup artist in Cancun I would never think of doing my own hair and makeup for my wedding day just as I would never bake my own cake (and Im pretty good if I do say so myself) for the wedding. No matter how many different products you buy, your application will probably be the same as always...and dont you want to look "special" not different just a better you? Its important you find the right person who you feel at ease expressing your ideas, worries and expectations so that all you have to do is relax and look beautiful. You deserve it.
  18. Hi 11-11-11 Bride! There are a few things to factor in when deciding how to wear your hair on that big day...shape of your face, style of your dress and of course the weather. Some parts of Cancun are windier than others. 1/2 up, 1/2 down is always good, you get the best of both worlds.
