  2. This was so very helpful. I now am laughing at what i thought some of the abbreviations stood for lol
  3. Thats exciting! Congrats! I ordered my dress from Lightinthebox.com and it came in last weekend. I could not be happier! It is perfect!
  4. Super Cute! Can't wait to start my own Planning Thread
  5. Great suggestion, Tina! It gives me an excuse to lose a few pounds myself
  6. I love the idea of sending flowers. Some of us have fabulous fiance's but don't recieve flowers enough. CUTE idea

  8. I feel like 150 is so far away
  9. Im so far from 150! I don't know if i'll ever get there lol
  10. Are any of you planning to have a mariachi or steel drum band? I wonder if they could play something special just for that moment for you and your dad. It could make it a really cool moment
  11. Hey Co-Brides! Do any of you have an updated map of the property? I've found one online but have don't believe it is a current one as I can't find the Bamboo Room or Blue Bar on the map. I'm putting together a Welcome book for my guests and want to provide them with the info. THANKS for your help! Robin
  12. Most resorts have either a safe in the room or one you can request to have delivered. I asked my sister (who also had a DW) and she said she did not recieve any gifts during the trip. All 75 guests waited until her AHR. Here's hoping for her luck
  13. Tracy- Did she charge you extra to set up the lanterns? Thanks! Robin
  14. I was worried about that at first, but decided to book with a resort that doesn't have a specific check in-check out agenda. Also, because we live in a larger city, in the states, there are multiple flights per day into Cancun airport. Hope that helps is any of you are trying to make a decision
  15. Daisymable: I am not positive on what the cost for shipping would be. My zip code i would be sending from is 45249. Let me know what the cost would be and if you'd be interested. Dominiqueamber: YES, you can use them to burn music on as your favor. What I liked most about the cases is that you can personalize the cover since the case is clear. I noticed that you are in VA. I am sure I could ship all 48 cd's and 50 cases for less than $10. Probably only $5. Let me know if you're interested
  16. It was a huge success, in my opinion. Our goal was to get our guests excited and book and it worked! We burnt them on little mini cd's (that are for sale in this thread if you're interested: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/66776/std-discs-and-cases-for-sale#post_1508519 ) Because we had plenty of time before our wedding we were able to hand deliver a lot of the invites. We had an engagement party that my sister hosted for us and kind of had a little 'viewing party" for the slideshow. BHefore the guests left, we sent them home with a copy on disc. Others than i don't see often (like out of town family/friends) i was able to drop in a small padded envelope and mail for only $0.66! Another cool thing about the mini CD's I thought about doing, was to add all of our favorite songs or just music to get people in the mood for the trip. My FI made a good point that most people use MP3 players or ipods but could still listen to some tropical tunes before we leave. I've been to weddings were the favor was a personalized CD. I still listen to that cd in my car even 3 years later lol.
  17. For my STD, we made a short slide show and burnt them on copies of the small CD-R recordable 'mini' CD's. If you've ever recieved one before, you know how cool they are! Our guests were so excited to open them up, pop them in their computer or dvd player, and here about out wedding plans. Here is a link of what we put on the disc: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSuBOB4l4HA&feature=recentlik Items for sale: 48 mini Cd's. Paid $23. Selling for $10. 50 mini Cd Jewel Cases. Paid $18. Selling for $8 Prices do not include shipping. Let me know if you're interested
  18. Thats AWESOME!!! I will totally have to ask Pilar ifshe could help (and totally tip her for helping). Thanks for the suggestion
