    I'm walking down the isle to "Marry Me" as well. I love that song. I heard it for the first time live in concert, and I knew it was perfect. I used it in our digital save the date Animoto too, so people should recognize it.

    Thanks! I started in October. My ultimate goal is to lose 25-30 lbs. total. I'm impressed that you can wait all week before stepping on the scale. I get on every day! lol I always go up a few lbs after my weigh in on Sundays, drop them by Thursday or Friday, then suddenly drop down even more on weigh in day. It's odd, but whatever works!!

    I'm thinking of creating a fun scavenger hunt for my guests that will require them to find various spots in the resort and take pictures there. Has anyone been there/can recommend areas of the resort I should include in the hunt?

    It's been working great for me! I'm 1 lb. away from having lost 10% since I started. One more month hopefully until I reach my goal weight! keeping my fingers crossed that nothing derails me!

    I'm thinking I'll do the same thing. I've read that you can find nice, cheap Maracas easily in Cancun, so we'll just wait and buy them there when we arrive!

    Yes, super annoying! Yes, people are coming all that way for YOUR wedding, but it's also THEIR vacation! I'm thinking of just telling people who mention the money thing that we're eloping, if people want to crash the elopement, they're welcome!

    Ha, I feel your pain. My new last name will mean that my first AND last names will now be palindromes. Ugh! On the flip side, a good friend of mine married a man whose last name was Tietz (pronounced Teets). She is a large-breasted school teacher. Her MIL couldn't understand what the issue was, her maiden name was Koonts! No lie! It can always be worse!! I suppose at least I'm giving up a first initial, last name combo that in emails has sometimes shown up as ahole....

    I'm going through it too, though with some of our friends. 2 of my very close friends just informed me they won't make it for money reasons, but they want to take me to Vegas & pay the way. Trouble is, the cost difference is $200, and that's if they don't drink at all in Vegas or do anything that costs money beyond one show. When I pointed this out and offered to pay the difference, they didn't change their minds. One just leased a new, expensive car, the other is financially stable. Seems to me you could save up $200 over the course of a year. Especially since we're asking for no gifts, we're not having a shower, etc. My FI was hoping to ask one of his close friends to be his best man, and it turns out he's not going because it will be his 6 year old daughter's first dance recital. Huh? I would think if it's really that important you'd fly out alone and ask your wife to take the daughter. Am I crazy?? On the other hand, a friend is flying all the way from Australia to be there, and another has her brother's wedding the night before and will leave after his reception to be there for mine. I think DW's can really show where people's priorities lay. I think I just need to focus on the ones who truly love me!

    Â Our wedding is at 2:00 in June in Mexico, so we are worried that it will be too hot and the wrong time of day to get good photos before or after the wedding. We don't care a ton for reception photos, so are debating between booking 8 hours on the wedding day just to be able to get good portraits done before sunset, or getting 3 hours on the wedding day to cover getting ready and the ceremony, then getting a TTD session to cover our portraits. We just can't decide! Any suggestions?

    I am definitely not having a bridal shower...I too feel like it would be too much to ask of people. Although, I've always thought it was too much regardless of where your wedding is to have people buy you a wedding gift & a shower gift, and maybe a bachelorette gift too--just always felt over indulgent somehow, even if you are paying for people's dinners at the wedding... Just my opinion!

    A good friend of mine walked herself down the aisle, but stopped along the way to take a few flowers from key people in her life sitting along the aisle. She held these flowers together & they were her bouquet. Honestly, I didn't even notice she walked by herself! I loved the idea!

    Hi, Our wedding is scheduled for 2:00 in June & dinner won't be starting until 5 or 6. What are some of you doing during those in between hours with your guests? Are you letting them entertain themselves, organizing something, or ?? I'm a little afraid our wedding will lose momentum with such a long break, but I'd also like dinner & dancing, which is less fun early in the afternoon! Would love any ideas you guys have! Thanks!

    Hi Ladies, I'm having a photography dilemma. We're trying to decide how many hours of photography to book. Our ceremony is at 2:00 in the afternoon in June in Mexico, so it will be hot, hot, hot. I don't have a strong need for reception pics, but I'm concerned that if we book just 3 hours of photography, our pictures will look terrible since we'll be hot, red & sweaty. In order to get sunset pictures, or just pictures after it's cooled down some, we'd need at least 7 hours of photography, obviously much more expensive. I'd love some advice here! Especially from those of you that had early afternoon weddings in Mexico! Thanks!

    We also did not want to register for all the same reasons as everyone else...people are paying to come to our wedding, we have enough stuff between the two of us for 3 households, etc. etc. But we too were told some folks will want to give gifts anyway. So we created a PayPal donation button and are asking people who insist on gifts to help us help our loved ones who can't quite afford to join us. Here's the wording from our website: We do not wish to receive gifts, your presence at our wedding is our present! We've been told, however, that some people will run out and buy us something anyway. If you are in this camp, instead please consider donating to our scholarship fund for guests we'd love to have, but who can't quite afford to attend. Nothing could be more personal than the gift of allowing someone we love to share our wedding with us.

    Hi Ladies, I was wondering if those of you getting married in the Cancun area had found the local photographers to be flexible in pricing. I keep reading everywhere that with the economy the way it is, photographers will be flexible in their pricing, yada yada yada. However, thus far, I'm not finding that to be the case, at all... Has anyone been able to negotiate prices/packages with photographers? Thanks, Anna

    mssanders111111: You and I have a lot in common! I'm getting married in June at the Moon Palace, and I too am a teacher! Weight Watchers is a great way to lose weight. A good friend of mine who has been heavy all her life has been using it and is now super skinny! I'm 5'10" and am hoping to lose about 30 lbs. by June. Thanks to starting WW at the end of October, I only need to lose 22 lbs! Good luck to you! It takes A LOT of will power to lose weight, but it'll be worth it to feel great for that beach front wedding!
