  1. How frustrating! Has anyone tried posting this problem on their Facebook site? I have had trouble getting a reply from my on-site WC (it's now 2 mo. before our wedding). Sent multiple emails, left phone messages, even had my TA intervene, to no avail. Posted on Facebook, got an instant response from their guy who monitors Facebook and a response from my WC the next day... I think a public complaint is warranted and much more effective!! Good luck girls! I never got anything in writing about the video since I'd read in this forum that it wasn't an issue. Grrrrr. Let us know if you get them to honor points for video, as I will be fighting that battle soon too!
  2. Hi Girls, We're getting married June 12 in Cancun and we're trying to decide between an indoor and an outdoor reception. We're concerned about heat first and foremost. Our reception would start around dusk, but I hear it can still be painfully hot at that time. Anyone have any experience with this? What about wind? Mosquitos? Anything I haven't thought of? An outdoor reception would be so pretty, but not if everyone is suffering heat stroke! Thanks!
  3. So I STILL have not heard back from Kalena, after a week and a half, 3 emails, 2 emails to the Miami contact who responds to me right away and forwards my messages to Kalena, and a phone message. My TA has also tried contacting them, but still nothing. I asked the Miami contact for a supervisor's email/phone number at MP, but did not get a response to that. Does anyone have a supervisor's email at the Moon Palace I could try? Thanks!
  4. Hi Girls, I created a wiki that will allow us to gather all useful Moon Palace Resort information in one spot. I don't know about you, but I find myself searching through pages of discussions trying to find information about the resort that I saw once and now need. I think this will make our lives easier! I have added some things that I know, more coming soon. Check it out and add what you know. If any of you are feeling ambitious, it would be great to have folks "mine" through old posts and add from those as well.... Enjoy! http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/wiki/moon-palace-resort-information-wiki

  9. Ack! I'm starting to freak out! I was told multiple times I couldn't reserve any venues at MP until 3 months before. That date came and went on Saturday, and after 2 emails I still haven't heard back from my onsite coordinator. I'm going to be seriously peeved if all our favorite venues are already booked. We're booking 4 private functions too. Ack ack ack!
  10. I'm trying to figure out the best way to get some of our goodies to Mexico. Does anyone know if you can check boxes instead of bags on flights? If so, I could save myself the $$ of paying to have an empty suitcase returned home..
  11. Congrats!!! As of today I'm just 4 lbs away from my WW goal! (9lbs. from my personal goal) Yay!
  12. @GeorgiaPeach - Congrats! Check out the Moon Palace Brides wiki (in my signature) to see who's getting married when & add yourself!
  13. What do "real people" spend on their engagement rings/wedding bands combined? I'm thinking of having a custom band made for my ering, and what I have in mind will cost around $4k because of the amount of design work required, more than the materials.... I feel like this is A LOT, but I don't have any real reference points....
  14. Not sure why the pics aren't showing, but it looks like if you click on them, they'll open...
  15. I'm having trouble deciding on a wedding band. What do you girls think? Choice 1, 2, or go custom? I like how 2 fits up against my ring, but I like the mixed gold and sapphires of the first....
  16. Hi Girls, I'm having trouble deciding on a wedding band that will fit with my ring. Which of these do you think look best (pictured with and without the E ring)?
  17. I'm a big fan of Picasa. Yes, they have a program you can download for free, but there's also PicasaWeb, so you don't have to download the program. They give you 1 GB of space for free, then have low monthly fees for additional space, up to a TB, which would be excessive! (and expensive) The nice thing about Picasa is that you can upload and download full resolution pics. Someone in another thread also mentioned Yogile, which also lets you download full resolution pictures. I haven't played with this site at all, but it looks promising...
  18. Picasa is another site that lets you create albums and upload/download full resolution images.
  19. Yeah, I live in CO. I went to about 15 stores or so & was finally just sick of it! lol Some of the people working at the stores were just awful too. I went into one in Cherry Creek, can't think of the name at the moment, but they have all their dresses in back, and they just bring up ones they think you'll like. They were good at picking ones that would fit you, but none of them were my style! Each time I tried one on, the woman impatiently would ask me if this was it. I think I was there for 15 minutes and tried on maybe 4 dresses. She was so rude I was nearly in tears! I sure hope other people have better experiences with dress shopping that I did!!
  20. melfaybik - gorgeous dress! I looked all over CO too; I swear I had heard somewhere that dress shopping was fun & that everyone looks great in a wedding dress. Whatever!! I finally chose one of the first few I had tried on. I like it a lot, but never got that super-excited THIS is the dress feeling. I'm glad that after all that searching, you did!
  21. @jamie0820- Stick with it, you can do it! If you're honest about what you're eating and don't eat up all your weekly points, it works wonderfully. This last week I ate all but like 4 of my weekly points and I broke even weight wise. Not sure if that's how it's supposed to work, but I only lose if I keep my weekly point consumption down. On the up side, I tried on a dress this weekend in a size 6, and it actually fit! Terrible color on me, but it FIT! I'm usually a size 10, but was up at a 12 when I started. i don't think I've been a 6 since before puberty!! lol I'm sure pants would never fit in that size, but I still feel great about it!
  22. Hmmm, maybe it's Kalena. My travel agent tends to misspell names she hears over the phone.... lol That's good news though!
  23. Yikes, it makes me nervous that there have been so many negative experiences lately! I'm sorry you guys have to go through that! I just found out who my coordinator will be. Does anyone know anything about Galena?
  24. Here's a good one for a sea-side wedding: EXCERPT FROM "THE GIFT FROM THE SEA" ~ By Anne Morrow Lindbergh ~ When you love someone, you do not love them all the time, in exactly the same way, from moment to moment. It is an impossibility. It is even a lie to pretend to. And yet this is exactly what most of us demand. We have so little faith in the ebb and flow of life, of love, of relationships. We leap at the flow of the tide and resist in terror its ebb. We are afraid it will never return. We insist on permanency, on duration, on continuity; when the only continuity possible, in life as in love, is in growth, in fluidity - in freedom, in the sense that the dancers are free, barely touching as they pass, but partners in the same pattern. The only real security is not in owning or possessing, not in demanding or expecting, mot in hoping, even. Security in a relationship lies neither in looking back to what was in nostalgia, nor forward to what it might be in dread or anticipation, but living in the present relationship and accepting it as it is now. Relationships must be like islands, one must accept them for what they are here and now, within their limits - islands, surrounded and interrupted by the sea, and continually visited and abandoned by the tides.
