Lisa, we have only paid for our deposit, half of the photography package. The travel costs are their responsibility. So if they wait longer and have to pay more, it's really their own fault. She wanted to book right away, but the husband kept telling her to wait. They are booking the rooms directly through us, it's just the airfare. I can't really get too worried. Stuff like this always happens to us. When we were buying our house we had to look for a lawyer a week before closing because the original lawyer passed away unexpectedly. When I bough my car they had to rush to find one because the day it was to be delivered someone drove the first one head into a wall! But as FI will tell you, I always get what I want. Oh Lisa, that sucks. I'm worried too about my second dress. It's holding up my final veil and shoe decisions. Maybe you can still request a refund and try another option? Try not to stress Kitty. FI's GM just booked their rooms for our wedding this week. Thankfully I booked 2 of their flights before Christmas because they have nearly doubled. The third one was delaying booking anything and his flight was easily a few hundred more and he will be staying a day less because the flights were sold out on the day we all arrive.

I booked our locations about 5 months in advance but tried not to bother our onsite coordinator too often. I would save up all my questions and send her an email every few weeks. She usually wouldn't respond for at least a week anyways. Now that our wedding is so close, she had been great at responding within a few hours. I figured that her communication would improve as the date got closer and it really did. On the other hand, I've gotten horrible service from Miami ever since our first coordinator unexpectedly left at the beginning of January. They keep switching the person that handles our reservations, and no one has answered any of my emails since January. We only find out that someone has taken over our account when we call directly.

We still have to choose our recession song. I told FI that if he doesn't choose something it will be "I'm a Believer" by Smashmouth. I placed my final vistaprint order today. I had been telling myself not to order any more, but I got our pre travel brochures, rack cards to put in OOT bags with wedding week time line, and a new lawn sign since the first one I ordered was much too large. I did the 21 day shipping, but fingers crossed it arrives sooner. It is so difficult to reject the FREE,FREE,FREE emails, but I am too cheap to pay for 7 day delivery. I think I just needed a pick me up after finding out that my new wedding dress is delayed.

I agree that the shower should not be paid for by the guests and should not exceed what the hostess can afford. If your guests want to contribute, that's great but it should not be expected. My shower was held at a restaurant because my MoH lives out of town and we thought it would be weird to hold at my home. It worked out better because we didn't have to clean and it was probably less expensive. I know my mom split the bill and was shocked how little it was. So maybe just try to find a more affordable option.
