Hey everybody! This thread is great! After reading through hours of posts I was totally sold on going the knockoff route. I fell in love with the Pronovias 2011 Abaco dress in a bridal shop when I tried it on but can't justify spending over $1000 of our already tiny budget on a dress I would be wearing for a few short hours. I found a seller on DHgate with 100% positive feedback named "babyonline" that said they would make the dress for $115! I just ordered it and am feeling a bit nervous but for that price it is totally worth the risk. They said it would only take 10 days to make. I'm so excited I can hardly stand it!

I think anything goes these days. I know several girls whose mothers have thrown their bridal shower (and baby showers as well which also use to be frowned upon). I don't think most people even really think about those things anymore. And if it makes her happy then let her do it.

That's good news. It may have been tacky but I would just take advantage of the situation and have a good time!

Where are you getting married in Bucerias? I'm getting married in Sayulita and have been worried about hair as well. As of right now I am planning on doing my own because I haven't found any reviews of stylists in the area and don't trust many people with my thick, naturally curly hair. We are signing our contract with our WC this week and hopefully they will be able to recommend someone. I will let you know if they do.
