  1. From the photos I really like the location of the Italian restaurant too! That's where we are probably having our reception dinner. Missy are you guys paying the extra $2500 for the private reception room?
  2. We all warned my bff to hold the bouquet lower when she walked doesn't the aisle but she got nervous and forgot lol. I'm going to have to try to keep reminding myself too.
  3. Just search Jamaican spice, or just Jamaican and it will come up!!! good luck Thanks for the tip! I will definitely check that out.
  4. Quote:Originally Posted by delgadot That is awesome to know! Do the booklets include tourists attraction sites and possible excursions? I haven't received mine yet but when I do I'll try and post some pictures so you can see what they are like.
  5. I've never heard od those laundry soap things but it sounds like a great idea. I would also like to know where you can find those. Still no luck on little packages of Tylenol/immodiom but I talked to the pharmacist at walmart and she said they could just give me a bunch of empty prescription pill bottles for free and I can just fill them and create little labels (apparently she used pill bottles filled with jelly beans as favors at her wedding -cute). But I'm worried that my look kinda suspicious to customs lol. Any other suggestions?
  6. Wow! Becks you are a DIY master! Amazing job thanks for sharing.
  7. Akua420 have you been able to find a spice mix or will you just make your own? I was going to check Costco for a bulk container but if not, I did find some recipes online that don't look too difficult. Our AHR isn't until May though so I probably won't do it for awhile
  8. I found cheaper quotes online too but was told that sometimes travel companies release "teaser rates" and maybe a few people can book under that rate and then the price will jump back up. It's tough planning for a group cuz you don't want to risk waiting for the last minute deals in case there isn't enough room. I had my travel company agree to honor a one time price drop for my guests if they dropped their prices outside of 90 days from our departure. Good luck with everything!
  9. Quote:Originally Posted by AshleyL Very helpful list. Complete Noob question here: what does OOT stand for? I figured out STD (although trust me there was some confusion on that one ) and AHR but I can't figure out this one. I was at a DW in Domnican this past January, and there was nothing like this handed out. Are they fairly common, and expected? Thanks I'm trying to keep the cost under $15 per bag. And we are doing one bag per couple, not per person. So far I have: Deck of cards 0.33 each from the dollar store (pack of 3 for a buck) First aid kit - includes bandaids, antibacterial cloth, gauze, tape for $1.25 from dollar store Towel tabs - just add water for instant facecloth $0.30 each Hand sanitized 3 pack for $1 I'm contemplating bags from vista print with a logo or canvas bags from cheap totes.com for 0.99 each I also want to get aloe/snacks/lanyard key holder/travel mugs/puzzle book/welcome brochure. Depends if I can find all that stuff and keep it within my budget.
  10. I know some brides in Mexico recommended keeping receipts if you get checked by customs. Did any Jamaican brides have to deal with this?
  11. I like the idea of adding something Jamaican to the oot bags. For our AHR we are giving out little jars of Jamaican jerk spice.
  12. Did anyone have trouble taking their OOT stuff through customs? I saw on here that brides getting married in Mexico recommended that you keep the receipts because you can't bring more than $300 worth of stuff into the country?
  13. I just called and they are mailing 30 brochures out to me! So excited!
  14. That's an awesome idea. Thanks for sharing!
  15. Great info ladies. I'm doing a welcome letter but for the pre-travel info I will just be posting most of that stuff to our website (packing list, map etc).
  16. I love the mugs! Great job on everything and thanks for sharing.
  17. We are making welcome bags and trying to keep it around $15 per bag. But I was at a DW in January and we didn't get anything like this. I didn't miss them because I never even knew about the idea.
  18. Everything looks great. I have ordered a bunch of stuff from vista print too and I'm just waiting for it to get here.
  19. Good point about the swelling! And thanks for the info I have same problem and had never heard of these options before. I just figured i would order the wedding band smaller and wear it on top of my e ring
  20. Can't wait until I can check it out. I've been looking for brochure ideas.
  21. Congrats and happy planning! Just a note some of the threads I have found to be super useful are the ones where brides list what they would do again and what they would do differently. Definitely check that out! Good luck!
  22. This is an awesome thread. Everything turned out beautifully! Thanks for sharing.
