    For the Canadians out there: I just ordered chair sashes from elegantperspectives.com - you can't tell, but they are Canadian so no super expensive shipping or customs - yah!

    Instead of a guest book, my FI and I have ordered an engraveable pewter platter - we can display it but also use it when guests come over.

    Welcome! I am from Toronto as well. We decided on Mexico.

    We decided to do a symbolic ceremony. We are getting legally married the day before we leave for Mexico (it happens to be April Fools Day - how fitting). We did this for a few reasons - it was more cost effective, we didn't have to get documents translated first from English to Spanish, and then Spanish back to English (marriage license). I have heard some resorts/states can take a very long time to give this to you, which means it can take a long time to get the marriage registered back at home.

    I found one: www.elegantperspectives.com - I am getting my sashes from them. I thought the site was American, but it turns out they are in Ontario (score!). Not sure what the shipping cost is though, yet - I haven't actually placed the order. However, no customs/duty!
