  1. Here is the vimeo video. It did not seem to embed properly before. B's Proposal in Argentina from Deanna Bennett on Vimeo.
  2. This is a little over due (and long), but I can't seem to tell this story enough. It was on our amazing trip to South America, this past December that my fiance proposed to me while hiking on Perito Moreno Glacier in Patagonia, Argentina. Although the timing in our lives seemed right to get married and we had been talking about it more recently in round-a-bout ways, I never thought he would bring a ring on this trip because we started out in Rio De Janeiro. So many people told us to be careful it was almost comical. Plus, we had already been traveling for 12 days so any inklings I had were long gone. It was nice to not be thinking about it – free to completely enjoy the day and breathtaking scenery. We spent the night before looking around the little shops in El Calafate and shopping for winter items. I should note that we only took carry-on luggage for our 18-day trip. This seems completely normal to us and the travelers we met along the way, but somehow impossible to most of our friends in the states. Since space was limited, we had not brought gloves for either of us or a big winter coat for my fiance so we went shopping and discovered that you could rent ANYTHING you needed in the town! I wish we had known so I would not have had to stuff our snowboarding pants into ziplock bags. We ended our day with a sunset dinner at 10:30pm! Up early the next day, we boarded the bus for our 1.5 hour ride to the glacier. We got lucky with unbelievable weather, great guides and awesome fellow hikers. The views along the drive were stunning and when we reached the catwalks, you thought it could not get much more beautiful. Then we took a boat ride across the lake and hiked for 45 minutes on terra firma, continually taking pictures, each seemingly better than the last. And when we finally got on the ice, we saw colors of blue that day that I never knew were possible. It was like a dream. Finally, on our route back we stopped at an under-ice waterfall and nothing else that day was able to compare. It was so unlike anything I had seen before. It was after seeing the look on my face, that my fiance decided this was the place. So after everyone started to walk away, he handed our video camera to fellow hiker Liz (Yes, he is so smart that he asked Liz, to film him!) and called me over to him. Now, our guided started yelling at him in Spanish because she did not want him near the waterfall, but he told her he would not get close. So I was confused and started getting irritated because we were getting yelled at, but it did not take too long for everyone to catch on. He turned me to him and said some very special things (these are all mine and too precious to share), got down on one knee and asked me to share the rest of my life with him. It was AMAZING! I was completely surprised and will cherish that day forever. I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with such a wonderful man! You can relive the experience by watching this video he edited together. B's _cke_saved_href="http://vimeo.com/12059466">B's Proposal in Argentina from Deanna Bennett on Vimeo. " width="425" />
  3. Here is some information and photos about our DIY airline ticket wedding invitations. Since one of the reasons we are getting married in Mexico is sharing our love of travel, I wanted to incorporate it somehow. We also have a few map inspired gifts in the welcome bags, luggage tag seating cards and destination table names. My mom loves to make homemade cards and she is really good at it, so I never considered anything other than she and I making our wedding invitations. We looked all over for inspiration and found very creative ideas for passport invitations and luggage tag invitations, but choose to go with airplane ticket invitations. Our wedding colors are royal blue and sunrise orange - not for any sports team (people keep asking if its for the Denver Broncos or Chicago Bears) - but because my ring is a brilliant blue sapphire and I love bright orange flowers. Thankfully, my fiance has a good eye for design as he laid out the copy for the "tickets" and then my mom and I took over. We printed out the pages, cut them apart, snipped the corners, stamped travel designs, folded, glued and tied our way to what we think are a beautiful finished product. I can't wait to work on some more projects!
  4. I love that these are with cloth and not plastic! I'm not sure the website instructions talked about sewing in the vinyl so it looks like I might be in for some trial and error. Anyone able to help?
  5. These are great! Thank you so sharing. I am planning to have luggage tags as our seating cards, which will double as our wedding favor.
  6. I just started the p90x lean program this week. I am pretty sore, but focused on the results. Anyone else currently working out on p90x? I'd love to be able to keep each other accountable. Not that my impending dress fitting is not doing a good job at the moment.
  7. Thanks for getting back. Sounds like it might be worth borrowing the set from my friend.

    Hello!

Welcome to the forum. There is a lot of very helpful information on here. We're getting married close to you - Isla Mujeres in January 2011. Have fun planning!
  20. I like the idea of a little purple. My engagement ring is actually a sapphire so I will be incorporating blue into my jewelry. I love when colors pop against the white and cream of weddings!
  21. Thanks for posting! There are a couple on here that I had not thought of until now.
  22. Thanks for all the ideas. We have not started picking songs yet and my fiance is really into music, but now I feel like I have some suggestions to bring to the table.
