Unfortunatelly it is true ...some hotels may seems cheaper than decor company.... The reason: the hotels are asking 30% comision to the outide vendors... The result: they take pictures of decor company work and sell them as theirs - they ask their maintenance staff to do somthing similar to the pictures (no cost for them) and resell it to the clients for a cheaper price Well...sometimes it works but in other cases.....you can compare a decor company work with a gardener putting up some draping. This is why we always foind a way around the comision and in a way or another can make it happen for a reasonable price

Hello, There are so many options that you need to set-up priorities: All inlcuse or not would be the first one...if you don't care about food than all-inclusive is ok...if food is a priority then avoid the all inclusive Privacy - some hotels are wedding factories where you are just a number...."next bride, please!" Budget: try to elaborate a budget and so you can narrow your choices THis is just a start...then each hotel has its politics....and that is the next step....do I wan ttheir vendors, do they have more than one wedding per day..... Lots of homeworks!

We are also doing customized weddings (that is why we provide decoracion to Federica for example!Welcome to the forum by the way!) and really don't understand why brides continue to select all-incusive resorts that are "wedding factories", where the bride can not select what she wants (hey it her day!!) unless she pays ridicoulos outside vendors fess.....oh well!

Hello, To reassure everyone, the new team with Lillia as the coordinator is really great and very flexible.

I can only agree....all.inclusive not accepting outside photographer are just ok...imagine in some case it is the same photographer that does the beach shots during the day to all the guests...with a point and shot camera!

I can only agree that Balance is the best band on the Riviera Maya!

Well there is a diference in location but also in quality/service. Ceiba del Mar is more on the upscale side. They have very nice areas and many options for wedding parties ( Dock for ceremony is really nice!).

And as I said in another post, there are thousand of transfer companies....some reliable others much less....that is why you also have diference in pricing! .....and many "cheap" companies subrent their vans and will put you in some without insurance. Believe it or not very few companies own more than 4 vans total in Cancun and Riviera Maya....many are just a third party renting from whoever.

Well said Breens...what you need is a good coordination...once you have everyones flight is just matter of combining them...for departures it is much easier since most of the flights leave in the mid-morning /early afternoon sos you can concentrate them a bite more. USA transfer is a reliable one as is AGI for example (AGI Tours - Cancun - Ground Transportation Services and Professional Tour Guide Services)

Custom brokers are a reliable source...but SO expensive that event for corporate events it is sometime not accesible in price. My suggestion: pay for the extra luggage and bring it from the US...or even easier have it done on site. You cna find almost everyhting now in Mexico.

Just be carefull ..if something looks too good to be true, IT USUALLY IS! In fact there are many companies in Cancun operating without insurance...it has been an issue now with internet booking where authorities do not have control on what is offered. For example if a company doesn't load the van inside the appropriate area...something is wrong..and they are many like these! There has been some big accidents involving tourist lately....and that insurance thing is important! To come back to your main question: so a deal wityh a cab company...mmm...doesnt really exist...special prices sounds better but again for individual arrival there is not a real solution except combining flights or use the official airport shuttle

booking a roon block at Fairmont and for the majority and do your wedding either at Rosewood or Banyan Tree is a great solution. Bnayan Tree is relaly nice but they are a bite new and have not done too many wedidngs yet - hopefully this year they will have a few more and they will be a bite more "traiend". Rosewood: beautiful - we have created amazing setting on the beach ot by the lagoon

Hello, We have done this kind of job ....but it is mainly the hotel that has to give you the authorizacion....also because you need some time to cover...always easier if the pool is not round!

Congratulations! Tulum is a amazing settign to create beautiful weddings....just bear in mind that everything is a bite complicated to get down there.

Well if they speak english is not the main problem....quality is an issue down here as most them sub-rent linen. It is also a matter of is they are reliable...pretty important the day of your wedding!

You are right Marydel - Raffaele works for both EW (more weddings) and Mayan Hopsitlaity (more corporate oriented)

Just for your information in Cancun and Riviera Maya you can get almost any kind of chairs ( Gold, White, Brown, silver and even transparant chivary) - some are plastic other wooden. Just consider for example that tiffany (chavari) chairs are not very stableand confortable on the sand.
