  1. Another (not as great) idea might be to make a photo collage. I think I saw where you could make one on Kodak Gallery. You upload your pics and then choose how you want them laid out, and then it prints them on one poster sized sheet. Hope this makes sense. If not let me know.
  2. Here is the template for my Passport Invites. Thank you to everyone that I borrowed from. I printed the cover on cardstock from Paper & More and the other pages on regular colored paper from the same place. After I cut them with a paper cutter I used a corner rounder and stapled them together One piece of advice is that everyone's printer works differently so be sure do print a couple of test copies to check the alignment. Good Luck! Passport Invites BDW.ppt
  3. Thanks for sharing. One less thing I have to come up with the wording for!
  4. I am in the same boat as A la Playa, and got to see the beautiful pics, but it told me my session had timed out when I went back to look at a few of them in a different category. Hopefully it will work again because we are booked with MTM and I wanted to show FI pics from El Dorado since they have not shot too many weddings there. Hopefully MTM will put some of the pics up on their blog.
  5. OMG that sucks about the sun, but the heat really sucks where I live and it is humid. Guess it makes me really ready for Mexico, though! How is everyone coming along with their wedding planning?

When we got there – all sweaty and gross  - we had champagne and drinks ASAP! The Tucanes hut was a bit hot though as it did not have fans underneath. With all the bushes and plants there wasn’t much breeze. BUT because the Tucanes is right next to La Isle restuarnat and pool bar, the food was fresh and very tasty. I feel this was one of the best restaurants and everyone was surprised of the food quality. We had a salad with shrimp, and filet for dinner. The filet was tender and not tough at all – actually cooked perfect! Sometimes in banquets they use cheaper quality meat and soak in vinegar to make it tender but this was NOT the case. Then we went right to the cake for dessert. The cake was actually tasty too! We had chocolate and strawbeery. If I could do it again – I would order a MUCH smaller cake. I paid for the $300 one for all 30 people and it was WAY too big. I wanted it to look cool with the two tiers but it wasn’t that big a deal and I could have saved there. But I swear it was actually tasty!!!! •My dad gave the servers $40 to split and then they came out with the trays of shots and cocktails. We weren’t a big party group but that kicked off the night  I used my ipod and brought my own speakers – I was very glad for that. Their resort speakers were $250 and looked similar to mine! I did a mix of 1 hour of Spanish guitar, sanata and beach music and then some faster, fun songs for dinner. It was perfect and we were very happy. I had a big beach bag and all our junk in there that my mom kept. Around 10:30 we packed up and moved to JoJo’s bar and then to the guacamayas bar for the live music. AND THEN! The rege guy performing called me up on stage! Yikes! Lastly to end the night because me and my guy didn’t have the official first dance at the party – (he is NOT a dancing guy) at the guacamayas place the DJ called us up there and my friend requested our song – wow it was really cool! •Our photographer was “Moments that Matterâ€. Now if you asked me the day before the wedding I would have told you I spent too much. It was $2,000 for them (husband and wife team) and then $500 to the resort. But after I viewed the photos I see why it was worth it. The resort photographer is very nice and does a great job as I heard from the other bride but I was glad I had 2 people and 2 perspectives. If I had more money, I would have gotten another hour of their services. I highly recommend them as photog because my photos were ready as soon as I arrived back in Chicago. Their artist views were spot on and helped mold the emotion of the day – totally worth it  I think that is it! Again it was 100% the right place for us! It was nice not having a full resort – it wasn’t empty either though! We always had other brides and parties to chat with and met people from all over the world! Hubby did a fishing trip but other than that we stayed right on the resort and got our moneys worth! Here is a breakdown of our costs Dress and Suit - $800 First class flights direct - $2,000 WORTH IT! (my guy is pretty big and I’m not tiny either!) Room at the hotel ½ in reg room ½ in casita - $3,300 (for a total of 7 nights) Free ceremony Ceremony upgrades of isle etc - $242 Spanish guitarist - $500 Flowers and spa treatments - $350 Photog and fee - $2,500 Cocktail reception private - $370 (30 ppl) Private 3 course dinner - $1,134 (30 ppl) Cake - $250 $140 for his fishing trip $200 in tips Hope that helps! Please ask questions if I forgot anything – again friend me on facebook for candids! Here is my prof photog site. What do you think?! http://www.pictage.com/853954 I tired to view your pics and it says they are not available yet. Am I doing something wrong?
  7. I like the idea about getting them picture frames and then buying them a picture afterwards.

  9. Ok so I know this is changing the subject... I am thinking about doing real touch flowers. Does anyone know if they charge a fee for bringing your own flowers? (I am hoping not!)
  10. We are using Moments that Matter, but we did have to pay the outside vendor fee since they are not "approved." Hopefully your resort will have a photographer that you like so that you can quickly resolve this issue. You should call whenever you feel that you are not receiving the service you are paying for. I think I saw on the forum for El Dorado one of the ladies said that she gave them a couple of days and then started calling. Also check and see if your hotel has a Live Chat feature where you can chat with your WC. Hopefully your day gets better!
  11. I love this thread. Everytime I read the updates it makes me smile to know that I am not alone in dealing with family or planning issues!
  12. You can also ask your concierge to give you more water, than beer, in your in-room fridge too. Then you cvan just throw it in your bag and take it with you. We were there last fall and that is pretty much the only water we drank.
  13. Has anyone asked the resort yet? If not I will so that there are no worries - with these issues!
  14. You did a really great job! They look fabulous. I am ordering the exact centerpieces from the resort, but I am only going to put a few on each table. I think you get 7 or 8 vases for the price, so I was thinking 3 a table since we only have 4 tables. I know it costs more, but I am at that point where I do not want to add anymore to my luggage.
  15. Congrats & welcome! Happy Planning!

  17. Congrats on your engagement and welcome to the forum! Good Luck with your planning!
  18. Ok so getting to this thread a little later than most, but I too am getting married in October (10/16/10) at El Dorado Royal. We have the resort booked, as well as about half of our guests booked. Now I have left are the things I have been putting off forever like the flowers and OOT bags!
  19. Congrats & Welcome to the forum. I am getting married at El Dorado in October. Use the search function at the top to find several threads on EDR. Also PM if you have any questions or want to see pics from my vaction there last October. Good Luck and Happy Planning!
  20. Thanks for the great find! Will have to stop by and look at them!
  21. Those are both great ideas. I do like linked in love better, though.
  22. Those are great ideas. You could also add a book or travel sized games, etc.
