I think it depends on what time of the year you go and the location. We are paying about the same as you but we are staying 10 nights at the Aventura Spa in Riviera Maya. We went to Cozumel for 7 nights in the beginning of Sept for 2k total! That is really awesome and if you get married during hurricane season then the prices are lower (aka August through November, typically)

NaM - Thank you for sharing your photos! Also where did you get your sand ceremony picture frame/ vase thing? I love it! Also you look very beautiful in your pictures... have you modeled before? You guys will have beautiful babies! :-)

Congratulations and welcome to the forum! I would say the biggest thing is picking a resort (one that has a onsite WC) that will make it easier on you. Actually I have heard from a few people that have had DW and most of the planning was when they got to the resort... My stepmom planned their wedding at home (nice one) in 1 month so you can do it!

Yes, we were friends at first but knew there was something between us... 5. Were you ever engaged or married to someone other than the person you are with now? yes, but young and dumb... no offense to young ones on here but I'm a late bloomer (getting married young is not for everyone) 6. Do you want a garden wedding, beach wedding, or the traditional church wedding? beach/ gazeboo wedding 7. Where did you/will you get married? Aventura Spa Riviera Maya, Mexico 8. First dance - slow 9. How many guests did you/will you have? we should have btw 20 to 30 people... 10. Do you want/did you have an extravagant wedding or a simple wedding? I'm simple and dont like a lot of fuss... simple wedding! 11. Vows - traditional or something you make up on your own? definitely own vows, more meaningful 12. How many layers of cake did you/will you have? 1 or 2 depending on size of party... not a big deal to me 13. Is/was your wedding/reception at a hotel? yes 14. When did you/will you get married - sunrise, mid-day, sunset? mid-day at 3pm in the afternoon 15. My whole life led to me meeting my FI. I didnt really believe in fate like I do now. No matter what life brings, always take it's journey because that is what life is about and the best things are from the journey. It all started in the beginning of 2006 when I decided to make a big change in my life. I recently broke off an engagement with a guy I was with for 4 years and was completely lost (didnt know myself anymore and so needed a change). When I was little I always dreamt about being in the mountains and one day I decided to move to Colorado from Texas. So I transferred with the company I worked for to Colorado and it's been the best decision I have ever made. Yes I miss my family and friends but I met the man of my dreams. My FI is from Ohio and he moved to Denver about 9 months before I did. We worked for the same company so at first it was a no - no to date. We would hang out with other mutual friends and I always felt there was something between us but never persued it. One day we felt like hanging out but one one else did... we got drunk and one thing led to another. We have been together ever since... The funny thing is that our lives are the same but reversed. We are both only children, he was raised by his mom and I was raised by my dad. He is a mama's boy and I'm a daddy's girl... go figure! Sorry if I dont make sense... I have been drinking and it's Friday!
