  1. Wow thanks! I had no idea that this product line was even out there. Very nice.
  2. Has anyone gathered any information regarding activities or excursions in La Romana, Dominican Republic? I'm considering organizing a group excursion and thought that I would fish for some ideas. I'm most interested in arranging a catermaran type trip where people can sort of sit back and enjoy the water/scenery. Any other ideas out there?
  3. Looks like DJ Mannia will soon be enduring BDW Mannia!! Awesome, thanks for the review.
  4. Amygirl1169 I LOVE your emblem!! Did you design it yourself? The colour scheme is so pretty, really vibrant and has quite the island feel to it.
  5. I have a question - were these made by following the instructions on the powerpoint sticky? They look awesome!
  6. LOL! I just left a message on your other thread and then I saw this one and thought "O maybe we'll find some answers here!!" Well at least it's posted with the rest of the DIYs so someone out there should be able to help!
  7. Great idea; I was thinking of doing the same but haven't decided betweeen a cage veil or a floral headpiece or a combination of the two. I'll check back on this post to see if anyone else weighs in on the idea!
  8. It's all about the BIG reveal!! My FI keeps telling me that it's the equivilant to a nicely wrapped gift on Christmas day!!
  9. I absolutely love what you've done! Just wish I could get some of those boarding passes to try my hands at the DIY thing too!! I'm not sure how you'd go about getting that same shape and detail if you didn't have the real thing!
  10. Congratulations! You certainly picked a beautiful spot to be married at. Be sure to check out the Jamaica forum and get connected. Welcome!
  11. I love the Mayan Riviera but unfortunately I have never stayed at either of those resorts Try checking on the Mexico forum and I'm sure you'll get connected with a bunch of brides-to-be that can direct you! WELCOME!
  12. Congrats and welcome! You should really check out the forum for Jamaica to connect with some brides to be going to the same area as you.
  13. YEA! Congratulations! Welcome to the forum - enjoy!
  14. Liane & Sunandsand, congratulations on finally getting things confirmed; we all know how frustrating that can be! This forum is a huge help to me as well but I made the decision today to do a site visit! So I booked the trip this afternoon for January 16-23, 2010 and I informed Tiara that I will be coming to SPECIFICALLY have my questions answered, view the premesis & get a feel for the area in general. I already have about 20 questions on a spreadsheet so if there's anything that is still needing to be answered by January I will try and get an answer for everyone! Cheers, Nadia
  15. I'm so impressed! Keep up the great work...you've got me inspired!
  16. I can totally relate to having to prove your relationship. My fiance is not Dominican but is a Dominican permanent resident and has been living and working in DR; we met almost 4 years ago while we were both on vacation with friends and never imagined that just a few short years later we would be engaged!
  17. Great question! It would be really good to have a local florist who can provide more variety. There must be one out there. I'm going to check the vendor forum as well as the shout outs thread and maybe someone will have posted some information.
  18. Hey DLR Brides-to-be! Things have been pretty quiet on this thread for the last few days, I hope that everyone is doing well. I have good news! I have finally settled/confirmed "the" date...September 3, 2010 YEA!!! I have also confirmed HDC photography, Pastor Rick York to do the ceremony and I plan to rent out the Seaside Grill for the reception. Tiara says that the SSG holds 245 people and you can have it from 6:30-11pm. I figure that's more than enough time and if anybody still wants to party after that they can go to the disco! If anybody has more information regarding the SSG (menus, decor, place settings) please feel free to share. Thanks!
  19. No - they don't require your wedding party to have their documents translated. They may however ask for a regular photocopy of the picture page of their passports if they will be the ones to witness (sign the register) at your wedding. Also, I saw that you mentioned that you are having family as your BM and MOH; just so you know, your official wittnesses cannot be related to you! So you will have to find other people to act and sign as your witnesses. I've attached the webiste for the Dominican Consulate here in Toronto (if you choose to go to them to have your legalizations & translations done) D.R. Marriage Requirements Hope this answers your questions...good luck
  20. I'd say it depends on your price range! But I'm partial to the Dreams chain. They have fantastic 5* service, BEEEEUTIFUL rooms (all of them), great food, no reservations for any of the a la cartes, no annoying wristbands (which can ruin a wedding picture) and all of this for very reasonable prices! Check them out and pm me if you have any questions. I have been to all the Dreams resorts in Dominican Republic so I can share my experiences.
