  1. I had mine changed to a sweetheart neckline too... and seeing yours makes me think it was the right choice. thanks for sharing.
  2. We ordered Belsoi or B2. You can see them at Jasminebridal.com the color we ordered was wasabi and it's a one shoulder dress which is a very lightweight chiffon fabric. they had the best color selection for beaches IMHO. the dress cost $140 which my bridesmaids didn't think was bad. They have a peony and petunia both pretty pinks... check it out! Jasmine Bridal
  3. Love the idea of your shoes... love espadrils.... however, i think it would be better if the top of the shoe matched the dress. the espadrill part on the bottom can be the natural fiber. I have seen a bride wear something like this to her wedding in puerto rico and it looked great. does the shoe come in white/ivory to match your dress?
  4. i meant is there a thread that i'm missing? I'd love to see more pics for inspiration for shoes, jewelry, etc.
  5. is there a site where brides are showing photos of their shoes? I need some serious help. I found these at Von Maur which are so pretty. but they are high... and my dress is long, so this flower is probably not necessary
  6. Positano bride, wow!! what an amazing location for a wedding. we just went to Italy for the first time this summer, and I would love to go back (maybe for our 1 or 5 year anniversary!?) I hope you will share your pics with us. May is just around the corner!
  7. I didn't want one, and I'm going to have two! My fiance's family threw one for me in San Antonio and my mom is throwing a big one here. They insist... and would probably feel bad if you did not allow them to do it. I totally agree with you. Plus my mother and father HAD to book a frickin post reception here in Chicago which is even more annoying. As Jazzy Jeff would say "Parents just don't understand"
  8. Our friend Chris will be doing our ceremony. There is no need for him to be ordained or anything since it's not legal in Mexico. But it will be very meaningful and I know he'll take the job seriously. He was planning on going to the wedding anyway, so we don't need to pay his way. It's perfect! Better than a complete stranger who got a certificate off the internet which anyone can do.
  9. Here are some pics of my invites. Thanks again to you lovely ladies for the awesome support and ideas! I stole so many ideas from Marie Sam - she was so super kind to share all of her layout and wording with me (Thank goodness!) So far everyone loves them, so I it was worth the effort. <a href="http://s59.photobucket.com/albums/g315/nicitica/?action=view&current=80bc75c4.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g315/nicitica/80bc75c4.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
  10. I just sent out my invites on Monday (Passports and I love them!) and I already received my first response! We expect between 90-100 people... so much for a small destination wedding right?
  11. Lucky for us, my fiance won some money in Tahoe... so, we booked an unexpected site visit March 3-8th. We will be staying in Akumal and looking forward to it! Plan to visit Lol-Ha, Casa Romero, Turtle Bay Cafe, some shops in Cancun and I'll probably do a spa day while Jasin golfs. Yes!!
  12. I want to create menus, drink menus, etc... but i am running out of steam! these look so nice.
  13. i used one of these, but i got stuck on the place cards. I cannot figure out how to change the red box/stripe to my own color!!
  14. Will one of you lovely ladies invite me please? I'd like to see this stuff. Thanks! Nicole
  15. So, we ended up not booking maroma, only because Secrets is so large and we got a great deal for a suite with private terrace and poop at Ceiba del mar. but I looked again at the Maroma site and the Spa looks ridiculous!!! I'm sure it was a great honeymoon.
  16. we finally booked our 4 night mini-moon at Ceiba del mar. If you book, the best deals by FAR are found on their site. I asked for quotes and was given a higher price directly. fyi!
  17. Please show us your photos! I love Tulum!! I'm going to be married in Akumal, but we'll be definitely visiting the beaches and restaurants in Tulum as well. Congrats to you! Nicole
  18. I love the second one. It's really different. Also, I think I'd like the first dress better without the sash actually! )
  19. We are buying our own liquor/wine/beer for our reception. I would like a signature drink (ideally made with tequila), or 2 drinks... Our color is lime green, so it would be cool to incorporate that (obviously a margarita would work). If you have any recipes to another great drink I'd love to hear it! Thanks!
  20. I have not even thought about menu, programs, table numbers etc. this will come in handy
  21. I was trying to figure out a way to have something floating in the pool, but maybe these around the pool would be great. Do any of you lovely ladies who used this idea have any photos to share? Thanks for a great post!
  22. Hi ladies... I hope all is well. I took a little break from planning and now I feel like I am behind. My BMs have not yet ordered their dresses (lime green is impossible). But I do expect to have my invitations done this week or next. I ordered some sample envelopes (does anyone else have a suggestion of vendor here), and I did pick out my wedding band last month. I think I need some major help organizing!
