  1. I'm going barefoot in the sand! OOH, can't wait, but I will have a pair of pumps for my pics.
  2. We've been together for 6 years but for the last year of our engagement, we haven't done anything. It's been a drastic change for my fiance, but I told him he would have to wait. . . .
  3. Okay I got over the fact that amazing photography costs a lot and just researched and researched and researched! I finally found a photographer out of Virginia Beach, Keith Cephus Photography. Keith's work is breathtaking! I found someone that we were willing to pay and who we connected with over the phone. I knew Keith was our photographer when I went to his blog and saw Mesita's (a fellow BDW bride) wedding pics. My breath was literally taken away! So we hired him! Keith Cephus Photography "Your Choice for Photographic Excellence" His prices are up there, but he will negotiate. His calendar fills up quickly so if you want to book him, contact him now.
  4. I only got the price list because I booked. I know that some brides may want to know that info before booking. I was set on the Jamaica and the resort anyway, so I just went ahead and booked based on the packages and would worry about the rest later.
  5. Okay I don't know how to post attachments on here so if you want the price list, just PM me or email me at [email protected] and I will send it to you.
  6. I have a price list that I got when I booked. . . I will have to try to find it in my emails. . . I will post when I do. . . I'm really excited now because I'm planning and everything is ok for now. . . The resort IS getting mixed reviews, but I hope all works out by the time we get there next year!
  7. great pics! I must have misread your other post about the number 3 as in guests! your turnout was great!
  8. I thought it was kind of cliche to get pregnant on the honeymoon. . . I will be up in age by the time we get married (32) as far as having kids are concerned, so I'm sure we will try on the honeymoon . .. .the FI has been ready since our three year mark and this year makes 6! I forgot who posted about drinking on the honeymoon, but that's me all the way, and I don't want to be preggers downing shots of tequila! SO we will try on the honeymoon and my family is pretty fertile and twins run on both sides of the family so hopefully we will kill two birds with one stone!

And then who knows where the rest of the night will take us, as long as its a fun one and I get to enjoy it with all my close friends and family! WoW! You only had three guests?!? If you don't mind me asking, how many people did you invite? I was worried I would go over the 20 ppl limit in one of the resort packages for a cocktail hour and reception . . . We're inviting about 50 people and expect about 30 to show. . . We don't really know yet. We will be having a reception, especially since a set up is provided in the package price. . .
  10. I wouldn't say anything to them . .. they obviously want a response or they wouldn't have planned it that way and for you to hear about it. The last thing you need on your mind is worrying about people crashing the party. . . But if you must say something, don't get your guests involved, just speak to the people directly . . .
  11. Seems like fun! Would like to do it, but not be well received by all of the guests.. .
  12. Hopefully if my Daddy is able to come, he will walk me down the aisle. Sorry to hear that some of you brides don't speak to your fathers. . .
  13. Well, I'm following tradition on that one, even though the whole idea of a DW kind of defeats the purpose of tradition. I don't want him to see me or the dress before the big day when I walk down. . . We're going to sleep in separate rooms the night before. I would say do what makes you happy. . .it's your wedding!
  14. guess we'll have to put that in the budget. . . these numbers keep adding up! The FI and I are both in the serving industry and are firm believers in tipping- generously. I would say if you are going to do it, stay between 15 and 20%, below that I believe would look cheap. . . even though you are paying a nice fee for the services. . .
  15. NICE!!! I'm working on mine now! I think I'm going to do a pic of a beach in the background as well. They would go with my (early) reply post cards. thanks for sharing!
  16. We are arriving on a Monday and our guests on Tuesday and we get married on that Thursday. Hopefully we will have enough time, if not, it's not too late for us to arrive earlier!
  17. I was nervous about this as well! We went in October five years ago and it rained, but the sun was out the next minute! I wouldn't worry if I were you. The weather is pretty unpredictable during hurricane season. I'm sure it will be a beautiful day either way!
  18. I will say that a TA helps out a lot with that info! If your daughter has not already hired one, she should consider it. I hope you find what you're looking for!
  19. Yes! I'm getting married there next July!! I've already booked our date. I will tell you that the wedding coordinator is not very forthcoming about extra prices for the wedding until you book. My travel agent from this forum (yay!) is helping. The resort looks gorgeous!! But there have been some problems with the opening, which is understandable with a new resort. I do hope that all is well by the time we get married!
  20. hi i live in Md too, but our wedding will be in Jamaica. this area is just too expensive for a wedding, much like New York. good luck and happy planning!
