  1. now im really confused! below is the email I sent and the reply from the priest in cancun "Good Morning,my partner and I are due to be married at The moon palace on 2nd June 2010 at 3pm for the catholic wedding package. I have been in contact with Wedding coordinator at Moon palace Cristina and she informs me that the wedding will not be legal. We have completed all the pre wedding classes at our church in the UK. Would it be possible for us to have a civil ceremony so that it is legal and then be blessed at the same time. It is very important to my partner and I that god is involved in our wedding" reply= Dear Clare, Greetings from "sunny Cancun". I spoke with Cristina and perhaps there was a confussion. Do not worry, you can be married here at the Immaculate Concption Chapel. The documents needed are: Baptism certificate (updatwd) Confirmation Certificate Pre-Cana course certificate A letter from your priest giving me permission to marry you outside your parish All the documents original, please Send me those documents and I will be glad to marry you. In Christ, so is it legal?? waiting for confirmation back, ll keep you posted!
  2. thats such a shame, I can imagine getting all excited waiting for them to arrive and then the bitter disapointment of not liking them or being happy with the quality. Ive ordered real touch here in the UK. they have fab pics. I just hope they work out ok....
  3. they look lovely! definately the best way to go. I've managed to get hold of a real touch supplier in the UK - they are very rare over here!! Shes making mine for a fraction of the price of the resort and I get to keep them!!
  4. wow! really beautiful. the blue will definately pop against your dress
  5. loving all the shoes!! so many options! I have to go with heels unfortunately my H2B is over 6F and im only 5 foot 3!!
  6. I wish the UK had a palace resort office I could call! although maybe thats for the best with the mood im in
  7. Wow, they really cant ask for anymore. Great job. With all the links, advice and prices they have no excuses (heres hoping anyway!)

Then we have people that say they are coming, then say no, then say yes.... and it is totally frustrating. I am trying to be open about it, but seriously if I was invited to a DW I would figure out the price, budget.. save..and either book or not. I have so much going on right now, and dealing with our guests is driving me insane. We are busy with our Design Company, which is great but has delayed OUR invites and are now going out tom. They should have been out the end of March, which is only a few weeks behind, but still!! Anyway, sorry I vented, but I read all your posts and needed to spill my thoughts as well. I am just thankful I have this forum! Without you girls, and the previous brides I don't think I would have gotten this far in planning!! Thanks Vent away!! Same here if someone asked me to a destination wedding I would look at prices, see if I could get time off and then decide yes or no. either they can afford it or they cant, just be honest! I love how some people avoid you like the plague when you need a answer. Its quite funny really to watch them squirm when you know they arent coming just havent got the balls to tell you! I just need to know so I can organise favours, name place cards etc. One of our guests wanted to wait and see if the prices went down... they havent they have gone up and now hes not happy but its really not my problem. I have enough stress thanks

I think because i'm a uk bride its different - we dont have a central office (i think US have a miami office or something??) I havent even got a contract! I requested the catholic package right at the beginning. I was told I would be contacted by a WC three months before so in the meantime I had my paperwork sorted and signed and did my catholic marriage classes, get my dress etc. the three month time came and went so I decided to email maribel at MP for some info on flowers. she was very helpful and got back within 2 days. I was then assigned Cristina. I sent her an email with some standard questions (meal options, hair/makeup costs) it took her 5 weeks to email me a response and she included the package options. This was the first time I had seen the immaculate package option details so obv I freaked when I read the small print!! At no point was I told it wasnt legal! I emailed Cristina and maribel sunday morning and had a response back she doesnt think its a problem to have both a civil ceremony first to get the legal stuff done then have the priest take over and do the blessing. I have emailed the priest so hopefully he can clear things up, I dread to think how much they are going to charge me thou!!
  10. Flights are quite expensive. like the previous poster states Thompson and Thomas cook are the main ones. We are using Virgin as we are going straight onto our honeymoon so have to get chartered flights. Virgin are the most expensive and its not a direct flight!! have they tried looking on the website 'on the beach' its an independant. if they type that in you can book flights, hotels or both and they give you a list of all flights / airlines and days and can sort by prices. Good luck
  11. I have emailed the WC about having both a judge and a priest present but havent had a response yet. It took her 5 weeks to give me the info and when i read the small print it stated it wasnt legal. I called my priest and he said that if the country you are married in doesnt consider it legal it wont be legal in your home country, Im so annoyed she took 5 weeks to get back to me with basic package information its a joke. if i dont get a response by wednesday I am calling them up I dont care if I have to stay up til midnight!!. I too am having problems with people booking, 4 people swear they are coming (its 6 weeks until we fly out!!) One hasnt even sent off for his passport (they can take up to 8 weeks in the UK) and the other is suppost to be a groomsman!! and yes we have paid for his suit..... we had to get all the same and i couldnt take the risk of the shop selling out. I just dont think people realise the stress they cause until they are in the same position. i'm just trying to stay sane......
  12. ok so i have finally received an email back from my WC (5 weeks in total). Balls up number 2- we booked a catholic cermony at the very begining in may 2009. Now i have been told that the wedding isnt legally binding and we have to be legally married before the ceremony!! WTF!! what is the point of that? and if the ceremony isnt legally binding what is the purpose of the wedding certificate they will be giving us in mexico. I get married in just over 6 weeks. i'm so stressed now i just dont need this. has anyone else had this problem?
