I too was a bit worried, like the previos poster said i definately thing a couple of the reviews were from one group of people. You can get sick anywhere in the world you just have to be sensible like drinking the bottled water and having them cook the food in front of you, beware of food which looks like its been out a while and avoiding meat thats on the bone. ive never been ill and ive been all over europe and the carribean. its a fabulous hotel so dont let it put you off. I figure some people just see the bad in everything!!

Newbie headed to Moon Palace for October Wedding
cb280182 replied to luchdiamond's topic in Newbies!!
make sure you check out the 2008/2009 moon palace brides link. its got so much info. happy planning! -
you have a choice of three gazebos of different sizes (one is a catholic chapel - thats were I am having mine) or you can have the beach wedding althou I have heard it gets rather windy! you can email the hotel and see whats avaliable, they will usually email you the list of gazebo with pic, they are all stunning thou. happy planning!!

beautiful hotel, it was my second choice. I love the little chapel they have. Good luck, this forum is so good for gaining information and settling nerves!

I cant believe it, i emailed my WC, Cristina, 4 weeks ago with basic questions trying to book the evening meal and how many songs for the ceremony etc I will need and I still havent had an email back. Yet some of you have your restaurants booked, menus choosen, cake favour and decorations picked, the lot. We fly out in 7 weeks time. i'm getting so peeved. I know loads of people are saying it works out once you get there but coming from the UK I really feel like im going into this blind. i'm only getting married once and I want to minimise the 'what ifs' and have time to organise alternatives. i've already been stung once with the bouquets and only found that out by sear luck and was able to get some real touch flowers which will be ready in time. lord give me patience.....

I think my confidence in the service was knocked by my travel agent at home. I requested a catholic wedding when I booked last year and only found out 4 weeks ago that the request wasnt passed on to MP. Mad rush comenced to organise the paperwork etc i didnt know they needed. By some miricle the priest wasnt already booked on the day. Just have to try and reign in the guests now!! My problem is i'm an unpatient organiser which isnt a good quality!

On another note its now 4 and a half weeks since I emailed the wedding co-ordinator with my questions. I know it was about 3 pages long but seriously 4 weeks??!! Plus some guests arent being very helpful. My BM only sent her passport off for renewal yesterday and we go in 8 weeks (they say it can take 2 months to process) I feel like I have had no support or help with planning or advice, considering I helped A LOT with my BM's wedding last year. Some guests have decided they are coming but still havent booked (but insist they are coming) which means I have to order more favours and then get them engraved etc. One of the extra unbooked guests has informed me they are now vegetarian... i've already requested the steak house so god knows what they will be eating. H2B isnt really helping either, he's so laid back he is horizontal ( as long as me and him are there he doesnt give 2 hoots - lovely but not helpful when trying to make descisions!!) STRESS!!!!!! i thought this was suppost to be the easy option!!!

HI, i did notice in a previous post that there is a shop on site that sells souveniours. i'm not sure how much they cost? They may sell shot glasses / cigars etc? I'm hoping they sell a little something for our male guests. I am transporting favours over but chosen quite light things, pashminas for the women with glass shell wine bottle stops and little fans, lottery scratch cards and fish shaped bottle openers that i've had engraved for the men. I really would like a shot glass and/or cigar to add to the male gifts. If anyone can advise on what is in the shop i would be very grafeful!

I did look into ordering the flowers from a florist in Cancun (about a 30 min drive away for the hotel) I dont really think they would stop a member of your party on your wedding day from bringing the flowers on site but i doubt they will be happy about it! It is a risk and i'm not sure how much input you would have before hand with the language barrier etc. For me i'd like to see them before hence I went with real touch but its whatever you feel comfortable doing. Good luck

I am hoping they will split my free bouquet and make two centre pieces for the chapel that can then be transfered to the restaurant for the evening reception. I have heard they are very helpful and a few of my friends advised to wait until I got there to organise the flowers but they are important to me and I didnt want to be stuck out there with only minimal options and paying through the nose for a few stems that are going in the bin the next day. I am so excited its only 10 weeks!! Waiting to hear from the dress shop as my dress is due in any day. I'm glad it all worked out for you futureMs moulton i have been following your posts on the stress you had with lack of communication etc. Its good to hear and makes it a little easier as i havent had much info or communication from my co-ordinator.

Hi, I have finally been assigned a wedding coordinator here name is Cristina. I sent her a 6 page word document of all the question and pictures I have been gathering over the last 6 months two weeks ago and so far only had one question answered. I am going with the free package which includes a bouquet. I emailed her asking if I could have a colourful bouquet, dont mind what flowers just tropical and bright. However she told me I ony have two options avaliable and they are both white. Lovely dont get me wrong but I had my heart set on a tropical bouquet. Plus the prices of bridesmaids and buttonholes is so expensive. I worked out that to have the bouquet I dont like, 2 bridesmaids and 6 buttonholes with two corsages it would be £395. almost all the wedding party are coming home the day after the wedding and it feels like such a waste. In the end I went with real touch flowers by bloominggorgeous.net. the lady was so helpful and customised what I wanted even thou I had left it late to order. the total price for everything with a bouquet i love comes to £205 including p+p. Plus I get to keep them!!! We gets loads of baggage allowance with Virgin (2 x 23kg suitcase per person) so transporting them wont be a problem. I am a little disapointed in Moon Palace. I would of though tropical flowers would be avaliale in the tropics!!??
