My fiance's parents are very conservative and I know they will not have it that we sleep in the same room. My FI is not the type to disrespect their wishes so I think we will not be in the same room AT ALL until after we are married. I am kinda excited about that as I think it will make our wedding that much more special.

Ah, so basically you run the show and keep all the wheels turning That is great! All the best to you both!

Those are real cute lrdavis! Did you have them dyed or you bought them in that colour? Do you have other lime green accessories? -
I had a similar incident with a timex watch. It gave me a horrible itchy rash and I had to stop wearing it. I still have a scar on my left wrist from it.

That's wonderful news! I am glad you guys made out okay and are now in practice! Are both of you chiropractors?

Hey, so some have asked for my competition pic...I was a bit shy to put it in my siggy...still shy to put it on here, but here is the link to the show I was in. I am the only black girl in a red sparkling 2-piece suit and a green 1-piece suit; start from img_7648: http://sportsnaction.exposuremanager...1&photo_page=3 I wasn't as lean as I wanted to be and my abs never really came out (stupid cheat cookies are blocking them!). However, not too bad for a debut. I was 122 lbs in that pic, down from 135 lbs 3 months prior. My goal for the next comp is to be in the one-teens and have a six pack to boot. It all comes down to diet, so I have 8 months to get it together! The leave-a-bit-on-the-plate challenge will be tough, but I will keep it in mind whenever I am eating out and not preparing my own food.

Well today started out a bit shaky, but better than what I would usually do. I didn't have time for a full breakfast this morning, but I picked up a bagel with cheese on my way to work and took my vitamins. I threw in my bag some muslix cereal which I just finished eating with water -- not milk. I also packed a banana, some rice cakes which I'll eat with jam and peanut butter, and some cheese and crackers. Considering I would have normally ordered a pizza and ate it all by myself, I think this is a good step up

I have told my MOH not to throw me one as I would rather have people at my DW and party it up there. Having said that, if I was being thrown one I would not object. Sometimes people just want to do things for you and who am I to say no to something done for me as long as I knew they were not over-extending themselves? I say if someone cares about you enough to throw one for you, just be gracious and enjoy!

Welcome ashore BDW! You may have found it already, but here is a thread about Dreams La Romana: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...-romana-39815/ You will find tonnes of information from fellow brides also planning a wedding there! Happy planning!

And then it was 7 months later... How did it turn out? My experience with non-compete/non-solicitation clauses is that they are generally very tough (and expensive) to enforce unless maliciousness or extreme disadvantage is clearly evident. I think you and your DH will come out of it okay because the guy is retiring and he said his contract was null and void anyway. I hope it works out for the best.

I wonder what would make him come to that reasoning and if it is necessarily from pure bigotry? Does Louisiana have more problems with prejudice than other parts of the US? I know such a reasoning would not fly in metropolitan cities like NY or Toronto where there are so many mixed people you can't even tell who is what anymore. However, I do have mixed friends/visible minorities who live in more 'ethnically homogenous' areas and they say they encounter prejudice issues even today. NONE of them would say that they regret being born or being mixed but they do admit it can be very fustrating. I like to quote Bullworth in the face of subjects like these: "We just gotta keep f**king until we're all the same colour!" -
Here is a thread of other people's budgets: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/f9/budget-933/ The problem with the thread, though, is that it is very hard to tell what the dollar figure that they are quoting includes and what it does not. For example, does your $5K budget include EVERYTHING including your rings, attire, marriage legalities, travel, etc? If it does, I would say you will be VERY hard pressed to host 200 people. I tried to work with a $5K budget to host 60 - 100 people when I started and found that I just couldn't get the price low enough...and I was trying to low ball EVERYTHING. If $5K excludes your travel, attire, rings, and legal fees, then you may have a chance, even at an AI.

Okay so here is my weekend workout update: Saturday: legs, calves, and cardio at the gym. I also taught an aquafit class. Sunday: shoulders/triceps and cardio at the gym Diet was unfortunately subpar. Too few meals spread too far apart and too calorie dense. I recently bought a cake to eat with my meals which I would be okay with if the meals were not so scattered. Tonight I will inventory my kitchen and see what I have that I can work with to have more balanced meals for the week.

Today I did my shoulders/triceps and then got kicked out of the gym before doing my cardio...so I went to another gym and got in 20 minutes of uphill treadmill running before I was kicked out again for closing. I really need to get to the gyms a little earlier... Gonna do my abs now (planks instead of crunches...my low back is acting up )

Dislike...to hard to keep clean Les Miserables, the novel, by Victor Hugo?

So for Saturday Oct 17, 2009 I taught my aquafit class and then went to the weight room and did my leg workout. Then I went to my home gym and worked out my calves and did 32 minutes on the elliptical before I was, once again, kicked out of the gym at closing time. I will do my triceps/shoulders tomorrow instead of taking a rest day and then start week 2 fresh on Tuesday (Monday is my rest day).

Excellent stuff Sgt. Pepperette! Way to get that workout in there! I am ALL about the late night workouts after a day of procrastinating! Sorry for the delayed responses. Normally I am on here like a crack addict but I have been afk all day. FI took me out to a murder mystery dinner as a surprise date which was nice...ofcourse it meant I took liberties on food again. That is my absolute biggest weakness and one that I intend to manage by the end of this season! As for my shows, I did a fitness figure competition 2 and 3 weeks ago and placed second in both. The girls who beat me out for first place basically was a little bit more lean than I was, which of course comes to the DIET. Anyway I placed enough to do finals in April 2010 so I have time to get a good handle on my preparation. Definately, I would love to give tips and support. My regime is a bit intense but I have always wanted to make fitness and health a large part of how I identify myself as a person, so I am thrilled to finally be 'living the life'. I am really passionate about it and I think seeing this group forming on this website really made me all the more determined to commit to it. Thanks for taking me on and I look forward to us spurring each other on to healthier lives!

Do you guys keep a diet/workout diary? I have been doing so since I've decided to do shows and it really helps to keep a log of your progress. Sometimes, if you seem stuck in a rut and you look back at the logs, the reason for the rut will be quite clear. I basically bought a notebook from the dollar store and I write my diet on one side and my workouts on the other.

Great! Thanks Ginalyn! Well my case is a bit peculiar as I just finished a show so I will most likely be gaining weight for the next bit, but my real goal is to maintain the workout schedule and establish a reasonable 'off-season' diet that doesn't involve me gorging on all kinds of junk at my leisure. I also want to be a beacon example for my FI who always talks about being hardcore in the gym but never quite gets there. I look forward to being an active participant!

Thanks Poohshek! I followed your words of encouragement and I trekked it to the gym at 9:30 pm and did my full back workout. I only got in 25 minutes of cardio though before they kicked me out of the gym at closing...normally I like to do 35-45 ...but I did get my abs in when I got home; all 100 crunches focusing mostly on lower abs. Tomorrow I teach another aquafit class and hopefully I will get in my shoulders/triceps/legs/cardio/calves.
