  1. I love it ! Great idea for walking out of the church!!!
  2. I am soo sorry about your situation! Hopefully she will calm down after the wedding - just hang in there! Mods- I think we need a main thread about this, it sucks we all have so many issues!
  3. Another thing too is to know how to apply it, Mary Kay has different shades for different places on your eyelid so its so easy to apply and it always looks great- I have been applying my makeup like that forever and so many people ask me how I do it! - Also if you go to the makeup counters have them not only put the name but have them actually put the makeup on a face card for you that way you can match when you are at another store! Oh and for warm humid weather I love maybeline mousse and all over color sticks (you can use both on eyes/cheeks and lips)
  4. I have a similar situation, and I only expect things to get worse. I'm sure everyone tells you to let it not bother you - but I'm sure just like me you can't help it. I just keep trying to "kill" my FMIL with kindness, but after she lied to us to try to have the wedding postponed (she used to love me just like your FMIL). I think she is just not used to the idea that her "baby" is getting married - I used to think this was just a saying but my FMIL literally told me that i was STEALING her son! I was like I never proposed- why are you mad at me? Sorry for the mini rant but I totally feel your pain. If I figure out a way to handle I will let you know - and if you figure it out - let me know please I will owe you one! For now just go out with some friends have some fun and forget about all the stress!!
  5. I think if you have everything you need then showers aren't really necessary. Maybe if you want you could organize a girls lunch when you get to Hawaii, no gifts just good times!
  6. I have been to puerto vallarta a couple times and I have never really had a problem - I have actually never brought bug spray on vacation in Mexico and I have always been fine. To be sure just pack a can of spray and if you need it you will have it! Also you might want to check when the rainy season is - if its rainy there is a better chance for bugs.
  7. Where did you get the picture in the background? I have been looking everywhere and can't find one!
  8. I have a pair of white pants and I think they would look great with a nice top as the other girls were saying. It would look very nice and summery IMO. Good luck -Maybe ask someone else you know going to the wedding
  9. Love them! I wish I didn't have to buy so many!
  10. Oh and lisaloo - I am addicted to your thread about your wedding dress! I can't wait to see the final result! Thanks for the advice!
  11. Thanks for the advice ladies- I think I am going to go with my first instinct and wear a bra. Sunshine - I hope everything works out, my FI's dad got laid off and his mom is using it as an excuse to have us postpone the wedding (not happening). My FI and I have a little thing were we sing that Bob Marley song 3 little birds, the part with "everything thing is gunna be alright" - it started when we got engaged - we knew there would be troubles ahead but it has made us laugh in some bad/sad/frustrating times! You too will be fine and at least you will have each other! Kathy- I have a short torso too! I always suspected it but after dress shopping it was embarrassing how bad it was (the "boobs" of every dress especially the halters were way above mine!) I would just think of what shape looks good on you and stick to that - it always seems to help me! Good luck!
  12. Here is my FI's suit we got it for under $100 at Kohls And we got the GM's shirts and pants at Kohls too (I work there..great discount!) They were actually on clearance for $13 each and I had a coupon They are going to wear the shirt with khaki pants We are getting married in a church so I think it will be a nice compromise of the church and the beach
  13. The one I know of is when the bride will dance with anyone for a dollar, some families pin the dollar on the dress and others just collect the dollars! There might be more variations but that's the one I know!
  14. One way to do it is to have friends come with and hit up a couple of Targets- I think I am going to try it Ill let you all know how it goes!
  15. I personally like it but I know a lot of my friends had never heard of it before. I think its a cute fun dance-plus when else are you going to slow dance with your FI's friends, your cousins and other random guests?
  16. Hey everyone - I kinda browesed the thread but didn't find what I was looking for- sorry if I missed it! I think this should be an entire sub-forum everyone has body image/weight woes, no matter what "size" - but I am getting off topic. I bought my dress and my mom suggested a built in bra in the dress, but I am not sure how much support there will be, my dress is strapless and I am a D cup so I am not sure what would work better. Any advice would be very helpful. Oh and I am looking for a good bra if I go the bra route, I have one from Victorias Secret but its not very supportive and I want to look nice and 'perky' for the wedding-lol! Thanks for the help and the good reading ladies!
  17. So exciting! I just got mine & our wedding isn't until June 2010, we will have to fight the urge not to try it on all the time! We need pics lady!!
  18. I think that finding the right dress and imagining yourself in it nice and skinny will motivate you get in shape! Good luck!
  19. Congrats! There is an entire RIU thread! Should be lots of help
