Okay, so maybe I'm just freaking out, but I'm sooo stressed now. We booked two condos through a rental agency for some units in the Waikomo Stream Villas. When I got my first rental contract email the prices that they quoted me weren't what they were charging me. I called and let them know and they fixed it, but then they forgot to credit me the $300 deposit that I had given them! I sent another email, so they added that. Now I've signed the contract and sent it back to them but today I saw BOTH condos on a realtors website for sale! I don't know what to do! I've emailed the rental company asking what's going on, but I still haven't heard from them. Has anyone else had this happen?

We are spending a total of 9 days in Hawaii. We will be staying six days on Kauai (3 of which will be after the wedding) with our friends and family and then flying to Oahu alone for the last three days. We figured that we're already somewhere beautiful so we mine as well stay and combine the wedding and honeymoon.

Warmer Weather: Iced Tea

We're doing our wedding in Kauai, so I'm a little partial to that island . Neither of us has ever been there, but our family and friends have and they loved it! From what I researched Kauai seems to be more laid back with more of a tropical feel. There is a website that you should check out that tells alot about each of the islands. I thinks its Hawaii's Official Tourism Site -- Travel info for your Hawaii vacation. You can also check out the price differences on websites like Frommer's Travel Guides: The Best Trips Start Here!. Welcome to the forum! You had mentioned that you were having trouble adding your ticker. Have you checked out the "Forum News and Updates" section? If you look under the Siggy Help sub-forum there are directions for adding the ticker. If that doesn't help then you should be able to just copy the ticker code from their page and paste it to your User CP on your BDW page. That's how I did mine. Hope this helps!

Welcome and congrats! I'm new to the forum too. Trust me, you are going to find soooo much information on here (especially for the areas that you're considering for your wedding).

I don't think it's too early to start planning. In fact, if you're having guests come it may be better to book the date now. We're getting married in Kauai in May 2010 and I've already booked with Maile Weddings. It worked out because now our guests have a date to work all of their planning around (many are staying two weeks and island hopping after the wedding). I would say go for it so that you're sure to get the date and officiant that you want. Good luck with all of your planning!

I totally understand where you're coming from. I had the same thing happen to me. I agree with Jaimelynn. Maybe if it is a financial strain on them, and you have the resources you could volunteer to pay for some portion of their travel expenses. It helped in our situation. We're going to pay for the hotel so his mom and step dad have decided to come to our wedding. Hope everything works out for you and if they decided that they can't make it, just try and remember everyone that WILL be there for your special day and consider it your dad and step mom's loss.

Can anyone recommend someone on the South side or Coconut Coast area that does wedding hair and makeup? There are so many choices that come up on a search engine! Thanks!

I have totally been there and know how annoying that is. I would have to say that I agree with your FH. If you're willing to dish out all that money for your wedding, the least the WC can do is get back to you with the info on the day she says she will. If this is a glimpse of how attentive she is you may want to rethink using her. The last thing that you want on the days leading up to your wedding is a WC that leaves you worring about the turn out of your big day. I would check out the forum and see if anyone else has had a similar experience the the same WC or if they went with someone else maybe they can give you a recommendation.

I don't see why it would be a big deal. We were thinking of getting married on my parents wedding anniversary. Have they mentioned anything about plans for their 45th? If not, and they didn't openly object to it when you asked then I would say go for it. If you're still worried about it maybe you could have your FH talk to them alone and see if they give him a more straight forward answer...

I realize that the original poster for this question has changed her location for Florida, but I thought I would add just in case anyone else had a similar question. We're using Kaye with Maile Weddings. She's been really nice and easy to talk to. Everytime I send her an email she gets back to me within 24 hours. She also allows you to change things in their wedding packages so you aren't paying for things you don't want. So far, so good!
