  1. We went to a brewery for my stagette and it was so much fun! Can't wait to hear how the rest of your night goes! Did I mention that I got the dreaded, 'Do you know where your fiance is?' call last weekend, on the night of his bachelor party?? lmao. Every bride-to-be's worst nightmare. He showed up at the house 2 hours later, having walked halfway across the city. What a guy. Melissa, I'm so excited to see your dress!!! I have my legal wedding tonight! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! I'm so excited! Working til 4, then getting ready and heading to Camrose, where my nana and papa live. They are acting as our witnesses. Out for dinner afterward, then to a pub to meet some friends. It's a dingy ol' pub populated by seniors and drunks, where we used to spend a lot of time playing shuffleboard and enjoying long, drunken stories from the seniors when Wes was in University there. Significant, and perfect for us. Got my bridesmaid dresses back! They are SO perfect, I'm totally thrilled. In the end it was worth getting them custom made, to get just what I wanted. I'll take some pics this weekend and try to figure out how to post them on Monday... any tips??
  2. We're delegating some of our stuff out to the bridal party and family so we don't have to pay for extra baggage, maybe that's an option for you guys??
  3. We are doing the bride with bridesmaids/family and groom with groomsmen/family before the ceremony and the shots of us/everyone together after the ceremony. This was simply because our ceremony is at 4 and the sun sets at 5! So we wanted to make sure we got a bunch out of the way so we didn't run out of sun. I still want the walk down the isle to be the first he sees me, but that's just personal preference.

You may just assume that she's going to come whether or not you invite her that way you aren't surprised but she's probably just threatening you and wouldn't follow through on it. I mean, who would travel to a different country for a wedding they weren't invited and not have the though cross their mind that gee, once they get there and make their appearance, (especially if they don't get the reaction they want from you guys) it's going to be one hell of an awkward week for her. Agreed! She'll wind up looking like an idiot, especially if people know she wasn't invited! Sorry for scaring you off with the spider picture! lol I confess that I'm posting here just to see if my new profile pic downloaded properly.
  5. Trisha, not sure how things will go that week, but if you spot us, feel free to join us for a drink!
  6. Hey ladies! My name is actually Annie, lol. My last name (which will technically no longer be my name as of tomorrow) is Mandseth. Hence, Amandseth. No worries, though, I can see where the confusion comes from! Melissa, do you have your dress yet?? I want to see it on you, so I can live vicariously through you! LOVE THAT DRESS!! I totally like the hairstyle NaM picked out for you as well, and with the shoes, you'll be totally gorgeously retro! jpitts78, if you come into the city, check out Aqua (the La Vie en Rose swimwear store) at West Ed. All thier suits are on sale right now! My girlfriend picked up a suit and an extra bikini top for $45! I got two cover ups for $35! Tomorrow is my legal wedding! YAY! FI keeps having to remind me that it's not our 'wedding'. lol, but I'm milking this for all its worth!
  7. We were over the surprise "40 person limit" for the ala carte(47ppl), so I made a stink about not being pre-warned and offered to take another restaraunt that could accommodate us. So we're having fondue. Was not my first choice (or my second), but I'm not stressing too much over it. Should be fun, not many ppl are accustomed to fondues. Also, she allowed us to offer the chicken dish to those who do not eat seafood. Had to give her a count prior to the wedding though. forevermexico, send me a message! [email protected]
  8. Very pretty, Melissa! But keep in mind the silver accent on your dress! I think I'd go with the first ones... I'm doing my hair like Taylor Swift in her Love Story video. There is a good picture at this link: love story by taylor swift - MyFoxHouston Photo
  9. Sorry to hear about that, hun. I'm actually having the opposite problem with my FI, who gave me total control over the wedding planning but has now taken a sudden interest in the financial end of things and is all over me about spending! Which is fair enough, but its hard to deal with the critisism. Oops. I digress... Are there any elements that have not yet been bought/paid for? We also had to rework some things in order to fit it all in. You could save on the brunch by doing the cooking yourself, or delegating it to family members. Or scratch it all together and do it at the resort. We're planning to just get the bridal party together at the buffet and throw some tables together the night before the wedding. There are great tutorials on YouTube about how to do your own bridal do's (which I'm making use of for my legal ceremony, TTD, and AHR to save big bucks). Are you having an AHR? We've saved a lot in the department on finding good deals for decorations.. Let me know if you want more details on that! I had a total meltdown last week, being so overwhelmed with $$ issues and my to do list. FI calmed me down and we went through the list and prioritized and put things into perspective, which allowed us to make some cuts. It was well worth it, as my stress level has gone way down. Truth of the matter is, there is only so much you can do at this point to save the dollars. So prioritize and see what can be cut, then step back and relax. It's no use stressing over what can't be undone. You should be enjoying this time, seeing everything come together and getting excited for the big day! Hugs!!
  10. I wouldn't worry too much about someone else trying on my e-ring.. mind you it depends on who the woman was. I'm not superstitious, but I can be catty!! hahahaha
  11. Those shoes are SWEET! Where'd you find them?? Two weeks and two days til I leave. Three weeks until the wedding. Two days until my legal ceremony. EEK! So excited. This is it girls, it's all coming together and our hard work is about to pay off! ~YAY US!!~ Went and got the marriage lisence yesterday, then to Costco to price out food platters for the AHR. Got home and needed a night to relax. Painted my nails. Vegged. It was niiiiiiiiiice. Finally feeling pretty confidant that things are under control. Whew.
  12. WOO HOO!! 3 weeks away from my wedding on the beach! And two days away from my legal ceremony! So super excited! I promise to share pictures upon my return, ladies!
  13. EEK! It's so exciting! forevermexico, send me a picture of you so I know who I'm looking for!! [email protected]
  14. I also got these type of fans, and what we did was remove the tassle and attach a cardstock tag with our logo on it, then reattach the tassle. Looks cute!
  15. I confess that I'm spending a lot more on my AHR decorations than I'm letting on to my fiance. Oops.
  16. Vikki, I'm not sure what you guys have in the States, but here in Canada Sephora will do make up trials for free, and show you how to do your own makeup for the big day. I know MAC does them as well, but I think they require you to spend $50 on product in order to take advantage. Which you likely will anyway, so you could do either. And thanks for the words of wisdom! I keep telling myself the same thing! lol, things do seem to be coming together though, so stress levels are down a bit. Now, if I could just stop dreaming about wedding planning, I may be ok! Prettyhazardous, thanks for the Frederick tip.. I'm headed there now. tee hee... My legal ceremony is on Friday. Just wearing a knee length white dress, but am going to try to incorporate old, new, borrowed, blue into the scheme.... We've asked my nana and papa to witness for us, since they won't be in Mexico. It's cold here now, so we're not going to do it outside, but I don't really want to just do it in their living room... Any suggestions??
  17. YAY! Looks great Kiera, I guess I should get on top of this as well! So excited for you, girl! Have a great time!!!
