  1. I am also using Brian. He did just raise his prices for 2010. The packages now includes a photo book and that has increased the price a bit. He is very responsive to emails and I love that. His web-site in briandesign.net You can also ask him if he has an assistant who can be your photog for a lower price. I read somewhere here that a Bride did that and saved some money and liked her pictures. The other photog I liked but was not free on my dates was Stacy Clark.
  2. The cakes are a steal compared to the prices found in the US. Have you looked at the prices in your area? Cakes start at $9 a slice near me for the most basic cake.
  3. I booked a cruise with them. Denise is very easy to work with. So excited!
  4. Did anyone inquire if more stylists can be present if you know you bridal party is large?
  5. Hi- all, I am back from being banned, I didn't read the rules and got kicked off for posting to share a photog. But, I get there May 2nd, so would love to meet you and get a drink too! -Emily
  6. What about a smaller resort? I stayed at Country Country resort last year. All the rooms are colorful little cottages, they have beach front or garden rooms, the garden is really pretty and quiter then beach front. Plus, they have fruit trees all over the property and you can eat fresh mangos and coconuts for free. We choose half board (just breakfast included--giant and yummy food) because Negril's beachfront is happening, there are tons of places to eat and hang out--the food is well priced, and you can just walk up and down the beach---no need for a taxi. It's nice to explore--AI's can get old. Then there is the cliff side, we went to dinner there but didn't stay at the resorts ( you do need a taxi to go cliffside). They are really beautiful, no beach but the water is really calm, you can just jump in or climb down the built in ladders. We might go back after our wedding in Montego Bay--and stay half the week cliff side then beach side for the rest of the week. Hope this helps. Country Country is just great, check them out.
  7. I would shorten it, to just below the knee. It's super cute, wish my girls could do that in a dress!
  8. What about lacy straps, you can have the seamstress make them detachable.
  9. Hi, Barginistas- Bath and Body Works is having an online sale 5 travel sized hand sanitizers for $5 bucks. The coconut verbena lime smells great, they even have fragrance free. Much nicer then the ugly versions by Purell, maybe you can match them to your wedding colors. Happy shopping. I am not sure if the store has the same deal. -Emily
  10. Hi ladies- Just found a website called myskins.com, it has over 20 different skin toned colors to choose from for seamless panties and bras. It's a little expensive but for those ladies doing a TTD it might be very helpful, or anyone worried about panty lines etc.
  11. I think this dress distress is normal. I haven't even gone into a bridal salon yet because my friend gave me her dress, which I like. I am afraid to go shopping because it is so expensive. Then I bid on an ebay dress, okay bid on two ebay dresses, and won them for a great price. Now I have three dresses and still feel like I haven't found the one. They all look good but I never got that feeling...I think it's just nerves.
  12. I love #1 or #3. #1 is sexy and sophisticated and sleek. #2 is more romantic and girly. Both really show off your figure. They are both classic, so years from now you'll look back at the pictures and still love them. You can't go wrong with either! Is one more comfortable? That's what did for me when I was looking.
  13. Wow, both dresses look great. I especially love the Jim Hjelm design. Island Bride- Did you send that design to Landy bridal or did they have that on their website?
  14. So. any up dates on the disappearing Disco? I have a feeling, Sherika is so overworked that she doesn't really want to deal with the possible additional services her resort offers. I posted a reply from her earlier that was in response to my question about having outside vendors for my cake and photography. And, she said, "some outside vendors are allowed" then said she only said that to find out which outside vendors I was using---so she can plan her day accodingly. Strange.
  15. I found one at Barnes and Nobles. Also check out the prom magazines this spring, they always have updos, and you have time since you'll be getting married in '11.
  16. I emailed Chic Events for a make-up artish.hair dresser. They were very prompt with their replies. Why don't you try them?
  17. When did you get that email, can you cut and paste it to the board?
  18. What is the deal with RIU I feel like nobody tells a consistent story.
  19. Did you email the WC? Or the sales coordinator Nora? I have seen in past posts that the italian restaurant can be used for your reception dinner.
