Hi ladies, If you want a upgraded cake at RMB, Sherika gave me Keisha's number, 876-886-4949. I asked Sherika about 6 months ago about getting a cake upgrade and she said it was impossible. But, apparently they have a baker now. I called Keisha today and it went straight to voicemail. So, I have no other info. I will post again when I get a response. Emily

Hey, RMB brides, if you don't use Tai Flora there is a $200 non resort vendor penalty fee. So, don't get locked into a contract with another vendor without considering that fee.

Sherika does better with bullets. Ladies, RMB, has new outside vendor rules, it's $200 bucks if you use an outside vendor. But, not if you use their reccomended vendors. The is some reccomended vendor list, that Sherika still hasn't emailed me.

I agree with Kay. If the tip is included I only give more if they went above and beyond my expectations. Some individual tipping may be nice for the servers and bartenders, who knows if they ever see the tips included in the bill. In general, in Jamaica, you will get better service with a few dollar bills to your maids, bartenders, etc. Start off with a tip when you meet them, then encourage their good behavior with the promise of a nicer tip when you leave. It works wonders. I would give your WC cash, they probably get all sorts of body lotion and other well intended gifts that they don't need, unless she specified something she wanted.

I like the WC at RIU. She answers all my questions.

Hi- just posted in the general Jamaica forum but RIU just posted reduced rates on their website, check your resort and travel dates then see if you can rebook your trips. We just had our TA rebook and we saved $500. And, we had the TA rebook the other guests and they saved too. Good luck!

Hi Ladies- RIU just posted some rate decreases on their website. The decreases are for certain travel dates so go check it out. I just had my TA rebook us and my guests and we saved an average of $500 per couple. I did not check to see if the other RIU's in Jamaica are also having sales but take a look non Montego Bay brides. Oh, I wore all sort of stuff and go no marks on anything, I even wore white.

I have done spray tanning at a company called Beach Bum, it is a chemical that increases the melatonin inside your skin so after the chemical process happens it should not rub off. When you first get it it does have a surface color that you shower off about six hours later, that could rub off onto clothing. I went to the tanning salon in the evening, wore dark loose fitting clothing, got sprayed down by the technician, then you get air dried by a blower, then went on my way. I just hung out and tried not to sweat and went to bed and washed off the tanner in the morning and had a great looking tan that lasted about a week. You can pick what color you want, it was about $40 bucks, and if it's your first time at this company you can two for the price of one. I would not put on self tanner then wear your wedding dress, you have to let the chemical work then wash off the tanner, then wear your dress. And, tell your fiance that tanning beds are dangerous, he should try the spray tanning if could save his life.

Check out RMB in thereviews section, some past brides have posted there West beach pictures there. I am interested in that site too, it is just a beach, not much else.

I booked a snorkeling/sunset cruise as a welcome/thank you for traveling to our wedding dinner. I thought it would be nicer and less work then OOT bags. Check out the vendor section for more details about the sunset cruises.

I gave Tai Flora a budget with a few specifics (like how many bridesmaids, groomsman etc.) and they gave me a quote back that was three times my budget! With a lot of items I did not request nor want. I really felt like they just ignored me and sent whatever package they wanted. It was insulting and I am not giving them my business. I can understand a few hundred over your budget but not two thousand over my budget. I really though a $1500 budget was more then resonable for 1 bridal bouquet, 4 bridesmaids bouquets, 4 bouttonires, 4 center pieces and a floral arch. Grandgarden came in $300 underbudget and did not suggest a bunch of unrequested items. I feel much more comfortable working with a company that respects the concept of a budget. Plus, Grandgarden actually responded to my original emails without having my resort wedding coordinator stepping in, unlike Tai Flora who did not respond to me until the WC asked them why.

I got a good response from grandgrden, too. They sent me a detailed price list, etc. Tai has still not gotten back to me.

I sent both Tai and Grandgarden a detailed list with images to see what their quotes will be. I will post on how fast they respond. Thanks for the info. PS I filled out both forms on Tai's website and emailed them earlier with no response.

Angie- I would just email her that you want to use another florist. I am using an outside photographer and baker, she said it was okay. Then I said I may use other outside vendors, and she just wanted to know beforehand, to help her schedule her tasks.

I like the veil and feather/flower you wore, is it white or ivory? And, will you sell it separately from the dress?

Hi, for those who used Talflowers, did it seem like they had a good selection? I really want Star gazer lilies...Did you need to request your flowers ahead of time. The WC told me I can pick everything a few days before but I get nervous about last minute stuff.
