I went through this when I first picked my location as well. I started looking at different destinations, resorts, etc., that might have been more affordable for my guests. My first choice pick was the El Dorado Royale. I talked with my travel agent about different choices and started comparing the dollar amounts. Finally she said to me "So you are willing to let a difference of about $400 come between an ok wedding and your dream wedding". That pretty much sealed it for me. Besides, we've let everyone know far in advance. Having our immediate family there was the most important to us, and they would be there whatever the cost. And having stayed at an El Dorado resort in the past, I know they will be getting a great vacation at a great resort. Good luck with your choice!

I am so sorry that you are going through this right now. I agree with happygilmore, just try to focus on the positive. You're still going to have a beautiful wedding with your wonderful FI. I know you may feel discouraged right now, but it will still be one of the best days of your life!

We are planning on getting married before we go. I haven't really put much thought into it as we will consider our Mexico wedding the real wedding. As for the AHR, we aren't planning on having a formal event, probably a big BBQ the following summer. Something more laid back than a formal reception.

I also love reading. My taste in books is all over the place! Enjoyed the Twilight series, the Shopaholic books, the Emily Griffin books. I like the Jodi Picoult books, but some of them more than others. Steven Berry, Stephen King, Clive Cussler, I could go on and on However, I LOVE the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. I'm currently reading it again for about the 5th time! Need to refresh the memory before the last book comes out in September

I am only having one bridesmaid, my sister, so I pretty much let her pick what she wanted. I told her my colors and let her go from there. She is going with a strapless chocolate brown dress that I think is perfect! (WTOO style 426) Not sure yet if she is going to wear the ribbon

I was wondering about make up for the big day. I'm trying to decide on whether to pay for the make up artist, or just go with the spa make up. Any comments or opinions would be great! Thanks!

I sent out my STD's a few weeks ago. I thought I knew who would be coming, but that has changed! The people I didn't think would come are coming, and the people I thought for sure would be there probably won't. I am sending out my invites in late May or early June.

I used the 100 free postcards for my STD's. They showed up quickly, and the quality is great!

We bought a leather furniture set about 2 years ago. One of the seat cushions on the couch ripped right down the middle about 4 months ago. It's not ripped on the seam, just right in the middle of the cushion. The store we bought it from has been good about trying to help, but we were told that Ashley themselves only guarantee their furniture for one year. Since our couch has since been discontinued, we are kinda on our own to try to fix it. We love the look of the furniture, and the price was good, but in the long run, just not worth it.

We loved the EDSS. Your wedding will be wonderful! The night we got engaged they helped set everything up. It was fabulous! The two waiters we had even brought out dessert while humming "Here comes the Bride". Judging from the effort they put out for an engagement, I can only imagine how great the wedding will be!
