  1. Are your guests planning to come for the whole week or just a long weekend? Keep checking the prices - mine went down around August (for this April) actually to half of what it was originally. I also sent my guests a list of all the things that were included at the resort so they'd know what they were getting. Also - some people will just complain - do what YOU want to do - the people that matter will come.

If there are any new requests for information to bring back please let me know & I will see what I can do. We have 35 people attending, booked Misha Earle for photos, gazebo location for the ceremony and we hired a DJ for the reception. Good Luck Elyse! I hope this new coordinator is as on the ball as she sounds. You will love Grand Palladium and have a beautiful wedding! Can't wait to see the pictures when you get back!
  3. First of all - GORGEOUS GORGEOUS dress! I got married April 10 in Jamaica this year and it was hot. When we were on the beach for the ceremony and cocktail hour, it was very breezy and nice, but pretty much everywhere else it was hot and sticky. That being said, you will be hot whether you are in a bathing suit or a wedding gown. My gown, as you can see, was strapless, and I was really glad I made that choice. it was kind of heavy, but not too bad. I made sure to keep drinking cold water and frozen drinks, and tried to stay in the shade when I could. You will be so busy being the bride that the heat won't bother you so much. I hate the heat, but that day, I wasn't that hot. Only you know yourself...you don't want to be weak and cranky on your wedding day, but you do want to be beautiful. You can keep yourself cool enough...I say get the beautiful dress you love and keep some cool towels around to wipe your neck and pulse points.
  4. i can recommend my photographer but not at that budget. Look in the Jamaica Vendor section for photographer suggestions. I used SunGold, Paula and Damian, who are awesome - they have associates who are also good - but do your research on which ones. https://sungoldphoto.com/ Good Luck!
  5. Great pictures and i LOVE that you had your dog there!!! Congratulations!!

We will be married in the fall though; I don't care if I have to club his head and drag him down the isle! I would like to get married in the Baltimore, MD area. I think inner-harbor is beautiful! If he is an MMA fighter he will enjoy the clubbing to the head, no : ) Inner harbor is very nice and there are some very nice hotels and restaurants overlooking the water. Congratulations and Welcome. PS - We love Carlisle - my husband wants to move there!

I do have low iron, which definitely contributes to the lack of energy, but I don't think that's my entire problem. He's tested me for thyroid before, and he just says that the values are normal. But thyroid problems do run in my family, in fact my sister is taking medication for her thyroid. And the compression pantyhose is an interesting thought. He's never done any testing to say that it's definitely circulation, he's just assumed it is and tells me to keep my feet up. How can I keep my feet elevated and exercise at the same time? He's telling me "when you're home, keep your feet elevated", then five minutes later "a lot of your problems are because of your weight, you need to exercise" I CAN'T DO BOTH DAMMIT! lol With the thyroid, a few of my friends, and myself, went to a doctor that swore that even at the lower side of normal, taking thyroid meds can help with weight loss (along with eating better and exercise). My one friend lost about 40 lbs and the other one has lost 80 lbs, so far - both having "the lower side of normal" thyroid levels. due to his location and my crazy schedule I stopped going and taking the meds, but since I have, I've been struggling to lose even a pound a week eating 1000-1200 calories a day with exercise, so I do think there is some validity to what he says. Lethargy is big with hypothyroidism.

As for the edema, he's sent me for an EKG and I've had urine and blood tests to rule out heart and kidney troubles, he thinks it's just poor circulation. But my thought is, my legs swell more when I'm out walking for long periods of time (2+ hours), wouldn't walking help my circulation? When the muscles in my legs contract, wouldn't they help force the blood back up to my heart? Just a thought... And it could be that I'm not eating enough, that makes sense... Although, I have 100+ pounds to lose, so even though I've slowed down my metabolism, wouldn't I still lose SOMETHING? Again, I don't expect to lose much with what I'm doing right now, but 5 pounds would be motivating enough to keep going.... And as for how I feel? I have one word that sums it up entirely: Lethargic. I know you must be so frustrated. Did he check your thyroid levels? Sometimes even if they are on the lower side of normal it can make a big difference to have it treated. Keep trying...something will work.
  9. Yes, it was Tracy, Jenise, Christine and myself - we had a great time chatting - sharing engagement stories, wedding dress shopping experiences, and Christine and I were able to (hopefully) give some advice to the ladies getting married next, having been there, done that. I loved meeting the other girls and we talked about doing it again in September - so hopefully more people can make it. Jenise took a photo also - if you can't post it let me know and I can do it for you.
  10. If you feel like your doctor is ignoring you, maybe you need to switch doctors. And good for you for changing your eating habits. You might not be eating enough, or often enough - your body gets used to eating the same thing all the time and needs to have the foods and times mixed up to get your metabolism moving. A good thing to do first is to keep track of what your eating during the day. you can track it on paper or online - there's a bunch of websites that let you do it - fitday.com is the one i've used. I'm struggling myself with not losing weight after a certain point - now i'm going to a nutritionist - eating a very high fiber diet. hoping it will kick in soon! Good luck!

Can't wait to see you ladies there and I don't know about you but I could sure use a margarita! Great idea - See you guys tomorrow!
  12. Maybe you should change this to a poll? I would also say Friday - I got to the resort on a Thursday for my Saturday wedding and couldn't really relax till after - plus, some of my guests left by Sunday.

I totally agree, I can't tell which ones are the new ones and which ones are the old ones. My fav girls are the same too Carly, Lauren and Melinda. Melinda is suprisingly awesome! I was so nervous because of what happened to the tappers last year. But she is great. IDK about the Boys because I loved Anthony. I gotta wait and see. anyone else love Cat Deeley She is so cute and I think she does a great job. The routines were awesome though and I'm excited because I can feel that the level of choreography is going to be elevated this year. Also, I am obsessed with Wade Robson routines? They are so recognizable, but they are freaking awesome! I hope Mandy Moore does some routines this year as well. I LOOOOVE Cat!!!! I keep telling my husband I want to be her! Definitely hard to tell who was who - Loved the routine with Pascha (I love him) was that hot or what? I can understand if they do couples - one star one newbie, but the groups on stage, although they looked and danced phenomenally well - make it hard to judge people on their own merit.
  14. I'm not sure how I liked the new format (i don't want to spoil for diamondpooch).
  15. Enjoy Aisha - it looks like it's going to be a beautiful day!
  16. Hot water and dishwashing detergent or shampoo. Let them soak for a little while and them gently wash them. That should get the makeup off.

  19. Aww Janine - sorry you are having a bad day, but don't feel bad for venting - we are here for you!!! I hope you get your invites soon! I agree with Aisha about keeping the TTD - it's once in a lifetime - I wanted to do the BD as a gift for DH and just couldn't get it together in time - now i'm thinking maybe for Xmas or his bday next year or anniversary - that is an anytime thing that he will always enjoy!
  20. Yay - so excited to meet everyone!
