I always take baby wipes - on the plane and when you get to your destination it is nice to be able to freshen up - especially if it is hot! Hand sanitiser (a must) and heaps of lip balm (with a sunscreen) I have my favourites and I hate buying brands I don't know

Well I can finally add to this thread - I tried Dallas Marie on as my "as if I would pick this it is too puffy and not beachy enough" dress and I fell in love. I put it out of my mind but when I was looking at the show us your wedding dress thread my heart skipped a beat when I saw it. I knew it was meant to be my wedding dress. I am ordering it in the next 2 weeks - I have to go back to the bridal store to try it on again and get the size right.

I think offering just beer and wine is quite acceptable - it is your wedding reception not a keg party. There is no need to go over budget just so your guests can drink spirits.

I am MOH to my best friend - gosh where do I start... The top 3: 1. She asked me to reschedule a 7 week holiday (booked before she got married) to europe for another friends wedding so she could have the date she wanted. 2. I have to now take 4 days of my annual leave to accommodate all the appointments she has made leading up to the wedding when she knows full well I have been accumulating leave for my own wedding next year - Oh sure I will cut my honeymoon short so I can get a spray tan!!!! 3. She can't make my wedding because she might not be able to afford it (but can spend $8 each for her 100 invitations) btw they are u-g-l-y!! (ok vent over...) I think as a bride you should at least be having some consideration for other peoples feelings. I know it is the most "important day" of a brides life but not at the expense of other peoples feelings. I am actually questioning the friendship with my friend of 10 years over her behavior...

Totally - I am even hoping some of our invitees don't come at all!!! My FI thinks it is an awesome idea that everyone will be there but I don't want to be a babysitter for our guests for the time we are away...

*BUMP* So does anyone know for sure if to get the official seal you can just post the form in (we are in Australia) prior to the wedding?? If anyone has done this some feedback would be great. I emailed the relevant authority and they couldn't help at all.

Your guests have the opportunity to contribute to something that not only you, but your family in the years to come will appreciate and treasure (not like a kitchen clock). If I was a guest I would be honoured to help out in this way. I say go for it. I would talk to photographers regarding payment options (ours has a paypal account) so you can choose who you want. If you do manage to fall on your feet in the meantime - you can use the spare money creating a great start to married life

I think go back to basics too. 1. Decide what type of wedding you and your FH want i.e. big, close family only, small. 2. make lists of venues and destinations - and as people have said as you go to the different forums, cross things off your list if they don't suit what your vision is. 3. If in doubt - google. 4. utilise the search function in the forum - it is amazing the info and resources that are here for you. Good luck

I did save the dates with directions to our website. I will still do a formal invitation as although my friends and family are "net savvy" - there is informaion that I want them to take with them to our destination (maps etc) as opposed to stuff that needs to be organised prior to the event like accommodation.
