Kristy thanks so much for the information. Now I'm on the hunt to find a person who will legally translate my paperwork - also, when do I get the apostille? Before or after I translate? Geez, it does seem like a lot of work, but I'm going to do what's necessary to make it all real down there. Someone had mentioned to me that insurance companies and things like that always ask for certified copies of my marriage certificate. How would I go about that if I need to?

Well then who knows what the heck this lady is talking about! It does make me nervous though that she said that. I just personally would like the wedding in Mexico to be the real deal. I guess now the confusing part is translating it. I wonder if I have to translate everything twice? I'm thinking I have to translate all of my paperwork into spanish to get married there and then after I'm married I have to get it translated here from spanish to english? I wish this were spelled out in specifics somewhere.

Kristy, can you tell me exactly what you did to get married? I know what paperwork I need to bring to Mexico to make it legal there, but what must I do when I get home to show them that I'm legally married? I spoke with my local clerks office and apparently she doesn't know what she's talking about! My situation is a bit different because I was divorced, but I believe that I have to get my paperwork and birth certificate apostillized? Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.

Ok, so I called my local county clerk and they told me that in New York state, out of state and country marriages are not recognized here. I did some searching online and only found information on same sex marriages, apparently their marriages are recognized here. I'm definitely not saying anything against same sex marriages, but why would they be recognized if they got married out of state and not a regular marriage. Does anyone have any other information?? Thanks!

Well, I definitely found a better rate than what my TA was giving me - here's what the website Playa del Carmen Airport Transfers | Cancun - Playa del Carmen ground transportation gave me. ALSO - I should find my date twins and hook up and get the same rate for all of us - if we combine all of our weddings together maybe that's an even bigger discount we could get!! Here's the email I got from them: Having everyone book their own service would work best. A percentage discount is better than a rate per person. Right now, a private round trip service for 2 people arriving alone with the discount would be 85USD. If more people book at once (same arrival/departure) the costs go down. We also provide shared transportation, but those units stop at other hotels as well, so I don’t think is the best option. The children travel free in the private units. For the infant if a special baby seat is required than he is counted as a person. I repeat, there are public rates visible on our website, but with the group code the discount applies, and the guests are notified of this prior to booking so they can rest assured they receive the best rate. You just have to let everyone know the discount code (post it on your wedding website/ send it by email). A dedicated link with info for the event can be set up on our webpage.

WOW! I have the same exact concern and the same exact problem! I don't use creams for fear that the other sink that isn't discolored will be lightened as well. I was actually considering getting microdermabrasian and hoping that will work - however I do love to be tan and thin that a light sunkissed (not Paris Hilton orange) looks great. I have a friend who just started a spray tanning business where she comes to your home and it lasts 7-10 days. I was considering that, but was worried how it may affect my dress. LadyDi - really?? Hmmm, I'm wondering when that changed, when we went in May 2008, we hopped a taxi from the airport. Our agent didn't include transfers in the price and then when I asked her she said that it was $40 each way per person, which just seems like a lot of money to me.

Hey, what is everyone doing for your transfers from the airport to The Royal?? Our TA gave us a quote of $80 pp for round trip transfers. That seems insane to me. We have one family of 5 people and you mean to tell me it will cost them $400 to get to the airport and back? That seems CRAZY!! We have people coming in different days and times - I wonder if I should just tell everyone to get a taxi, that it's much cheaper? What are you guys all doing?
