  1. Hello everyone! I don't like to ask too many personal questions, but we're booking The Royal, but I'm nervous that the package prices are kind of high. If you don't mind me asking, what your guests paying for their packages to come to your wedding??
  2. Yay for 4:00! Thanks Shay that's great. You must be getting nervous, I'm nervous for you! I'm just starting out and catching up on this thread has been NUTS! Maybride- if you don't mind me asking, I've been married before, do you know if I have to follow all of the old requirements with the birth certificate, etc.?
  3. Here are the prices I just got yesterday from our TA - it seems a bit expensive, but we're only having immediate family and while it may be expensive, they are getting a vacation out of it! It's not JUST for your wedding The Royal Land only per person in a Junior ste room 3 nights $619.00 5 nights $999.00 7 nights $1378.00 Gran Porto Real has a family ste now for 2 adts and 3 kids 3nights $473.00 per person based on a dble and children under 12 are free 5 nights $755.00 7 nights $1037.00
  4. Yeah, I was wondering that too! My resort just told me 3 days and I originally thought it was 4. Hmmmm, interesting!
  5. Thanks Stephanie, I was guessing at that time too, but I know there were discussions on sunset, etc., however I couldn't find them!
  6. Does anyone have info on the time of day to get married?? I'd like it to be early enough for it to be light out for the entire ceremony and pictures and then sunset later on for great pics and dark for the tables to be lit at night. Would 4:00 be good?? Anyone know?
  7. I've tried to read through all of these pages, however I'm not sure if The Royal offers group discounts? I see that they have a group sales department. Has anyone used this yet?
  8. I know that where I live the local food distributer sells actual edible flowers that you could use for your cupcakes. As for edible flowers, I'm a cake decorator and if there is a bakery supply store near you, you can find royal icing flowers already made that many times you can use for your cupcakes. Otherwise any of the other really beautiful flowers are more than likely gumpaste or fondant which you don't want to eat, but look very beautiful! Here's a link to my local cake supply that has edible flowers: Confectionery House :: Edible Decorations :: Royal Icing and Gumpaste Flowers PM me if you need more info!
  9. Has anyone gotten any 2010 prices yet?? I'm chomping at the bit to get them. It's tough planning in advance without knowing what it will cost!
  10. For those who are using the Ipod - are you going to do all the traditional things like cutting the cake, first dance, etc.? If so, who's going to basically run everything smoothly?
  11. I also forgot to mention that I've been emailing with Lili at The Royal and she has been GREAT! She's gotten back to me in less than 24 hours and has answered all of my questions, so for any of you that were working with someone else, be assured that she's going to be great. She's the only one I've spoken to, so I can't compare her to Zulma or Micala, but she's been very thourough so far and very nice.
  12. Shay! GREAT JOB! As for the arms, I know you're going to think I'm crazy, but have you see the perfect push-up?? My father always said the best exercise for the arms is the push-up and it tones the upper body and back. It's great because it can tone your arms fairly quickly and it's something you can do anywhere.
  13. I was looking at Moments that Matter also, but I do like that others have packages that give you some prints, although we can always print ourselves from the dvd that we get, however, I'm unsure as to if I will really do that.
  14. Ok, I'm feeling a bit silly, but very new to planning a destination wedding,,,,so I get the idea of the OOT bag, but is this in lieu of a favor or are you making these as the favors Just wondering what the OOT etiquette is, lol!
  15. I love these so much!! I'm wondering about the sizes as well. I think my group will be small enough that I'll be able to guess though.
  16. Wow everyone!! I'm just starting my planning and love all these sites. Thanks for sharing!! Wish I could share some info, but you guys are all seasoned professionals already!!
  17. To everyone who wants to do bording pass save the dates or invitations themselves, I found this site that has instructions as well as templates. They look super easy and a lot of fun. I do like the idea of putting them on magnetic strips to use them as magnets as well. Figured I'd post in case anyone wants to give it a shot themselves!! DIY: Boarding Pass Invitation / Save The Date - Aylee Bits Happy Planning!!
  18. Thanks for all of the info everyone!! I am however a little confused on the pricing. The one form lists the pricing of the different types of menu items, then on another form it says the wedding is $50 for guests $60 for Grand Real guests. Would I figure costs on the type of menu I'd like (Buffet, Deluxe Menu, International) or just based on the $50/$60 price??
  19. Does anyone know if I book a 2010 wedding now, would I be locked into 2009 prices?? I know I'm a bit early to plan, but I'm just starting. I don't have anything yet!! I'd love to have any documents emailed to me as well ([email protected]). I don't know if the prices will change or not, but I would still like to see any choices that are available. I have to admit, I'm a part time cake decorator and I haven't seen a nice cake yet from The Royal. I'm a bit of a cake snob and I'd like to have something nice. Any ideas?? I'm so glad to find you gals!!
  20. Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!!!
  21. Well boy do I have a lot of reading to do!! I'm hoping to have my wedding at The Royal May 2010. I might be a bit early to start planning, but I really want to be prepared!! We went to The Royal last May and it was GREAT! We loved the service, food, atmosphere, everything! We didn't know at the time that we wanted to get married there, only after our visit did we choose there. From the looks of this thread everyone here knows a lot about it there, so I hope to learn how the wedding planning has gone. ~Jess
