Holy crap girls! I can't believe the resorts are charging to move the chairs or charging for a new set-up for the reception! Like, where are ppl supposed to sit?! Congrats caligirl! How exciting about the house & good luck with the job! Our legal day is Fri 5/21, then we leave Monday for PV! My mom and FI's parents will be there with us. Amy, you're also the only one having Elvis marry you!! I love this! You guys are going to have a blast!

Tiffany, I actually got the heart template from another bride here & printed them out on shipping labels from Staples. I had to trim them a little to fit but they came out well. The first aid kits themselves were $1 from Target. I think they usually carry them in the travel aisle. The file is too big to post in its entirety, but I just removed the last 2 hearts & posted it. You can easily copy & paste a heart into the last 2 spots. I've been looking at dollar stores, but haven't found much there for the OOT bags. The dollar stores around me aren't great. But I've found a lot of the meds & stuff on Amazon. Also bought a yankee candle from the website (they had a sale, each votive was $1). Found Spanish for Dummies at Target. Still need to find sudoku books & aloe, but I'm pretty much done otherwise. For the cake I think we're just going with vanilla. We haven't totally decided on the menu, but I think we're leaning toward the steak/chicken combo, poblano soup or crab salad and I can't remember what else. Haven't looked at the menu options in a while so we'll have to do that again soon. first aid kit heart label.doc

And it's really cool your cousin was your photog! Diana, I know - it's a really good thing we have extra time. I still have to finish my semester & get a gazillion clinical hours in before the wedding. Not to mention all the wedding stuff that needs to get done. Amy, good taste is right! I love that dress! It's a little short but I really like it. Now I have to return like 3 others. Shannon, wow! Sounds like you got a ton done this weekend! All these projects seem to take so long so it feels great to get any of it done. Woo hoo for the upcoming bachelorette party! And OMG, Caligirl! Talk about stress! Moving AND getting married AND applying for a new job! Good luck with everything & I hope you get the job! We'll keep our fingers crossed for smooth transitions!

yikes! Next month!! At least it's the very end of the month for me There's a lot of little details to work on and we need to work out the ceremony & music for reception. Also still need to find something for FI's sis to do. Also need to get a bag together by 4/15 to give FI's brother to take with him (they're coming to visit). Last night I cut out our bag tags & tied them on the OOT bags. Bought my legal day dress Friday though!! (not wearing a belt) Women's dresses - solids & textures - Ribbon cut-wave dress - J.Crew

We have a similar situation - one of FI's sisters bday's is our wedding day, the day before is soon-to-be-SIL's bday (brother's fiance) and my bro & SIL's anniversary is also the day before. Plus we have a couple others the week before. So, we're having a celebratory bonfire on the beach with s'mores and a bday cake the night before the wedding. We're not having a rehearsal dinner so on our itinerary we just listed "special celebration gathering on the beach". I really like the cupcake idea too!

I see your wedding is 05/29/2010 and you sent the invitations out in October: 1. Did you specify a RSVP deadline, if so what was it? 2. If you are using a TA/group rate ...Was there a separate deadline to book the travel by? My problem is... The group rate for the hotel is only good through June 1st and I am not sure if I should make the RSVP deadline also June 1st or a bit later... My wedding is not until 10/09/2010. Thanks girls! Allyson, we did have a deadline for both RSVP & booking & we based our rsvp date on the booking deadline (1/5/10). It was set up by the resort/TA and seemed sort of arbitrary to me, but because that deadline was Jan 5, we decided to make our rsvp deadline Jan 1. It was terrible timing with the holidays & everything, but most people responded in time. Well, maybe more like half. Then on 1/2/10 I sent out an email to everyone we hadn't heard from reminding them about the deadline for booking (they didn't have to pay in full by then, just a 1 night deposit). We sent our STD's pretty early too so that when they did receive the invite they'd already know what they planned on doing. The rsvp date was definitely early, but almost everyone knew right away whether they would be able to come or not so asking them to commit early didn't seem to make a difference. All that to say, I think having them rsvp & book by June 1 is a good idea. Are you about ready to send out your invites?

Maria, just take a deep breath. I know it's really anxiety-producing leading up to it, but you really are going to have the best time!! And you'll look gorgeous! It's good you'll be so busy until then - less time to think about it & stress out. And don't worry about the break-out, that's what make-up & photoshop are for!! Have a great time you sexy thang!

JT, have you tried Michael's? I was just there yesterday (Columbus & like 97ish) and they have a wedding section. There's a couple aisles and I remember seeing favor things; not sure about small gray boxes specifically but it's worth a shot. The other place worth checking out is Paper Presentation. They have a ton of stuff! Here's the web link with a bunch of favor boxes (each has a ton of colors) but they're on 18th btwn 6th & 5th (around the corner from BB,Beyond & Old Navy). I'm guessing the selection in the store will be more limited, but you might find something there. Favor Boxes: www.paperpresentation.com So here's some more of my crafty crap. I mentioned before, but I made a sign to post at the edge of the ceremony and we'll have a straw mat to leave shoes on. My painting ability isn't great, but it'll do. Cheapie paint brushes I got at Michael's. I painted the handles & added a tag. And the first aid kits contents

Thanks for posting that Allyson! How's all the planning coming along? I've been working on some projects. Here's what I have so far. Table #'s & place cards: the table #'s are hacienda house #'s and place cards are talavera tiles. I painted the backs with a terracotta color & am writing names/table # on them. Getting ready to send our pre-travel packages out to guests. I couldn't find enough of the larger luggage tags from Michael's so I shopped around & found the ones with the dots at Marshall's. All of our family will get the larger ones and everyone else will get the smaller. I also had to get some in pink & orange cuz I couldn't find all blue & green, but whatever. & we only have 3 kids coming (FI's niece & nephews) so they get their own special tags

Hey girls! I know, finally some nice weather; hopefully we'll get to keep it for a while. Shannon, I like the new pic! The chapel looks really bright & beautiful! And Amy, those shades are awesome!! They'll be so fun in pics! Welcome dianep! We have a great bunch of girls on this thread! What was your victory in? I spent all day running around trying to get stuff to make invites for my friend's shower. It took forever! Then I missed the UPS guy delivering the envelopes & backings for the invites. ugh. The shower is 5/1 & I really wanted these to go out this weekend, but now I won't get the stuff to finish making them until Monday cuz we'll be out of town all weekend. So frustrated right now. Kinda funny though that it's not my wedding stressing me out.

I agree, make him wait for the book!! That's half the fun of it! FutureMrsSears - you will have a great time with Jen!! She is such a great person, very easy going & has great suggestions. I brought a bunch of stuff, some of which I didn't use (like extra undies, jewelry & shoes), but she had me lay out the outfits & then we talked about which outfit would look best in each area (on the chaise lounge, the bed, by the mirror & the beaded curtain). It was so much fun!! And getting your make-up done is a must! It really makes all the difference in the pics. It's amazing how you can be transformed from girl-next-door to sex kitten with the right eye makeup!! haha. Oh, & my appt was at 10 am so there was no alcohol involved, but you really don't need it. Have a great time & let us know how it goes!!

OK, I'll play B2B: finleys7 (Shannon) Mrs: Vdaybride (Timberly) good luck chicas!

You girls are right - the grass is greener... I've only been out here a couple years, but I do really like it, mostly. I'm way up in the north end of Manhattan & although it's great having the subway so close & getting downtown is fairly quick, (assuming the A train runs express!!) I definitely miss having a car. I really like driving, but gave up my car when we moved out here so that was kind of an adjustment. And there's no quick errands. Going pretty much everywhere takes forever and if you're doing any shopping you have to carry everything with you so that's sort of a deterrent sometimes. I try to get a zipcar like once a month for Target runs and Fresh Direct has saved my sanity so many times (online grocery ordering & delivery) That said, it is a pretty incredible place to live & this city has energy like no other! Anyway, if you girls make it out this way let us know! Maybe we can all meet up. oh, and the winters really aren't bad. It never gets terribly hot or ridiculously cold; just pretty damn windy all the time. And it rains a lot. Of course, I'm from Chicago & weather there is waaay worse than NYC. Guess it's all relative.

Chrissy, that's what we do too. lol So far it's always worked!

Oh yeah, we're doing a symbolic ceremony. We're having our legal day in NYC on Fri 5/21 & then we leave for PV on Monday. 2 months to go!
