We're doing photos beforehand because I too am a cry baby and want to get that special moment captured with just my FI and I. Also, the sun sets so early I want to get group pics out of the way afterwards so everyone can enjoy the cocktail party while he and I take some more shots on the beach. I'm not worried about people seeing me before I get married, I figure it's so intimate with just a small group of us there it's OK.

I swear you need to email Barry 3 times to get an answer. However I got my koozies and the fuschia was more purple than pink so I contacted him about it. He was very responsive and is sending me pink ones at no charge, they were shipped a few days later. In the end it's a great deal because the other koozies I found were much more with the setup fee. But he definitely could improve his responsiveness...hopefully you all get your koozies in time!!!

Do you know what kind of jewelry they'll be wearing? My bridesmaid dresses are a shamrock green and I'm doing silver since my jewelry is silver toned and I wanted them to match. I'm not sure it matters though, I tend to overthink everything....esp when it comes to this wedding. But silver or gold will look nice and there are plenty of options out there in shoes and jewelry in both.

I'm getting married on a Monday simply because there were no Saturdays or Fridays left in November at Dreams Cancun... But now I'm really happy that it's on a Monday since our guests are arriving Friday and Saturday and enjoying a couple days before the ceremony.

Oh Publix cakes are soooo good!!! I'm sure it will turn out well, did she send you any pictures of similar cakes? I imagine they do beachy kind of wedding cakes often enough to have some photos.

I'm getting married at Dreams Cancun also and I decided to go with another photographer. When I first compared the resort photographer's work to other photog's I didn't think he measured up but I wasn't willing to pay the high cost of those better photographers. After a stressful search I decided to go with Sascha Gluck, i like his work and he has good feedback, a good price, and was available on my date. I'm still using the resort photographer but will do a session the day before the wedding. I'm planning to ask our group to wear white while FI and I are in a color. I figured this way I get 2 sessions with 2 different photographers so I'm bound to get some good shots! Actually after the resort photographer contacted me recently I was wondering why I stressed so much over it. I've seen some good feedback and pics from him on this forum. So don't stress too much over it but decide soon since the photographers book up rather quickly.

My wedding's on a Monday and guests are getting to Cancun on Friday/Sat/Sun so I'm planning a rehearsal/welcome dinner for Sunday evening. I think it's nice to do a welcome meal and if your whole group isn't there it's ok to do it with just those that are. Dinner's usually the default meal to allow people to do what they want during the day but if your group's ok with a brunch or lunch go for it. Good luck!

I just ordered some from this site: Discount School Supply - Decorate Your Own Wooden Maracas - Set of 12 I'm going to paint them white or ivory and just stamp them with a starfish stamp and attach a ribbon to the handle. I wasn't expecting anyone to keep them as a souvenir, just a fun decoration for the table and something for them to shake. And I can see my friends and family not remembering to take them back to the room so I definitely wasn't going to pay a lot.

I tasked my FI with selecting our first dance song and he picked 'Something in the way she moves' by James Taylor. I was definitely hung up on the more sappy ones so I'm happy he picked this one, and it's not too long so people won't be bored with watching us dance. Initially I wanted us to take dance lessons but the days are slipping by, maybe I'll check around here and see how much they are.

I only watched BB11 every once in a while but loved Jordan and Jeff. But what was up with Jordan's outfit last night? Clearly it was too small since she had to keep adjusting the bottom of her shorts. They should've let her change! Oh well but I'm happy she won, she seemed to need the $$ and will put it to good use.

I'm also in the same boat but I'm looking for fuschia heels, all the pretty ones are so high!! I only want about a 2" heel and can only find that height in the dyeable shoes so I think I might have to go that route. Hopefully someone has had good results with having their shoes dyed and can share their experience so I'll feel better about it.

I'm kinda over AI but now that Ellen's on I'll definitely tune in, I love her! I think she'll probably disagree with Simon but in a funny way, not the annoying way he and Paula used to go back and forth. I bet JT will be on there for a performance this year since they're friends, hopefully!

I could totally see this happening to me and my FI. I'm the more easy going one and he's more uptight and defensive in these types of situations. Just tell him his reaction is making you not want to ask him for advice in these situations. It's not like you're always going to do what he wants you to do and vice versa. He needs to loosen up and know that when you call him for advice it's just that, not an order. Good luck!

Which one was more comfortable? I thought I wanted a lace dress with straps but it ended up being itchy, not sure if it was just that dress (or me! ) but it helped steer me in the other direction. Of course you look great in both!!

I had the same question because I too have flipped between dark and light hair. However my FI likes my hair lighter so I'm going with that, I like both. I say if your FI prefers you with darker hair and you like it too go for it, it looks great!
