I am a little stressed out right now because I want to have my STDs out by the end of the month.... but am probably only halfway done with the "designing" part of them!! This month has slipped away from me!! I just want to give my guests enough planning time... so I am hoping 8 1/2 months ahead of time will be enough for them. Congrats on booking!!! welcome melissa! you can change your profile name, but it requires a lot of points, i think. it's in the vbPlaza Menu (pretty sure!!) what kind of STDs are you designing? i think your guests will have plenty of time to book...fares kind of suck right now anyway, and should drop in the fall. how many ppl are you expecting/inviting??
  4. joelle - i had seen that you set your date (congrats again!!) but i just noticed that you finally booked that's fabulous!! who is your LC WC? how many guests do you plan on having? i forget if you have even been to LC for a site visit or did you just find it on the forum? wow - so many questions! hehe. you have so much time, your wedding will probably be planned a year in advance. so awesome. you should take the first year to plan and then the second year to get a rockin' body and ridiculously perfect skin. it's about that time i start working on the belly and the skin...for sure!
  5. welcome to all of the new april brides!! hope everyone had a great weekend!

But the way I see it is, if you ask someone maybe they will try extra hard to come. i don't think you are going crazy at all...if you ask someone to be part of your wedding party and they say yes...they sure as hell better be there! seriously, it was wrong of him to agree to it and i think there is nothing wrong with having a little "talking to". i know girls that have declined being bridesmaids because of financial issues and i don't think there is anything wrong with that. good luck getting that FI and his party under control, lady!

    Newbie!!

congrats, nicole!! this is a great resource. i would recommend puerto vallarta, las caletas in particular...i'm not biased or anything! have fun planning - it is soooo fun and definitely makes for a good workday of procrastinating!
  10. aimee&ted - those shoes of yours are great!! so fun & sexy!

I sent my invites out in July, rsvp date for Oct 1. i only have 4 returned saying yes, 6 no's. so far. alittle disapointed but had to expect it. My FI can't even figure out a bestman. Which is hard to deal with since I like being planned. If he can't figure out how a bestman let along groosmen, how am I suppose to choose how many bridesmaid (not to say i had ask 4 of my gf to be bridesmaid) and so I had to let one go (for now, may need to let another go off her duties) just to try to make it equal girls vs guys. Are all of you having the same amount of people for bridemaids and groomens? we're having more friends than fam, too - due to party issues...we really wanted just a young, fun bunch of our really close friends. for the "old ppl" it's just our parents on either side and the parents of my 2 best friends and my sister-in-law. that's so frustrating that the FI can't get it together... hopefully he'll figure it out before long. it took my man a bit to get it together as well. we're having an equal #: he has a bestman and a groomsman, i have a maid of honor and a bridesman. another very good friend of mine is the officiant. happygolucky - welcome to the thread and congrats on your wedding! sounds like you've really got it all planned out and together!
  12. woah!! looking at everyone's posts and siggy's, i feel a little behind at 8 months out and only 2 ppl actually booked (we haven't even booked our flights! haha). invites are going out mid september with an RSVP due date of feb.1. figured that we really will know who's coming way before that date just because we see and talk to everyone all the time. robinkar - you are too right, the thought of different little items to fill it with is definitely starting to get expensive...i really like the idea of your candles with the sun, sand, surf theme! .and that price is GREAT!! i have a ton of incense lying around the house so i was going to cut them all up and put them in matchboxes to make little travel incense holders with our monogram stickers on the matchbooks...you could do something like that - would be super cheap and super easy, and a nice complement to your candles. caribbeanlover - you are going to have such a small, intimate wedding!! so lucky! is it pretty much all family?
  13. what a difference the site makes. man - it looks sooo much better. it was almost painful to direct ppl to the site because the wedding section was pretty bad before.
  14. helloooo ladies! i just noticed this thread for the first time (i think!!) and i, too, am an april 2010 bride! getting married in Las Caletas, and taking over 2 beachfront properties in PV that 38 of us will be staying in for 4 nights. things are just starting to come together and before long i'll be able to start working on all the little details...looking forward to see how the rest of you progress with planning for your april weddings! gregs bride - we have the same wedding date! yay for 4.24.10. nice to meet you all..............happy monday!
  15. if you want to just keep it simple, which i think is great - just use the J + P. maybe put the image in photoshop and have the dates (9.4.9 + 10.3.9) going vertically down the letters j and/or the p? just the first thing that popped to mind... good luck!
  16. i love that you are wearing the shirt your FI will be wearing - what a great idea. you look hot hot hot in all these pix!
  17. oh lisa! your aunt is sooo talented. the detail and love she put into it is so apparent. you are going to looks so gorgeous in it. LOVE the flower and think a small one for your hair would be great!
  18. here you go! i just stumbled upon this thread: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t42020
  19. i don't necessarily think it's a bad thing to ask for money - but that might be because i have an asian mother who lives on "red envelopes" for everything. in fact she even told us to screw off registries and just ask for red envelopes. don't think we're going to do that, but we ARE gonig to register at bed bath adn beyond because i'm pretty sure you can return items for cash. maybe you should just register there...and plan on returning everything for the $$. lol - just call ahead and make sure that's true.
  20. congratulations!! soooo exciting. good luck and have fun planning!
  21. awesome awesome awesome idea! wish i had seen this before - totally would have copied you! seriously, that's really creative and your guests will LOVE it.
  22. welcome to the forum, lizette!! you're going to love it here!!! have fun planning and congrats on your engagement!
