LOL that's how I was about my wedding.... I didn't seem to have any preferences. I left a lot of it until the last minute, so that forced me into making a decision. So, I'm clearly not the best person to help here.

I spent just over 2K. Photography was a really important area for me and I was willing to spend a bit extra there.

Well I guess I'm not a proper person..... I wasn't about to cover it. I say it's up to them to cover that cost. You picked the "venue", if they don't want to stay there then don't, but I don't think you should have to pay extra for them.

My wedding was small.... there was 10 of us in total. We all went to one of the restaurants and the hotel surprised us with our own private room. We were there for hours just having a good time. After that we lost 2 people to bed, but that was because they had a baby, so there were 8 of us. We went to one of the bars, plugged in our own ipod and docking station and danced till midnight (which was when the bar closed). Then we moved on to the disco until 2am! Everyone had an amazing time and we basically winged the whole thing.

Laura, I'm really late on this but CONGRATS!!! I hope your day was everything you dreamed of! Can't wait to see pics!!

kodonne3 - it rained on my wedding day and my beach wedding was cancelled. I didn't have the option of the ball room because the other wedding that day was using it, so they wanted to stick us in the hallway of building 3. Luckily my photogs jumped in and said no way in hell! We ended up having it on the terrace of zocalo, but it only worked because we were such a small group. So sorry, I don't have pics of the decorated rooms

I think the most important thing in this situation is that he's a man... what does he know? Probably not much lol. They aren't the most observant creatures so I wouldn't take what he said to heart. He's just a man, he doesn't get it lol.

Oh I can definitely relate to this. I felt really plain and boring in mine, but on the wedding day with the hair and makeup.... completely different feeling .

These were actually shots that we took at our wedding, but its the best I've got. We aren't huge St. Patty's Day people.
