  1. As much as I complained about DH not being involved in any of the wedding plans, I would have gone crazy if it were the other way and he was in my face with his opinion all the time. masmarmar, I like both... matching or different colours!! I say go with what you like. I really don't think you can go wrong Oh apparently to vote on the fb pic you have to "like" the photographer to be able to "like" the pic..... that's the word anyways lol.
  2. Hi ladies! How's everyone's planning going? Hope none of you are driving yourselves crazy!!!! Wondering if you ladies can help me out? I'm in a photocontest. To win you have to get the most votes on fb. Here's the link: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?ai...3524486&ref=mf. Click like on my pic (Nicole & Curt). Or if you don't like it, don't vote for me!!! Thanks ladies!!! xoxo

Honestly, DO NOT READ TRIP ADVISOR!! It serves no useful purpose. Everything will be fine. Just think of all the idiots that purposely post bad comments on there just so they can get something out of the hotel. Seriously don't read it. I've been to the hotel, there's nothing to worry about. I think I'm a more accurate resource than some smuck looking for a few extra bucks in his pocket. The end
  4. Congrats ladies!!!! Cassie have a blast at your wedding!!! xoxo Manders - you rock

Did any of you switch TAs and is there any special etiquette for doing it? It comes down to price for me...and I don't want my sister's friend to do all this work for nothing...so if she can save me $$$ I would switch....Thanks I used The Wedding Holiday. THey are DW specialists and none of our guests could find a rate better than what they gave us. But if in your case they did, I would mention that to your TA.

I booked them about a year and a half ago when they were first starting out with DW so their rates will likely be different now, but I can say that they are reasonable. Who knows at some point I might figure out the picture thing... If you're just trying to post a pic, upload it to a photoshare site like photobucket, and copy and paste the IMG code in your post. If you're doing a siggy pic, you can upload it in the user cp area. Meghan!!! Welcome back and CONGRATS!!!! SOOOOOO glad that everything went perfectly . I need to see pics ASAP!!!

They tried to stick us in the hallway of building 3, but since we were such a small group my photog got them to agree to set up on the terrace of zavaz. Ceremony set up (completely last minute) We winged the dinner. During our on site meeting they told me that they would let us do our dinner at Siena since we were such a small group. When we got there they had arranged for us to have our own private room. Small room, but I appreciated it. We had our own servers in the room for the whole time and they even went over and above by entertaining us with the tradition of tequila poppers. It was a blast. We were there until after 9pm and I think we scheduled dinner for around 5pm. Here was the room for the dinner: I'll PM you a link of some pics! If I missed anything let me know!!
  9. Congrats and to the forum! Such a great story . Happy planning!
  10. Eeeekk I didn't sign on yesterday so I'm a day late, but I posted a shout out for Meghan anyways: Happy wedding day Meghan!! - Best Destination Wedding Forum ~ The Ultimate Destination Wedding Resource
  11. Sorry Meghan, I'm a day late, but I wanted to say that I hope you had the most amazing day! I prayed for no rain, so hopefully that worked lol. Can't wait to hear all about it! Congrats!!!
  12. OMG Cass!!! Its all sooo amazing . You look stunning in your dress and I'm so excited for you! Perfect, everything is perfect. And the groom has pants hehe.
  13. Ms. H - congrats on picking your venue! Hardest part is done! Have you read through this thread? I know its long, but you'll be happy you did. Definitely worth the time to read through it. For some quick answers, I did the silver package. It pretty much provides you with nothing. But I kept my wedding simple and had barely any guests so the only thing I added was the decoration package and paid a $500 vendor fee for my photog. If you want a private reception you have to pay extra for that.
  14. Bahahaha Manders, I was just going to say the same thing... "duh its Friday!!!" WOOT!!
  15. This might sound strange, but I felt more relaxed with my photog there lol. She totally took control when things were going wrong which eased me and took a lot of pressure off. I didn't feel distracted at all. It's not like she was interrupting me saying "stop what you're doing and pose". I was going about my business and went about hers. I'm really glad that I have those pics
  16. Wow you ladies are chatty! I miss one day and took me forever to catch up! I just skimmed so sorry if I miss anything. OMG don't even get me started on the internet friend thing lol. DH thought I was a total whack job. I became obssessed with this site and talked about it all the time. Then it got crazier.... I'm actually good friends with quite a few people on here and went to meet 13 of them in Chicago lol. Then we had another meet up just last weekend in Niagara. Try to explain that to people. "Uh I'm having a girls weekend with my internet friends" lol. DH is finally coming around.... but he still thinks its weird. I don't want to appear cheap to the guests that actually DO spend the money and the time coming with us...but I can't really see getting a DJ and a dance floor with smoke machine and flashing lights for me, my FI, my mom..his parents and 2 of my friends..... Thoughts and Opinions? Thanx I always felt out of place on the forum because I thought I was the ONLY person not doing a huge wedding, but honestly if it doesn't work for you, don't be intimidated. I only had 7 guests, not kidding lol. I didn't do a private reception and I wouldn't change a thing. I honestly did minimal planning. Read my planning thread (link below) and you'll see lol. I was prob the worst bride ever, but whatevs! I had soo much fun.
  17. Good luck ladies, you're all amazing
  18. Hmmm good point JesseLyn. I was given my certificate in Mexico to bring home with me, so I didn't have to worry about that. If you aren't paying for them to translate it won't they just give it to you?
  19. I haven't been to that many weddings, but one of my first weddings was for my grandfather. It was awful. His very vain and old wrinkly bride bought a full blown ball gown which looked ridiculous. After the ceremony and a few hours to kill, we went to the "legion" that they were holding it at. It was a cash bar at a little window to a snack bar with those tiny plastic cups and maybe 2 options of drinks. I asked for a vodka and orange juice and they told me to buy an orange juice out of the vending machine, pay for the alcohol and they'd mix it for me. And for dinner we had a slice of roast beef with canned gravy, and gross canned vegetables. I was starving lol. They even did a garter toss!!! Talk about gross!! We had to force the single guys (which were mostly grandkids) onto the floor and when my grandfather threw the garter they all ran screaming lol!!! It sat in the middle of the floor until one brave grandson went and picked it up with an annoyed look on his face lol. I should go dig up a pic.......
  20. Oh thanks for posting that link Lucy! I still have to change my name on my passport and I have a feeling I won't be as lucky this time with the certificate in Spanish lol. Oh nevermind, I just looked it up and I don't need my marriage certificate for my passport.
  21. Confession - I totally LOL'd and thought of Cougs when I read "I am going down the shore" in the above post.
  22. I was told that I don't need to register or legalize my marriage in Ontario. If I am legally married in another country, I am legally married in the eyes of the Canadian government. All I did was present my marriage cert in order to change my name.

This is really tough to answer as we all have different weddings that range from super simple to super extravagant. I'm PMing you now.
