  1. Thanks Jerseykitten! he looked at the board posting today but nothing really close by but in the end you got to do what you got to do. So will see what happens I think lunch might would out better if we go to Jose Tejas as they normally get packed for dinner on the weekends (at least from what i have seen in the past) and either day would be good for me.
  2. I sorry to hear so many are having job issues. FI has been in school at umdnj for the last year and an half and works part-time at home depot (helps pays a couple of the small bills). He will graduate in a couple of weeks and then has to look for a job as a dental assistant hopefully his search doesnt take too long. I love Jose Tejas! when ever we are in the woodbridge that's where we go so I havent ever been to the other places.
  3. I could do the shore, im more west north jersey, how far down the shore we talking about? seaside area would be about 1 hr 15 min with no shore traffic. Woodbridge area would be about 45 mins, i think i remember a bunch being from around that area
  4. June 12 is good for me! Quote: Originally Posted by krizstyling Wow, on that site where I live I would be spending between 22,000 and 39,000! None of my friends have had one and I would go in a heartbeat if one of them decided to! It just makes more sense to me. Anyway, thank you for the welcome cristini! We are in the very early stages (2012) so I'm just gathering information from all of you and creating folders etc. on my computer of what exactly I like and want to use and then showing it to the man to give him a choice between A B or C..anything more than that and he'd start getting picky and I wouldn't like that. lol. That's not too bad, mine was $31,069 and $51,781 and most likely would be for something average! Instead we are spending a fraction of the cost and will be in a beautiful location. I did the same thing, found things I loved and had the FI help choose between a couple of options, worked out great!
  5. I would def be in for a meet-up in June, would love to meet everyone!

I am going to lose it if that happens. Same here, i have been planning this wedding for over 2 years! def sad it will be over soon and dont know what i will do with all my free time. Luckily i haven't had the TA questions from the guest, that would drive me crazy.

Went on about how I shouldn't buy from that other store because if anything happened to their MS contract b/c of their lower price, I wouldn't get my dress and they probably wouldn't give me my money back....the difference is $100, so not a huge amount - but still $100....to store with a sale associate with bad service.... They're both on MS website as authorized dealers. I heard the same thing when i was shopping around from one store, but i have my dress in hand with no problems. To check on the MSRP of a maggie dress just do a google search. there are a couple of stores that sell real maggies online and their prices are usually the MSRP. You will not get that much off but some. I was able to get about $80 off, which helped with alterations. I cant believe more ppl dont shop around for prices on their wedding dress, i have looked at preowned maggies online and some ppl paid a couple hundred over MSRP, i think i once saw one for close to double.

Since we are having a legal ceremony, it will be in Spanish and translated to English, so I can let you know how that is after Wednesday! Also, we were happy to find out today that it doesn't actually take several weeks to get our marriage certificate in the mail, we will actually get it the day after the wedding! So that is awesome! And all of our guests have only said great things about the resort which is also a plus! So other than that, we have been having a great time and can't wait till Wednesday for the wedding! Again, if anyone needs to know anything or wants a specific picture, let me know and I can try to find out! Glad to hear everything when smoothly with Tiara, best of luck for tomorrow! Any input would be much appreciated! xox Thanks again guys...Love you all!! I have not out right asked her if I can give her my own, so it might be an option my only concern would be pronunciation on something that is new to them instead of reading from the same old script. Personally i would prefer the eastern european accents, my fathers parents were from Poland and when i hear that accent it minds me of them (they have both passed) Quote: Originally Posted by amygirl1169 FYI: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...5/#post1263913 Its great Amy!!! where did you find all the time for all those DIYs
  10. Wow Amy everything looks great!! Have a great trip and cant wait to hear a review!!!

Whats the difference between this employee and Tiara? english is better? longer ceremony? Did you write long vows as well?? sorry for all these questions but so many thoughts and questions are running through my mind now...I never expected not to have Pastor Rick busy on my wedding date *sigh* that's what i thought too! i think we will go with the employee, but want to speak with them first to see first hand how their english is. Tiara said they have courses and experience performing this type of ceremonies. Also will be dressed formally not in a hotel uniform. The second script i got from her was a bit longer, i am going to add a bit to it and see if that's ok, but it should be since I'm paying $150 for 15-20 mins of speaking.

I have my vows written and they are quite long...Those who are using Tiara for they ceremony; are you using your own vows or the ones writen by the resort? They seem soooo short and not meaningful at all... please let me know...Im so sad and worried now I wanted to use pastor rick as well but he was already booked on my day. i asked him if he could recommend anyone but never responded. For $150 there an employee of the hotel that will perform the ceremony.
  13. FYI, there was a pretty good review of a wedding on trip advisor and the bride posted pics of the wedding ceremony on the beach, cocktail hour on the pier and reception at SSG. 15. Sorry to keep harping on this company but just wanted to let others know since I have not seen it mentioned on here but if you have a foreign transaction fee on your credit card for overseas purchase you will get one, it wasnt much though like $6. If i would have know this I would have used my other credit card that doesnt charge a fee for overseas purchases or used paypal.

I have the trio for the cocktail hour (or so said the 2009 contract - we may pay for it anyway) but don't want to hire a dj (tight budget). Was the Bose docker expensive? I don't even have an ipod... lol! When you email the WC, do you have your date in the email? that might help, lately Tiara has been responding pretty quickly to me, same day or within 3 days. I know they have 43 weddings for this month and 40 for May so they are super busy. Bose dock is about $400, i figure for the cost of the trio and dj we are saving money plus we will have it for after the wedding. I would ask someone in your wedding party that has an iPod to put the music together. That's my FI job since he really hasnt done much.

  18. Hey Pink, for my center pieces i was inspired by this picture And here is how it came out (did it a couple of weeks ago but havent had the time to upload them) using paper lanterns since they fold flat so they are easy to bring down, didnt put the lights in them yet though and still have a couple more sizes and shapes coming in the mail.
  19. Congrats Jenne! Best of luck with your wedding!!!
  20. I am buying the bose portable iPod docking station to use for the ceremony and reception, i heard its pretty loud.

Finally heard back and they would do the alterations for free but the cost to ship there and then back makes no sense, I am having someone here fix it if she can, she already took a look and most likely there is not enough material to close the gap. The only plus is its on the back so you'll not see it for most of the pictures. Heads up for anyone else ordering, we gave the custom measurements for the jacket but ordered the ready made pants because of this they did not have the seat measurement so that is why the fit is so bad they say but really if your missing a measurement just email me and i would of been happy to give it to them. They emailed my mom to double check on my dad's suit. We have never had this problem when FI has brought suits in the past.
  22. I plan on buying it for my wedding next month so I'll let you know when we get back. Going to be using it at the Gazebo for the ceremony and for the reception on the beach.
  23. I hear you, my deadline was 3/15 and only got about 50% back. I had FI take care of his side and my mom take care of my side and I reached out to a couple of friends. In the end most said no and we have 2 maybes
