  3. Thank you so much Matt!!! We love the pictures and had such an amazing time with you, Jonathan, Rachel and Melissa! It was a great way to start-off our official honeymoon and got to wear my wedding dress one last time
  4. Hi All,  We were lucky enough to win the contest Del Sol was running for their sister company La Luna!! We got so many amazing pictures!! And had such a wonderful time with Matt, Jonathan, Rachel and Melissa. They were all such a pleasure to work with and do such great work!!!  Here's the slideshow: http://lalunaphotographers.com/blog/slideshows/072210_heather_george_portraits  Enjoy!
  5. They use electronic key cards, side note you need to put one in to turn on the electric you'll see it on the wall as soon as you enter the room.   I think i posted some where in this thread but I paid with a cc, didnt want to bring that much cash and just paid right before check out. There was a slight difference in the total amount charged thought because they tell you the price in dollars then convert to pesos and then your cc converts back to dollars and in the end was charged a couple of dollars more b/c of different exchange rates, not a big deal in the grand scheme of things  I paid Elke $50 to do the ceremony (that is what Yanna suggested) but read of others that didnt. Â
  6. Best of luck Nadia and Pink Petals!! have a great time down there! Â Â We also used Elke, i believe i was one of the first, i have it in my review but anyways it was great option and would do it again. I gave Yanna the script and she past it long to Elke. Â BTW, i brought my sand ceremony glasses in my carry-on there and back and had no problems but flew out of the states. Â
  7. I used TA Dina from this forum and she was great! She is located outside of philly in jersey, but never met her in person as there was no real need to so I wouldnt limit your self on location, look for someone that has DW experience.
  8. I have some paper lanterns (on the smaller size) still for sale, check the link out on my siggy, thanks!
  9. Â If you are getting married at the gazebo you can weal heals, i did and was fine in 4 inch heals ( i hardly ever wear heals) Â That's great news! also about the new gazebo as that was a major gripe of mine. i had booked the gazebo at 4:30 over a year before my wedding and the other bride for that day switched from the beach to the gazebo a couple of days before for 5:30. We started over 15 mins late (have no idea why as we were all ready at 4:20 like Yanna stated) and finished the ceremony at almost 5 and was only able to take less than 5 mins of pics in front of the gazebo before they rushed us out and took down all of my decor down and quickly but up the other brides. Â we also had our reception on the beach and brought a bose sounddock and it worked great and was loud enough
  10. This is correct. We had the silver menu and the entree, soup and dessert was the same for everyone and at the beginning of the reception the waiters asked everyone if they wanted the steak or chicken meal. Note, we did have 1 kid under 12 and they got pizza from the kids menu
  11. will you guest remember them, most likely not but will you yes! i completely understand about of the free chairs. i didnt want to look at my pictures and dislike the chairs in them for the rest of my life so i paid the extra money, but luckly I only had 14 ppl. how about the white folding chairs as they are about half the price or would they not mesh well with the look.
  12. i say hot pink and orange but those were my colors so i'm a little bias. here is a great pic from my photographer showing it off. i have some more pics in my siggy links. i was thinking blue for a while but i would have blue in the ocean backdrop.
  13. I got the white folding chairs for the reception and ceremony. I believe they were $7 or $8 a piece. I think the Tiffany chairs were $15. For me upgrading the chairs was worth is as it gave the space a different look (compared to the free chairs) and I was still able to use the chair sashes i wanted. I thought the Tiffany chair would of looked too out of place with the rest of my decor, like too fancy for me at least. If i would of had a lot of ppl come i might of rethought renting the chairs as that could of really added up.
  14. I already got married back in May at DLR, if you want to see my pro pics or my review they are in my siggy below. Â I put a pic of the cake in my review, so click below. We got chocolate cake and it was very good, very moist. We brought the rest back to our room and ate pieces of it during the rest of our stay. We didnt eat a lot of it during the wedding cause there was just too much yummy food at the dinner. Glad we didnt do the cocktail hour cause ppl would of eaten even less of their food at the reception. Â Wow its coming up so quick! Best of luck in these last couple of weeks Â
  15. Congrats Gaby! great review!  We used the bose ipod dock and it worked great on the beach, and it was loud enough  I believe they are call "photo souvenir", they have booth at the resort. They are the ppl that take your picture during the day with all the different animals. The have a couple of photographer, but i'm not sure you could request one over another. I think a couple of brides have used them and said they were pretty good. When they took my picture with a couple of different animals they were pretty good at posing me and giving me direction. Pics were the most important thing to me so to be safe i flew someone down and dont have a single regret about spending a bit more money for them.   Also Uninspired, great post!!! its so easy to loose sight of what really is important Â
  16. Â we had no problem for the most part. We did the zip-lining, swimming w/ the dolphins, tulum and Chichen Itza. the woman the the booking desk was very help full, when the zip-lining tour was booked up for the day we wanted she told us to check with her the day off 15 mins before the pick-up time to see if they had any room and they did so we got to do it. the only complaint was for the tulum and Chichen Itza tour, they really make the tour 1-2 hours longer then needed by stopping at their gift stores on the side of the road, just wait till you get to Chichen Itza to buy souvenirs as the prices at their places are way over price and they are not willing to really deal. We got some thing at Chichen Itza for $12 that their place wanted $55!
  17. I used mywedding.com and they had music and RSVPing for multiple events online. you can also hide and un-hide any page you want to plus they have custom pages that you can create as well
  18. hey dana, Dont know if you ever read my review but it answers a couple of your answers (its in my siggy). I would stay in building 5 and would contact the spa directly and book the hair as i had some issues as there was another wedding the same day.
  19. Hi I still have some orange paper and metal lanterns left for sale. I'll be willing to drop the price if you bulk order, here's the link http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/60141/fs-orange-fuchsia-red-items-led-lights-and-more if you scroll down on the thread you will sell what has sold.
  20. Thanks for looking into this, as we didnt have a problem at all with mosquitoes when we went in May.
  21. I dont think you have anything to worry about. My DH and I just returned from playacar palace and had a wonderful trip. The service of the staff was great, the location was the best and the beach is perfect. We had no problem using up our $1500 credit as it was quite easy to book the tours and we upgraded our room from the resort view to concierge level with an ocean view. The only thing I would say was on the negative side was only having 3 restaurants, as we got a little bored. There was always something good to eat but sometimes at the buffet somethings just sat took long. We loved the asian restaurants but the italian was not so great for our tastes as we have tons of great italian restaurants here in nj(but others we met there loved it so to each its own). Also they loved to put cream cheese in a hand full of the dishes (alot of the sushi had it and some of the italian) and i dont like cream cheese so i dont think that helped. We only saw one wedding talking place for the whole week so that was nice compared to where we got married as they had one or two everyday. Let me know if you want any pics or info on the tours as we did most of them.
  22. I thought about doing dinner in the wine cellar and once I was there I was glad i didnt cause to me it felt like you were in a fish bowl as three of the walls are glass so its like the whole restaurant can look at you up on this platform (like 2 feet high). And the pier you would have to pay for the silver or gold menu. I think it might be best (if you dont want to pay extra) to do the semi-private at the SSG or the seafood restaurant as you can see the ocean from both.
  23. def go with the fuchsia! I had fuchsia & aqua shoes and loved them and so did everyone else
