  1. I'm glad LC is moving on (hopefully, to bigger and better things) !

  3. Thanks for the update, Julie! We are keeping our fingers crossed that the US won't issue a travel ban. Otherwise, our guests have expressed that they want to go "rain or swine" I received an email from my photog today who just returned from Playa del Carmen for a wedding and she said everything was business as usual.
  4. Yamille, very well written letter. We feel the same way: we love PRC and plan on postponing if necessary. Hang in there!
  5. I am so sorry ladies. If I can help you look for alternatives, please let me know. Not that I have any leads, but I can Google!
  6. jls62081 -- we are date twins! Right now, we are just playing the waiting game to see what happens. If we do have to postpone/cancel, I think we'll just move it to this winter. To be honest, I don't really want to put together another trip quickly -- I'm tired. FI and I will probably just check into a resort in the US, take it easy and go from there. Here is my letter. Thanks to everyone who shared! Dear Friends and Family, The countdown has begun and we are excited! But we are also now anxious. As we monitor developments in this swine flu issue, we are keenly aware that it could have an impact on our plans. Currently, the wedding festivities are still on! We understand the concern you may be feeling. The intent of our wedding is for people to be able to relax and have fun. We would like to do everything that we can to help you gather information about the situation. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do and do not hesitate to call or email us with any question. Meanwhile, we will continue to check for updates from the following sources and follow the recommended safety precautions: CDC - Influenza (Flu) | Swine Influenza (Flu) Swine Flu Outbreak Information WHO | World Health Organization If you are reconsidering traveling, our travel agent, ___, will be able to provide information regarding the options available. It is most important to us that you feel safe and comfortable when you travel, and we will, of course, support any decision you make. We are channeling all the most positive energy and love in the world to our destination and the people affected, and we ask that you do the same! Love, Bumbles and Mr. Bumbles to Be PS Don't forget to send your "meet the guests" picture and blurb!
  7. I am SO sorry this is happening to you. I know it's easy to say since I'm not in your position, but you're already in beautiful Mexico with your FI and the guests who did travel. After you tie up loose ends, be *the most determined* person ever to have the best time there, so you'll look back at this thinking "that swine flu SUCKED but those of us there had a BLAST anyway" HUGS!!!!
  8. We have had a family with young children cancel plans. Other than that, it seems like everyone we talked to still wants to go as of now! We'll see... hopefully, this will be over soon and we're hoping for the best for the couples getting married, people in Mexico and everyone else!
  9. Congrats Julie *S*! I'm glad you had a wonderful time and can't wait to see the pics! Btw, what was the general sentiment about the swine flu at Paradisus/Cancun/airport when you left?
  10. How fun, FutureMrsC! Are you doing a tasting? If so, I'd love to hear what you like/didn't like. Safe travels!
  11. Thanks for the dry erase board idea, amyh! It's simple, fun, and the guests can get creative. I'm picking up the boards tomorrow and checking another item off the to-do list!
  12. Hi Kelly, did you take this tour from CancunVista? Chichen Itza Plus How far in advance did you make your reservation? How does hiring a guide work upon arrival at the ruins? How much does it cost for a guide? Sorry for the tons of questions!
  13. Great wedding! I love your dress and the pink flowers!
  14. Yes, definitely use a reputable institution - sorry, I did not mean to imply that you should give your financial information to just anybody.
  15. Definitely shop around! I didn't because I was lazy and my bank is located across the street from my office
  16. Mariachis play on the beach with their guitars, trumpets, violins... so you can your FI! Is he concerned about transporting his instrument? He can carry it on the plane, lock it in a suitcase while at the hotel, and you can always have a friend bring it back to your city while you're on the hm. Do you think he is using the trumpet as a cover for a bigger reason not to do a dw?
