I ran into some problems with my mom about my wedding being a dw. Begrudginly, I asked my fiance if it would be ok to look into having the wedding locally. We visited reception sites, hotels, restaurants, etc. We had no emotions, no happy feelings, just doing it to make our parents happy. As is turns out, all of the wedding planners at those places told us the same thing, "We would love to have your business, but in the end, be true to yourself as a couple and follow your heart." You two will be pledging your lives to one another and nobody else on that special day. In the end, that's all that counts. I hope that this helps out!

What vendors are you using (minister, photog, florists, dj/live band, etc) I'm not sure yet 6. Any additional fun info about your wedding, pics, etc! My FI and I sent out over 100. We designed it, took it to Staples to print it out on 80 lb cardstock, the cut them out and then we finished up by using a rotary cutter to make the cut that Staples did a little more even. We used the perforator to make it really look like a ticket and then used the corner punch for the edges but also used it to make the triangular edges to make the boarding passes look "real". If you do this method, only roll the perforator on the rotary over it once because you need to fold it over to use the corner punch to get that "triangle" shape. It is very tedious. If you have any other questions, I'd be glad to help out!

Welcome, Jennifer! Congrats to you and your hunny on your engagement. I was like you, it took a long time to decide but I finally got around to it. I'm doing mine at the Marriott. Maybe you might want to look into the Marriott in Cancun. They offer the Catholic ceremonies if you're interested in doing your wedding at a non-AI resort. Good luck with your planning!

Carla, I was on the fence on whether I would have my wedding at Paradisus Palma Real or Riviera Cancun, but by reading your review and seeing your beautiful pics (by the way, you looked beautiful!!), I think I've decided. I was unsure about the photographers in DR, but your photographer did a great job! I have a question for you, how did you get them to include the reception dinner for free because it was presented to me that it has to be paid for?

Hey Everybody! I'm Felicia from New Jersey. I got engaged on March 16th of this year and my fiance and I would like to get married on May 23rd, 2009. The only requirement that he has is that we get married on the sand with blue water and blue skies. I've been doing research on Jamaica and Cancun and have been driving myself crazy not knowing which place to choose. Can anyone help me out with good venues in those destinations? Very confused bride....
